COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

’In other words, Isshiki herself felt that being isolated by her companions in the boat was terrible, so she wanted to selectively forget that part?’

“Are you working here now?”

“Yes. If you are on duty here, you can get 1,000 personal points per hour.”

’Then you are quite diligent But this is during exam, and you, a student from another grade, can come here to work, which means... you are completely giving up and don’t want to take the exam anymore?’

Hachiman took out his tablet.

After checking, found out that Isshiki Iroha and her team only scored 11 points.

After 4 days, one group only had 11 points. It looks quite outrageous. Ranking is around 150.

“Your ranking is pretty bad....”

“Hehe.” Faced with this action being directly exposed, Isshiki Iroha remained polite without being rude, but her eyes were full of expressions like “Senpai, why do you always bring up such annoying topics?”

“Ichinose and I are friends,” Probably because Hachiman realised her gaze on him was a bit negative.

“Oh?” This sentence made Isshiki perk up. Because she knew that Ichinose-senpai was a popular Archangel.

’And now that Hikigaya-senpai mentioned Ichinose-senpai’s name, does that mean... he actually wants to contribute?’

“Actually,” Isshiki said immediately after making her judgment, “My group fell apart. One of the companions gave up because she was bitten by a snake. Then, other one returned to the starting point and didn’t want to go into the forest again. So, if I were alone, I would definitely not be able to make it.....”

After all, she had been to a forest before, so Isshiki knew that it was difficult to move alone.

If you are not a group going to the designated area to check in and score points, then one person can get 1 at most.

If you move areas four times a day, one person can get 4 points.

However, generally speaking, the location of fourth designated area is far away from 3rd, so few people can get the full points of the four designated areas every day.

Hachiman and his friends act as a group, so if each person gets 1 point, there are 4 points in total.

If they are lucky enough to be among first three groups to check in, they can get extra points.

But for ordinary students, pressure is too great.

“After you give up, there are no more requirements for number of people in group. If other members give up, then you alone will be a group. So, if you check in at the designated area, you’ll have a chance to get a reward for being among the top three.”

“....” Isshiki Iroha. “This is unrealistic. Because if it becomes a one-person group, and I run into trouble and have to give up, then I’m afraid scores of the three of us will end up being 0, and we might all be expelled.”

“Well then,” Hachiman actually already had a plan in mind to deal with Isshiki’s current situation.

“Why have you been ostracized by the students in your class until now? Although some people don’t get along well with each other, they will cooperate for sake of exam results. And Isshiki, you’re not in a good state. If I’m not mistaken, you should have been isolated by your class. What on earth did you do?”

Hachiman discovered that while he was saying this, a black-haired girl who was selecting supplies in the store had her eyes fixed on a can of yellow peaches, but her attention must have been drawn over here.

Isshiki Iroha is an isolated school girl.

But judging from her appearance, she is actually quite cute.

She has light-colored hair that is neither long nor short, very smooth, and a cute face.

She is a girl whose smile can make your heart flutter.

To be precise, she is the kind of girl who is so charming that you can’t do anything about her when she starts to act coquettishly.

“Isolation or something,” In response to the question raised by Hikigaya-senpai, Isshiki said a bit meekly, “In fact, I just have a bad relationship with thirty or so people in my class.....”

’There are more than 30 students, but your class only has 40 people. So are they 39 excluding you? In other words, Isshiki Iroha is extremely unpopular, and people even hold a grudge against her....You can just think about this kind of thing, but you won’t say it directly.’

Hikigaya-senpai is still very gentle.

“Ah... Well, actually, some people would say that I like to be in the spotlight or something like that? And as a junior, I often pester Ichinose-senpai, and I team up with her in first and second-year partner written exam, and I often eat with Ichinose-senpai... So it seems that I left such an impression.” Isshiki said it without any hesitation.

’And her expression seemed a little aggrieved, but what actually meant was that other people who didn’t like her were probably just jealous of her. At the same time. She should be in a state of being disliked, but was surprisingly sober when she said these words, which means that she had long realized that getting along with Archangel Ichinose would cause jealousy.....But she did it anyway. This girl seems to be unexpectedly rational.’

However, Hachiman only just now realized that Ichinose-san has actually been getting along well with this junior recently.

“That’s not the main reason. You chose to contact Ichinose, who is very friendly. If you ask her for help, she will try her best. When No. 8 boat was heading to the starting point, I saw that although Ichinose had brought members to you, two of them simply ignored you. Obviously, Ichinose’s approach didn’t work.”

“You’re so annoying, Senpai. You were actually staring at me at that time!” Although Isshiki deliberately said this in a delicate voice, there was not much beauty on her face, and her eyes were full of unhappiness.

She just didn’t want other party to tell this matter.

But Isshiki was also struggling, wondering whether to confess.

Give it a try.

“Actually, I was indeed isolated in the class, but it wasn’t because I didn’t behave well after coming to school, but because there was a student in the class who was from same junior high school as me. The other party wrongly accused me of stealing my friend’s boyfriend. This is fake. The other person’s boyfriend was interested in me, and I rejected him. Then he started to spread rumors in the small circle, saying that I seduced him and sent him pornographic pictures. The record he provided was a chat. Although it was my profile picture, I really did not send him such a thing. And it’s a very crude method. Because the profile picture and name can be disguised directly. It’s just that no one believed me. I thought my friends wouldn’t believe this kind of thing, but they immediately thought I was a bitch....And then, nothing else. I felt these people were not worthy of being close friends. So I wanted to apply to Sobu High School, which had a high deviation value, to stay away from them.....As a result...principal told me about this school, so I gave it a try and ended up getting in. However. I didn’t expect that after coming in... I would meet people from that circle. Then on first day, she directly told everyone about my junior high school experience when she introduced herself to the class. Then I’ll become a bad woman who seduces my bestie....”

’What’s actually wrong with today’s generation? You don’t even need to breathe. This is really scary. Your reputation was ruined on the first day of school. Although Isshiki’s classmate may not be able to produce evidence directly, her words darkened the image..Ordinary students definitely don’t want to interact with such bad students.....’ Hachiman was thinking from a normal boy’s perspective.

“And I definitely don’t want to spend my years like that. They say this school is about strength first, right? So, during Ichinose-senpai’s exchange meeting, I approached her. She is pretty, popular, and super friendly. She’s also a member of the student council, very popular among us juniors, so when the others saw that I could have dinner with Ichinose-senpai, they were very jealous.....”

“….” Hachiman was stunned. Then you are really good at courting death.

’You found yourself being isolated by other students in the class, so looked for popular Senpais’s to approach. On the one hand, it helps you expand your network, and on the other hand, it lets those people in your class who are isolating you see that you can still make the list and get them angry....But doesn’t this mean giving up interpersonal relationships in your class? You should know this school has special exams every month. If you are in your first year and also encounter where you are voted to drop out of school, you will be executed on spot.’

“As someone who has been through this before,” Hachiman thought for a moment and decided to tell Isshiki this school is not kind, “If you want to stay in this school for three full years, it is important to have a good relationship with students in your class.”

“I think so too. Don’t you only have thirty or so students who have a bad relationship with you? Then go and form a small team with those who don’t have a negative opinion towards you,” At this time, a voice interrupted.

That’s Shinohara, who has short hair but a strong sense of justice and stood up to fight during the underwear incident of Karuizawa last year.

“Why are you here too?” Hachiman asked using a question mark. ’Because at this time, Shinohara also joined chat. This was actually a very bad thing, because it would be very embarrassing if too many people knew that Isshiki was isolated. Look, girl now seemed to be looking at the clock on the side, probably waiting for her part-time job to be over and then running away. This discovery has been publicly executed....’

But Shinohara is obviously not that good at reading the atmosphere.

“I came to see if there is any instant noodles, so I can prepare a meal later. But what I just said, you can try this Kouhai. As long as we form a team successfully, even if it’s a small of only two or three people, it will become easy.” Shinohara said using tone full of confidence.

But even though she said it easily, Hachiman felt.. this girl might have done just that.

’In other words, she joined Karuizawa’s small team with a purpose in mind....I just want to know. Hot girls and the like have a very low status in general class. So she would join Karuizawa’s small team, right... She felt this team was not up to par from beginning and then it was easier for her to fit in. Then you can bind together and have a place to stay.’

“.....” Hachiman reached several conclusions.

’Karuizawa is a fake hottie. The strong appearance is just an act.

But Matsushita is not a hottie at all, and she deliberately hides her abilities.

Aren’t you, Shinohara, actually a genuine hottie?

So, are these people thrown in Class D mostly fake? You all are just selfish!’
