COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Let’s put tents and the like aside for now. Students of Class 2A are selling supplies at starting point, and Class 2A is charging private points, so we can go back there and buy more.”

Although, students in Ryuen’s class live a relatively poor life, this time, Hikigaya gave each of them 50,000 personal points as living expenses before exam.

So, can also afford the cost of purchasing supplies.

As for Ibuki, she will receive a dividend of perhaps 4 million after the exam.

This money was enough for her to spend freely.

“Okay then,” Ibuki said immediately.

At the same time, as a girl, although she had no objection to taking exam seriously, she felt uncomfortable not being able to take a shower all the time.

These days, the most Ibuki do is take a small basin to get some water to wipe her body.

According to manual distributed on the ship, there are shower facilities at departure point.

So, Ibuki also wanted to go back and wash first.

“Komiya, Shinohara, what do you think?”

“I have no objection,” Shinohara originally came here to curry favor with others, and she had never thought about top three.

But now she is ranked 33rd, and is already very satisfied.

So, immediately decided to follow orders.

“I agree too,” Komiya, who was chosen by Shiina-san for his high obedience, said immediately.

Then everyone passed.

So, four of them went straight back to tent and tore it down.

The school’s starting point is A7, Hachiman and others are now in F4.

It will take most of the day to get there directly.

Everyone wanted to return to starting point to rest, so no one complained of being tired even though the journey was longer.

After walking for about two hours, Hachiman suddenly stopped.

’There is a course that is only a dozen minutes away from where I am now. Although I am not sure if I can still catch up with course registration if I rush there now, I can get a few more points, so that I can relax later.....’

The four of them started heading to subject with packs on their backs.

However, speed of carrying luggage is indeed a bit slower.

It took Hachiman and his team more than 20 minutes to reach the task site.

The content of topic is ”measuring grip strength” according to male and female competitions.

In other words, it is simply a test of strength of force. Our own people know their own business.

Hikigaya knew that he had great endurance, but his stamina and strength were also slightly better than the average boy, so he might not have been able to get good grades in past.

But Ibuki is the stronger one among the girls. So, you can arrange her to attend.

However, when Hachiman and others arrived, they saw an acquaintance.

That is homeroom teacher of Class 2-B, Miss Hoshinomiya, who has a lovely appearance and looks a little bit dizzy.

She is currently staying under a tent to avoid the heat and wait for orders.

Around 20 students from grades one to three can also be seen.

She was quite good at dealing with people and gave each student who came to participate in the project a paper cup of water.

Remember this is her own water.

However, no one would hate her if she violated some rules slightly.

Hachiman had commented to Chie a long time ago that he thought she was a plus version of Kushida, who really likes to be a good girl and get gratitude from others, and have those dazzling moments of being noticed.

And now it seems that same is true for Teacher Hoshinomiya Chie.

However, he was a little luckier because Hoshinomiya Chie and Chabashira were best friends, but he always felt that one of them was more like the type who would stab others in the back.

So it’s a good thing that Kushida-chan didn’t inherit Hoshinomiya’s bad habits.

“Hello, Hikigaya-kun~!”

While listening to words of thanks from the students around her, Chie quickly noticed Hikigaya and his group who were rushing over here.

She greeted directly.

“Hikigaya-kun, you’re here. Unfortunately, registration closed about five minutes ago.....Meow!”

That’s it. So, he came here in vain.

Hachiman and the others were ready to turn around and leave, but found that she had grabbed his arm tightly.

She used a lot of force. But kept a sweet smile on her face.

“There’s no need to be so anxious. You’re free to come and watch,” It was like she was trying her best to sell him something.

“I think it’s a problem that teachers are taking away students’ time for their own convenience.....” Hachiman knows how to handle these people very well.

“Eh, eh~ Are you exaggerating~? We still have plenty of time──” Chie started to play dumb.

In fact, she is responsible for measuring grip strength.

To hold a competition, participants are required to use a handgrip dynamometer to measure the numbers.

There is also no best of three.

Students are allowed to test their grip strength up to three times, and then one with the highest number wins.

In other words, this is a fairly simple test, so there is no need to observe it.

Hoshinomiya also knew that if she couldn’t come up with anything, Hikigaya-kun would leave.

At the same time, she was not stupid enough to notice that all of Hikigaya’s team members were carrying rather bulky backpacks, which meant they must have tents inside.

’It looks like you are going to travel through mountains and rivers...So, project that came to me this time just happened to come by chance! I must seize this opportunity!’

“Well, Hikigaya-kun, don’t leave. I have something extra to tell you later......” Having said that, she headed to where the participating students were gathered.

Then, went through test content honestly.

“So, what do we do next?” Just now everyone saw Hoshinomiya grabbing Hikigaya’s wrist.

Because of her friendliness, people almost misunderstood her as a peer rather than a teacher.

And realizing that Chie is a teacher, does that mean Hachiman should accept commission now?

“Generally speaking, teachers cannot interfere too much during our exams.....” In other words, Hachiman can ignore Chie’s unreasonable demands.

But Hachiman felt that if he refused the other party, it might cause more trouble for him.

For example, experience the feeling of Horikita Suzune being entangled by Kushida when she entered school, “But other party may get us in trouble, so let’s stop for a while. We have been traveling for more than two hours.”

“Then let’s take a rest first,” Shinohara was calm. So, girl sat down directly under a tree stump.

Komiya immediately turned on his dog-licking mode and took out some dried meat for Shinohara.

Ibuki took out her tablet and started checking grades, “Horikita’s score is really bad....”

Because she is currently ranked 89th.

You have to know that half of 33 people including Hachiman were working hard and other just slacking off.

Suzune’s personality means that she is not the type to slack off.

So, current results are very strange.

“Something must have happened,” Come to think of it, he hadn’t seen Horikita during four days of exams.

’The people who teamed up with Horikita were Onodera and Sakura. Onodera’s physical fitness is also excellent, so it seems there is no need to worry....As for Sakura, although she has made great progress after receiving physical training from Kamuro-san, an exam of this intensity is still a huge test for her. I don’t know if she encountered any difficulties. Even Horikita should know that only the top three in exam are valuable, so rest of the rankings don’t matter. So as long as it is not 0 points, then you win....’

“Then I’ll announce the first place.”

“It’s Kiryuin Fuka from Class 3B. Congratulations on winning the 5-point reward.”

“Then are the ingredients for dinner. You have six types to choose from, including grilled food, soup-making food, ready-made bento boxes and instant noodles. If you choose instant noodles, you can choose 3.”

The examination of Chie was over and the rewards were being distributed.

Boys and girls are tested separately.

Hachiman noticed that first place winner in the girls’ group had long straight silver-white hair.

Having such long hair would make it inconvenient to move.

So, during the few days that Hachiman has been on the island, he has met many girls who have tied their hair up into single or double ponytails.

But this senior girl didn’t.

Still with silver hair and a shawl, Kiryuin looked quite free and easy.

But she didn’t wear a red sports jacket, but a white short-sleeved shirt like everyone else.

Hachiman also noticed that her shoes were clean.

’It doesn’t look like she’s been traveling on a muddy road. But she actually came here, seems to be an expert. And this senpai.....’ Hachiman took out his own tablet.

Clicked on other party’s Bio.

Grade 2, Class B, Kiryuin Fuka

Academic ability (95) A+

Physical ability (93) A+

Intelligence D (43)

Social Contribution C+ (58)

’Her data is unique. In OAA, she is the second best student in school, besides monster Koenji, who has A+ in both academic and physical ability...If you only look at the results, then it can be said that she and Koenji are evenly matched.’

’Female Koenji. Single team. Rank 11th.....It stands to reason that such a beautiful girl has strong individual action ability, so let alone the subject points, just four times a day in the designated area to check in and score points, she is a group, can get a lot of extra points. The score should be rising.....But it didn’t. In other words, is she deliberately controlling the score?’

“By the way, your muscles are very explosive,” At this time, Hoshinomiya awarded the first place to the boys.

While doing strength exercise, the boy took off his coat, revealing his well-trained and very strong muscles.

Looks quite stylish.

“No.” This junior seemed more polite.

“Utomiya from Class C, 1st year,” Ibuki happened to be looking at a tablet, so she directly informed Hachiman of the information of this junior, “He has a very strong ranking....”

This junior was also in a solo group, but his score ranked among top ten.

You know, Ryuen’s team is only ranked 9th. But, this Utomiya directly took 6th place.

“He should be in good physical condition,” As a human observer, Hikigaya-kun came online.

’This junior’s physical fitness in the OAA data is also at A level. It can be compared with Sudo. However, Sudo is currently ranked 77th. Obviously, It is impossible to easily get a large number of points just by relying on physical strength. But this boy is from Class C of 1st grade.....’

What Hachiman was thinking about was junior school girl named Isshiki Iroha who looked a bit like his own sister and whom he saw in the small boat when No. 8 landed.

’That schoolgirl was obviously excluded and isolated by the students in her class. So, does this seemingly polite and strong junior Utomiya know about this?’

But at this time, Miss Hoshinomiya had already finished distributing the rewards.

She seemed to be driving the students away and walked over.

Hachiman immediately became extremely alert.
