COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

After deciding to go [English Test], Hachiman’s team immediately began to take action.

The problem was soon exposed.

That is, everyone carries a backpack, and each contains a tent, drinking water, compressed biscuits or dried meat, as well as personal daily necessities, raincoats, etc., which weighs more than 20 kilograms.

Walking for an hour only makes you feel tired, but walking for two or three hours in a row is just wasting your energy.

And Komiya was carrying two on his back.

Whether they were going to pick up Shinohara or to participate in the project, they were all carrying heavy burdens forward.

So, maybe it would be much easier to choose a location as a temporary base at the beginning, put down your luggage, and then travel light.

However, English test topic was already ahead, so Hachiman could only put the weight-bearing problem behind him for the time being.

Fifty minutes later, Hachiman’s group finally arrived at English test area.

From a distance, they could see nearly a dozen first-year and two groups of third-year students, but as for his own grade, there was only their group.

”Hikigaya-senpai!”

“Hikigaya-senpai is here!”

Hachiman had just arrived when he was greeted by the first-years.

“Hikigaya-kun is really popular,” Look, even Shinohara passed a comment like that.

In fact, Hachiman felt that it was unnecessary.

Because 1st-year students here are basically from Class D.

Their class evaluation scores were returned to 0 following Hosen.

There is no living expenses.

So if nothing is done, first graders will be hungry this month and may continue to be hungry.

Hachiman asked them to collect item cards, and rewarded each of them with 50,000 personal points, and at the same time gave them each 100,000 points.

This means that even if there is no living expenses coming in for next two or three months, you can still live more comfortably.

As their financial sponsor, Hikigaya-senpai would of course be more popular.

“Are you the only ones here?”

“We’re starting from area A3. Hosen teamed up with Nanase-chan!”

“That’s not their starting point,” A real boy student said honestly.

However, this student’s academic ability is average. It is a bit strange that he would take a written test.

However, Hachiman soon discovered that after arriving at subject area, there would be a teacher in charge.

Each teacher had a tent with some supplies and props, tools related to the subject exam they were responsible for.

Then, water dispenser. Teacher is drinking from a paper cup.

The first-year students who arrived went to teacher in charge.

The teacher frowned and held paper cup, but still poured the water into...

After getting water, students actually started moving without staying to take the exam.

“.....”

So these first-year students are aiming for other subjects and are just passing by here to get some water.

The teacher in charge also noticed this and stopped distributing water.

However, students were provided with power banks, which allowed them to recharge battery of their tablets.

And you can actually see several students taking their tablets to charge, obviously they didn’t expect to need the tablets to take exam at first.

Yesterday the tablet had little power and was not replenished in time.

Hachiman’s tablet still had half the battery left, but because he had just turned up brightness of the display to the highest level to confirm information, he might as well recharge it first.

“The 60-minute project participation time is up. No new registrations will be accepted from now on.”

“There are five groups involved in total. Different grades will use different examination papers.”

Hachiman followed the instructions and went to small table prepared by the other party to wait for papers to be distributed.

Ibuki and others sat under a tree nearby waiting to rest.

Hachiman started to do questions.

It’s a bit of a pity, because Hachiman thought he would meet Horikita Suzune here.

The result is no.

“The test will last 30 minutes. Now begin.”

After distributing, Hachiman took the test together with other four groups of people who were taking English test.

There is no listening comprehension, only 30 multiple-choice questions and 10 cloze questions.

30 minutes is more than enough time.

After distributing papers, the teacher in charge stood aside and watched the students.

Hachiman noticed that other party seemed to have stopped beside him.

This feeling is quite familiar.

Because the teacher in charge was none other than former homeroom teacher, Chabashira Sae.

Didn’t expect to meet again in this way.

Perhaps considering that she was the teacher who would be in charge of project on the island, Miss Chabashira also changed into same sportswear as the students.

It seemed a bit new to Hikigaya-kun, who was used to seeing her in work clothes.

Although he didn’t meet Suzune, Hachiman felt that he actually had a sense of belonging with Chabashira being the homeroom teacher.

The subject is finished.

Because none of the other groups participating in subject had an absolute top student, Hachiman’s group won first place and received a 5-point reward.

At the same time, also received a portion of food for three people.

It was a barbecue dish, including lamb skewers, kidneys, squid, leeks, cauliflower and gluten.

Looks pretty good.

However, Hachiman and the others did not leave immediately, but were curious to find that Chabashira Sensei herself did not leave either.

According to her, she will be here in the afternoon as well.

Even tomorrow will be here.

In other words, this is what is written in examination rules. The number of topics that appear each day is uncertain, and content of the questions is random and uncertain.

You can only be given one syllabus at most, but there will be repeated topics.

This also eases the difficulty of teachers’ work.

Otherwise, more than a dozen groups of people would have to run around with tools and props every time.

“Then will test papers for the English exam that Chabashira-sensei is in charge of be changed?”

”No.” Chabashira denied it on spot.

This is good news.

This means that next time you take Chabashira-sensei’s English test, you don’t have to use your brain, you can just fill in the previous answers.

However, it still needs corrections from top students.

After all, a person’s academic ability is limited, and Hachiman just got 76 points.

If a top student comes, first place will belong to his opponent.

But this seems to be a loophole if the top students are allowed to take this kind of written test and then asked to write down their answers.

Then if you encounter repeated exams, even if you are a poor student, you may still get a rank if you have memorized the answers.

However, Hikigaya-kun had no interest in participating in this kind of plan that could only make a little money.

xxxxx

Everyone prepared to take a break and prepare ingredients for three people.

After walking for more than two hours, each of them consumed a bottle of water and was hungry.

Earlier, saw the first-year students trying to get free water from Chabashira-sensei, while Shinohara and the others were eyeing her barbecue grill.

The ingredients obtained can be grilled directly or in a conventional way.

However, they didn’t have a barbecue grill, so had to do as Ryuen did.

After catching fish, they would first make a small fire, pierce it with a thin wooden stick, and then grill it next to the small fire.

This requires a lot of skill, and it would be much more convenient if you have a barbecue grill.

“I’m so full,” Komiya sat under the tree.

“As expected, things that are obtained through hard work are delicious,” Hikigaya-kun was also very satisfied.

They took advantage of Chabashira-sensei’s barbecue grill for free and also borrowed the seasoning from her.

However, everyone just ate and rested for a while, and then quickly started to act.

That is to pitch a tent.

Hachiman originally decided to head to river and pitch his tent there for the night.

’Now I find that Chabashira-sensei will stay here and camp, and area chosen by the teachers must be safe and comfortable....At the same time, she also has free chargers. And the other party will stay here tomorrow, and she will continue her English course. So, topic is right at my doorstep. Why not take the points you get for free?’

The disadvantage of carrying a lot of luggage that Hachiman had considered before can also be solved.

By setting up the tent first, he can choose to go into battle lightly.

As for bags, since tent is not far from Chabashira Sensei’s, can ask her to help look after it.

This is free of charge for one more person to watch.

So it’s basically decided to use this area as campsite for tonight.

xxxxx

It was afternoon.

At exactly 2 o’clock, tablet received a message from school’s second designated check-in area.

But the location is far from here, and it takes more than 2 hours to walk, which exceeds the clock-in time.

So everyone gave up going to the designated area to clock in.

Instead, waiting for the topic to reappear.

As long as the subject is unfolded, it will not disappear until it is completed.

The map is now blank, with no topics showing.

”I can’t check my grades yet.” Ibuki frowned as she looked at the tablet.

”Do you have someone you care about?” Hachiman was a little curious.

’Because generally speaking, only those who work very hard would want to know whether their efforts are rewarded. In other words, you want to know the results of a specific subject.....’

“I want to see Horikita Suzune’s results. I’ll get more points than her in this exam!”

It’s Horikita Suzune. Hachiman looked at Ibuki with some surprise.

He remembered that in last year’s grade-wide sports, Ibuki was also determined to compete with Horikita.

“Do you have any relationship with Horikita?”

“Relationship? What’s that?” However, Ibuki looked at him like an idiot, “I just used Horikita as a mirror...She has similar physical abilities to me, and she’s also learned martial arts, so looking at her is like looking in a mirror. I want to surpass myself!”

To surpass yourself and defeat, then find someone similar to yourself as a target, and then defeat that person, which is equivalent to defeating yourself.

Although, Hachiman cannot understand Ibuki’s train of thought, as long as she is happy about this kind of thing, that’s all that matters.

Hachiman thought that Suzune was being targeted by Ibuki, but that turned out not to be the case.

Felt a little relieved.

xxxxx

Other side.

By the river.

A girl with beautiful straight black hair was looking at the river in a daze.

The water was relatively clear and her shadow could be seen clearly.

But this water cannot be drunk directly. ’Since, I can see frogs moving around by the water, does that mean there may be eggs in the water? So let’s make a filtering device.’

“The second designated area has appeared.”

Horikita Suzune was staring at the river in a daze when a girl with rustic pink twin ponytails walked towards her.

The opponent’s speed is a little slower, but it doesn’t mean that she is completely useless.

This is Sakura Airi.

Horikita’s group is a group of three, she, Sakura, and Onodera.

She and Onodera both have good physical fitness, she and Hachiman also reviewed the knowledge of wilderness survival last year, so this kind of exam now can come in handy.

Theoretical knowledge without practice also finds its place.

For example, there was a filtering device on ship that sold for 4,000 supply points.

According to what Suzune knew, when she got to the island, she could use an empty mineral water bottle, some sand, gravel, and a piece of wood to burn into charcoal, and finally use a layer of gauze.

If there was no gauze, she could use unworn socks to make a simple filtering device.

“The second designated area?” Horikita-san turned around, took the tablet from Sakura, and found that second designated area was quite close to them.

If you walk quickly, it only takes about 30 minutes.

Originally, Suzune and Onodera teamed up because Hirata had given them certain ambitions.

Hope they can get some points.
