COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Hachiman was indeed deep in thought now.

He was not surprised that Sakayanagi would take care of the meals, because she had always done so in school.

’Now I suddenly realize it. Why did Sakayanagi insist on treating me to a meal?’

At one point, Hikigaya-kun thought that other party might be pursuing him.

”Sakayanagi-san is so generous!” Shinohara took over the topic, ”Um...” now girl seemed very curious, ”Although everyone knows that you are dating Horikita-san. But, during lunch break, you seem to eat with Sakayanagi-san. Which one is your true love?”

Then she looked over with curiosity.

”.....” Hachiman. ’What the hell is wrong with you? There is no such thing as Mrs. Right. Anyone who is willing to support me can be regarded as true love. And right now, only Kushida and Ichinose are more reliable. Wait a moment.’

The relationship between Hachiman and Horikita was clear to him.

’It is to prevent Horikita from being harassed, so if ordinary classmates think we are dating, so be it. Then, relationship between us is like a shield. But, Sakayanagi, here...’

”...Do you think Sakayanagi likes me?” Hachiman found it unbelievable.

”Isn’t it?” Shinohara looked at him strangely, ”Hikigaya-kun, you are just back to the starting point. But, Sakayanagi-san called you away quickly, didn’t she? And now, food has been delivered to us..This must be because you are here!” girl said firmly.

But this made Hikigaya frown.

’In other words...Is it possible that I didn’t misunderstand? Sakayanagi, maybe she likes me?’ When thinking of this, Hachiman was somewhat repulsed. After all, he had a dark history.

When he was in junior high school, he misunderstood that his classmate Kaori Orimoto might have some interest in him, and he also fell into the trap of pursuing the other party.

’Finally I confessed my feelings, but was misunderstood. Not only was I rejected, I even scared the other person....Her explanation was that we had hardly spoken a word and she was shocked by the sudden confession.’

”....” So this became Hikigaya-kun’s dark history.

’It is even believed that adolescents are prone to misunderstandings. That a girl likes you, and she is gentle to you, but you think that is her unique love for you, but it turns out not to be the case. She treats others the same way. Therefore, some things I still need to ask Sakayanagi for clarification.’

”Speaking of which,” Hachiman stopped the person delivering the ingredients, ”Can Kamuro-san also use this stuff as she pleases?”

”Kamuro-san?” The student was stunned, but answered quickly, ”She has always used the ingredients at will, and Sakayanagi-san agreed to it. The expenses are paid by our Princess herself. But we ordinary students need to keep accounts.....”

’Sakayanagi is very clear about the divisions and will not give privileges to classmates to use supplies at will. The use of materials by classmates also needs to be recorded. But Kamuro-san is different. Sakayanagi pays for her expenses. So, Kamuro-san also has the same privileges as me. Then, we should be treated equally. It turned out to be a misunderstanding. I almost thought that Sakayanagi’s attitude towards me was unique.....’

Other side.

Shower room.

Sakayanagi is taking a bath.

At this point, she and Kamuro-san were the only ones inside.

Sakayanagi sat on a low stool while her pet was washing her hair, ”Kamuro-san, your technique is becoming more and more proficient.”

~hehe! Kamuro-san curled her lips.

She is also a person with backbone.

’Although I am kept by Arisu Sakayanagi, but since I have accepted other party’s money, will do things well. Especially, there are too many girls in the class who want to be Sakayanagi’s dogs, especially that classmate Ai Morishita, who seems to want to develop on her own and then squeeze me out of the position by making some achievements. It’s simply heartless. Moreover, other party just happened to know that Sakayanagi is Daughter of the chairman, so is it possible for her to lick her like this?’

Kamuro-san looked down on Ai Morishita, girl was too utilitarian.

’You know, I knew very early on that Sakayanagi was chairman’s daughter, who even promised me that as long as I continued to be her dog after graduation, would have a good pay future job arranged for me. But so what?’ Kamuro-san knew that she still had some backbone, and also had her own ambitions.

She wanted to graduate normally as a student in Class A, then go to university she wanted, and get a good job.

Salary she would get by then would definitely be much higher than what she would earn by staying with Sakayanagi!

”By the way, will Hikigaya-kun stay at the departure point for two more days?” Sakayanagi said very cutely at this time.

”.....” Kamuro-san. ’Who knows. Just don’t ask me to get food for Hikigaya during this time....’

The time she has been out for is a bit too long.

Now, Kamuro-san is worried about her cat. She wonders if the cat will feel lonely staying in the dormitory alone.

But one thing is also very intuitive.

’That is, for this exam, they stayed at the starting point, but girls that Hikigaya was close to had not returned to starting point to replenish supplies. It’s quite amazing.’

Had a hearty meal.

Hachiman and others suddenly became free.

The tablet was charged.

’However, I don’t have my cell phone with me, nor do I have any other electronic products, so the only things I can use are books.....Some of the supplies for Sakayanagi’s class were very expensive, but they also prepared some books. They had packed it up and brought it down from the library on the ship. There are many books on how to survive in the wild. It’s the kind of content that even if you can’t do it after watching it, it’s still somewhat interesting.’

Books can be rented at a very low price, and this is probably something President Sakayanagi has considered to provide convenience to students.

At the same time, there are no mobile phones, so reading becomes the best way to pass the time.

Hachiman also borrowed two books.

One is Bear Grylls’ Wild: Man vs. Wild, and other is Day and Night.

Among them, ”White Night Walk” mainly tells story of the love-brained male protagonist who keeps making mistakes and taking negative consequences for female protagonist.

In the end, he found out that he was the one who influenced heroine to be more glamorous, so he chose to commit suicide.

A complete love-brained person.

It was because of this book that Hikigaya-kun felt like a weirdo.

Recently, his mind has been filled with things related to love.

When it comes to love, Hikigaya-kun is not completely inexperienced anymore.

’The current tablet function has not yet unlocked the GPS positioning, otherwise I could go look for Kushida....’

When he found Kushida, Hachiman remembered that she and Ichinose were in the same group, so could also take a look at Ichinose’s situation.

That’s good.

Hachiman took out a pen and a small notebook and began to write down the supplies that would be needed for trip tomorrow, taking into account the fact that Kushida and others might not have enough supplies.

So, maybe girls need some support.

”I’ll give you 200 personal points.”

’But when I came to return a book, I found that person working on duty here was a cute girl with short straight brown hair.’

”You are......”

”Ah... it’s Hikigaya-senpai, right?” However, this cute girl directly pointed out Hachiman’s name, ”I’m Isshiki Iroha from Class C, first grade. We met before downstairs of the second grade teaching building.”

”.....” Hachiman.

It was obvious they were on same boat on 8th to starting point of D7.

So, met there too.

But Hachiman found this school girl was calling him ”Senpai” and looking at him in a very cute manner.

Those clear pupils were filled with the message ”Please pay attention to the atmosphere and don’t say anything inappropriate.”
