COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Let them rest first,” The doctor said after seeing them. Then he said to the two teachers, “We have decided to take them back for treatment. The ship has a better environment.”

“It seems this is the only way,” Teacher Sakagami could just nod.

“Then I will be responsible for getting them on the ship,” Shinohara Satsuki is a student in Chabashira’s class, so of course it is her responsibility to escort them.

“So teachers, are you sure they were attacked?” Hikigaya decided to pursue main topic after health is taken care of.

“What do you mean?” Chabashira looked over. Hikigaya used to be her favorite student.

“Students have been harmed in this way. As a member of Student council, I can’t just stand by and watch. So, I want to retrieve the nearby surveillance footage.”

Although, number is not that large, we can still conduct a random survey.

“So you want to find the criminal who attacked these two people..I will report this to my superiors. I can’t reply to you right now. But...”

She paused again.

“I’ll leave a phone with you. If I retrieve the surveillance footage, I’ll send it to you. But other things can’t be used indiscriminately.”

Obviously. There was an unexpected situation where a student was attacked and injured, and even Chabashira found it difficult to deal with it.

So in order to prevent more problems, she would rather do something illegal, such as lending her cell phone to Hikigaya first.

On the one hand, it is a request made by Hachiman. Request a thorough investigation of monitoring.

So you can give your phone to the other party, retrieve the surveillance footage and send it to this phone, and then other party can make the judgment.

On the one hand...if you are really in danger, you can immediately use your mobile phone to contact other teachers.

So it can be considered as a life-saving talisman for Hikigaya-kun.

“I didn’t bring my cell phone. I can’t ask Chairman to retrieve the surveillance footage,” At this time, Sakagami didn’t think Chabashira had just violated the rules.

He just felt a little depressed that he had just rushed here without bringing his cell phone.

And he realized things were getting serious.

Although Chairman Tsukishiro said that small-scale conflicts were allowed, extent of the criminal was already a violation.

If Komiya and Shinohara had not been discovered in time, or if had fallen from a higher place, they might have lost their lives.

Four medical staff carried Komiya and Shinohara onto stretchers respectively.

“Teacher, can I go back with you?” Ike with a dumb jealous brain, said at this time, “I am worried about Shinohara’s situation....”

“I see…” Chabashira looked at Ayanokoji. As the homeroom teacher, she knew how students formed teams.

Ike Kanji is a member of Ayanokoji’s group, who, on the other hand, had no expression on his face.

“Then can you confirm that you have given up here?”

“Okay!” Ike said immediately and resolutely, “I met Shinohara, but I didn’t protect her at all, so if I continued to take exam alone. I can’t do it.....”

“....” Ayanokoji.

“....” Yukimura.

They are still taking exam, and if you suddenly quit, you will put all the pressure on them.

You know, if everyone gives up, score will become 0.

After 0 points, you will have to compete with the five groups with 0 points in Class D of Grade 1 for last five places.

So Ike, you are very irresponsible.

At this time, two of them couldn’t say no.

After all, along the way, exams were sometimes tiring, and encountered snakes twice, but nothing as serious as what happened to Shinohara and the others.

So, just nodded.

Then everyone watched as Chabashira-sensei and others left with Komiya and his potential girlfriend.

Everyone returned to temporary camp.

The initial joy of having fresh ingredients for sukiyaki at noon suddenly turned dull.

“Wait a moment. The teachers should be sending us nearby surveillance footage soon.”

No one had any objection.

So, after waiting for about 40 minutes, Hachiman discovered there was a message notification in Chabashira-sensei’s email.

When clicked on it, saw several videos.

These are surveillance cameras nearby, and all footage captured were captured within past 2 hours.

“I didn’t see the criminal.”

Two of cameras captured two or three groups of people, but they did not match the pattern of heading to place where Komiya was almost killed.

When photo was taken again, what was captured was scene of Hachiman and others.

But they were the ones who went to find Shinohara.

’Perhaps the criminal avoided the camera,” Nanase poked the ground with a stick for a while and said, “Because the camera coverage is not comprehensive, like the position of Shinohara-senpai and Komiya-senpai just now, there is a mountain behind them. Maybe criminal avoided the camera by climbing it....”

“Would there be any criminal who would go through so much trouble to climb up mountain to attack?” Yukimura thought it was incredible. It would be very laborious.

“Um....” As she said this, Nanase stood up, “I’m sorry to have troubled you two yesterday and today. But I think it’s better to go back and act with my team....I’m really sorry to bother you these two days.”

After saying this, girl nodded at everyone, turned around and left with her backpack.

“Why is this girl so weird? I don’t like her personality at all,” Yukimura gave a negative comment.

But Hachiman didn’t say anything.

’This schoolmate’s target is Ayanokoji, but she herself is a person with a strong sense of justice. So, probably thought that Hosen was just dealing with Ayanokoji, and that innocent people were involved. She was very angry, so probably went back to confront Hosen....Could it really be him?’ Hachiman was thinking about the scene where he just discovered Shinohara and others.

’Just as Nanase said, there is a mountain behind. If the criminal climbs over from there, he can avoid the camera. But the mountain is very steep, and climbing up is like rock climbing, and there are no protective measures. Most people cannot and dare not climb it....Would Hosen really go to such great lengths to attack Shinohara and the others? You know, target is Ayanokoji. If he is discovered attacking Shinohara and the others, he will be expelled from school, transferred to juvenile after knife incident, will not do such a stupid thing....’

Hachiman also knew very well that reason why they could control the first-year Class D so completely this time was largely because of what he had said:

[The Student Council has authority to unconditionally expel a student].

’In other words, Hosen really doesn’t want to be expelled from school like this.....’

“Nanase has left...Speaking of which...” Yukimura finally got smart for once, “Ayanokoji, is it possible that it’s Hosen? Like maybe he knows we’re here or something like that...”

Because he had been a part of the agreement with Hosen before, had witnessed methods and was almost scared to death.

Then, Yukimura also learned that Hosen and others had received an anonymous mission, and that Ayanokoji could earn you 20 million personal points by dropping him out of school.

If 20 million is converted into cash, it would be 16 million, which is enough for a student to take the risk.

But Yukimura felt that it didn’t make sense. ’Because Hosen had undergone this kind of method before and it was photographed. Do you really have the guts to attack again?’

“I don’t know,” Kiyotaka said expressionlessly, so others cannot be sure what he is thinking.

“I have decided to go back to the starting point first. So I have to separate from you here. My two team members passively gave up....” Hachiman needs to recruit new people

“Then we...” Yukimura seemed a little hesitant. Ike also gave up because he had to go take care of Shinohara.

Then, only 2 people left in group.

“I will stay and continue the exam. Yukimura... we will split up if necessary. Or you can go back to the starting point with Hikigaya and others now,” Look even Kiyotaka also considered whether Shinohara and the others were attacked because of him.

So it was decided to separate Yukimura as well.

“No, I’ll stay,” Yukimura said quickly. ’Because leaving at this time would be like desertion. And I already knew that Ayanokoji was being targeted. So it would not be safe for me to leave now.....’

“Tonight at 0:00 it will be the sixth day, you can check the GPS. Then we can go find Hirata!”

’Find Hirata! He was also very strong in fighting before. It gives people a strong sense of security, and he also knows that Ayanokoji’s life has been offered as a reward for his expulsion from school. So, we need to stick together at times like this....’ Yukimura decided to hug people’s legs again.

Everyone had made a decision, so they parted ways without even having lunch.

Ibuki was arranged by Hiyori to team up with Hikigaya and they have been talking privately.

She needs other party to protect Hikigaya’s safety.

At first, Ibuki didn’t think there was any risk in this kind of exam. But now have begun to be vigilant.

Fortunately, there were no dangers along the way. Since left the starting point in the morning, journey back was not far.

After two hours’ journey, at 2 pm, Hachiman and his companions returned to the starting point.

“What a surprise.” Sakayanagi is still on her recliner.

Noticing that Hikigaya-kun and others had returned, she began to greet them happily.

But, Hachiman walked right past her and headed to the school’s supply station.

As he saw this morning, person in charge of today’s supply station is Hoshinomiya Chie, who has fluffy hair.

“Hikigaya ignored you just now,” It’s none other than Kamuro-san who was bringing watermelon to Sakayanagi.

“Baka!” But Arisu stood up holding her cane, “Something must have happened. This is the first time I’ve seen Hikigaya-kun like this.....”

Hachiman is a little angry now.

’Because if it is confirmed that it was While Room students who did it, then why did you go after ordinary students? Things have gotten so serious, what should we do if the exam encounters problems and cannot be carried out as scheduled? The main reason is that I found that Shinohara and others were not in good condition. If not, the situation would be worse....Although, I like to exploit and plunder points from this school for my own future development. However, I cannot ignore the safety of students.....’

Hachiman came in front of Chie with a dark look on his face.

“Sensei, can you show me the registration form for changing bracelets in past two days?”

According to rules of the exam, all students’ wristbands cannot leave their bodies or even be taken off.

However, also take into account some unexpected problems with the bracelet’s functions.

Therefore, once you find that bracelet is damaged, you need to arrive at the departure point within 24 hours to replace it.

The reason why Hachiman wanted to know the information on bracelet was very simple.

’If this was not done by Hosen and people got hurt by White Roomers, then risk that it might be pointed at others would need to be eliminated for everyone’s safety and profit. You won’t appear in the surveillance. The bracelet has a positioning function. Even if the video does not capture it, it is possible that suspect may have passed by the crime scene...So to deal with this problem, the only way is to break bracelet and destroy GPS positioning. Then, other party may come back to replace it.....So, I need to stay here if they still didn-----’

“No way,” But Hoshinomiya refused directly, “This has to be kept secret from the students. Although I want to tell you, this is my responsibility.”

This means that Chie Hoshinomiya also needs to abide by the rules.

“Well then,” Hachiman took out a cell phone from his pocket, “Hoshinomiya-sensei do you know whose cell phone this is?”

It was same model as the students’.

’White shell. Did Hikigaya come to the exam without submitting your cell phone? Hikigaya, you are cheating!’

But, Chie soon discovered there was a thumb-sized herringbone scar on back of the phone case.

She happened to know who person with this trace was, “Hehe...” Now seemed to smile.

“Then I’ll check it out,” Hoshinomiya Chie quickly changed the subject.

Apparently, rules mean shit to her. However, she probably hasn’t received any news yet.

Just seeing cell phone in Chabashira’s hand immediately made her excited.

So violations began, immediately took out the registration form.

“You’re right. After all, we’re trying to survive on an island. Although the wristbands distributed by school are of high quality, three students have replaced their wristbands in the past few days....”

Hachiman looked at the information on registration form.

Two of the messages were from acquaintances.

Yesterday at 11am, Utomiya from Class 1-C came to change his wristband.

1:30 today, before Hachiman and others came back, another person came back to change his bracelet.

The other party’s name is Yagami Takuya.

’Although I think this boy is a bit unreliable, surprisingly creepy to this extent.....’

“Hikigaya-kun, have you found any useful information?”
