COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Their class also made a leap forward and became A. It broke the school record.”

Obviously, in this exam, younger students, due to their lack of experience, were given permission to consult with the older students.

Utomiya and his companions did not miss this opportunity and asked for other information.

“....” Hosen wanted to say something, but when he heard the name Hikigaya, his scalp tingled.

Because it was this Hikigaya-senpai who caused him to lose nearly 20 million yen in protection fees that originally belonged to him in class.

If Ayanokoji drops out of school, his 20 million will be back! Hosen is quite confident about this plan.

In this way, several people carried out dark plans.

This time’s island exam lasts for 14 days, and school also allows small-scale conflicts, which is simply the right time, place and people.

Other side.

After Hachiman and Kushida separated on deck, they headed to respective groups.

The team members he was assigned by Hiyori were Ibuki and Komiya.

Time now is 9:02.

There are still 58 minutes of preparation time before being sent to the island at 10 o’clock.

But students were busy.

After finally learning the rules of exam from the assembly organized by Hiyori, people learned that each group can score points in 4 designated movements and tasks every day, but also learned that if everyone in the group slacks off and no one completes the designated area, points will be deducted if the number of times exceeds.

Finally, score was deducted to 0.

Although all students in the school paid protection fees, Class D of 1st grade paid for last five groups.

But at that time, last five groups of Class D in Grade 1 scored 0 points.

In other words.

If someone gives up halfway or is wiped out, they will get 0 points, and have to compete with the five groups in Class D of Grade 1 for bottom 5.

As a result, they may also be expelled.

....Damn.

You can’t play like this!

Therefore, all students now can only passively take this exam seriously.

It must be ensured that at end of the test, group score does not return to 0.

On the one hand, you can score points on island and reduce deductions.

On other hand, since you are living on the island, level of supplies must also keep up.

Otherwise, you will be forced to withdraw from exam due to dehydration, physical discomfort, or even starvation.

That would be unlucky and you would end up with 0 points.

Then when Hachiman arrived at place where he could buy supplies, the scene became like this.

A large number of students were queuing up to buy the supplies, and school had to add two more windows.

While waiting in line, Hachiman received a brochure of supplies from the staff.

It is somewhat similar to last year’s uninhabited island instruction manual, except that rules are printed on the manual, and there are supply points where you can choose to purchase from.

“Toiletries such as toothbrushes, undershirts, and underwear will be distributed free of charge. If they are insufficient, we will return to the starting point and the necessary quantity will be provided.”

“We will also distribute other essential items such as simple toilets, insect repellent spray, sunscreen, sanitary products, etc. for free, which are indispensable for students.”

That’s not all.

Hachiman held up instruction manual. It was more like a checklist.

Clearly marked prices.

Everything from tents to fishing rods, walkie-talkies, food and water are for sale, and the list of items available for purchase seems to be much longer than last year.

Even props for entertainment are still impeccably complete.

For example, there are fashionable swimsuits, beach balls and swimming rings.

Some products are also available for daily rental, and you can pay a certain amount of points according to your needs and borrow them at a cheap price.

But let’s not talk about fun first.

Living on an uninhabited island for two weeks will definitely lead to food problems.

Especially for water, which may be lifeline, 500 ml is 100 points, 1 liter is 150 points. 2 liters is also 250 points.

If it is doubled, it will be a very high point.

It should be noted that school is still kind.

That is, a supply point will be arranged at the starting point.

Although the price will double by then, it will provide some convenience to students.

For example, you can return to the starting point at any time to use toilet and shower room for free.

Even get some water there.

However, you cannot take water out, and you must drink it on the spot.

Even so, if something happens, there is still a place to stay, which gives students some peace of mind.

Ibuki was also looking carefully at the supplies that could be purchased in the manual.

She actually has no experience in surviving in the wild.

Otherwise, when they were on the uninhabited island last year, she wouldn’t have been completely unaware and had Kushida-chan take her various fruits to test poison.

“Then we’ll follow what Ryuen-san said about the basic supplies,” Komiya and his friends had just returned from the library, and as an expert in wilderness survival, Ryuen made a list of the supplies needed.

3 bottles of mineral water, a simple personal tent (two people of the same sex can buy one together), a stainless steel pot, a lighter, 28 portions of compressed biscuits or dried meat (for two meals a day) and a backpack.

And this list has already cost 3,500 supply points.

Last year, Hachiman made up for his lack of knowledge on wilderness survival.

Although he saw the list of supplies provided by Ryuen, he was not so optimistic.

Because according to Ryuen’s list, there were only three bottles of drinking water to carry with him.

According to him, from the map, it can be seen there is a stream in island.

So when the water supply is insufficient, you can go there to replenish it.

Are there so many people who can accept drinking water from the wild?

When Ryuen drinks water himself, he will make a filtering device using local materials.

But ordinary students may not be able to do this.

Although, you also followed the instructions in the manual to return to starting point to replenish water, there are only 100 areas on the entire island.

Who can keep returning to the starting point to replenish water?

So, 3 bottles of water are still not enough.

While waiting in line, there was no air conditioning in this area, so Hachiman could feel heat even on the boat.

The scorching sun was obviously baking the water surface and boat, so naturally same was true for the island.

Then you need to move quickly to the designated location to score points according to the instructions.

Both mental and physical exhaustion will be severe.

The risk of heat stroke and dehydration will also increase.

So even though Ryuen said that you could head to the water source to secure water after the exam begins, there is a possibility that people would collapse before you even reaches the water source.....

So, Hachiman brought it up in 2nd-year D class group.

The students chose to stock up on more water.

The amount of water each person can carry has been increased to 5 bottles.

At the same time, a bottle-type water purifier has been added to each group at a high price.

Everyone left at least 200 material points to provide for the GPS positioning search that would be opened on 6th day.

But even with this arrangement, it still seems stretched.

Because if they have the Lead Card, then supply points will go from 5,000 to 10,000.

Currently, apart from hands of Class A of second grade, there are very few Lead Cards out there.

So is Class 2A still not moving now?

They finally moved.

“Ding ding!”

Everyone’s mobile phone received a group text message.

It is said that Class A of Grade 2 is in the lead, which means that even if students cannot decide on supplies to be purchased in a short period of time, it doesn’t matter.

Class A of Grade 2 has gathered all the material points in class and purchased a large amount of supplies, which will be sold at starting point of the initial port.

The prices at school’s supply point will double after you get off the ship, but canteen at Class A, Grade 2, does not settle with supply points, but can be with private points.

In other words, everyone can replenish supplies according to the thickness of their wallets.

This is really good news.

This means that expensive simple water purifier costs 4,000 supply points to buy on the ship can be saved and can be purchased from the convenience store of Class 2-A after getting off the ship.

Looking at it this way, people immediately feel a lot more comfortable.

But Hachiman knew these students would soon find out Class 2-A was very evil.

The 5,000 material points issued by the school are different from the initial points based on classes last year.

The purchasing power of these 5,000 material points is equivalent to the value of private points in school.

In other words, to use material points, 100 material points are required to buy a bottle of mineral water.

But at the canteen of Class A, Grade 2, 100-point bottle of mineral water on the ship will require 500 or even 600 personal points to purchase.

Of course, you can choose to ask the school for water at starting point, but you cannot take the water away.

Therefore, although market of Class A in Grade 2 was affected, it did not disappear.

“The students in your class are really good at calculating.” While students were busy purchasing supplies, teachers were idle at this time.

They gathered together and waited for exam to begin before collecting the students’ cell phones.

So Mr. Sakagami said to Mashima with sourness in his heart, “You started with the material points got from school, exchanged them, and sold at a high price using personal points. Regardless of how your class perform in the exam, this income alone is enough for them to make a fortune....”

In fact, he couldn’t find a topic to talk about with Chabashira at ordinary times, so he turned to Hoshinomiya.

But, Chie was very mean.

The other party would only pay attention to you if the topic you liked was a topic that girl liked, or she would ask, “Did you say anything just now?”

“Sorry I wasn’t listening” or something like that.

So, Mr. Sakagami went to find Mashima from Class A.

He, Mashima, Hoshinomiya, and Chabashira were all students in same grade.

Both he and Mashima graduated from Class A.

As a result, now Mashima is teaching Class A, while he has become head teacher of Class D.

“…..” Teacher Mashima certainly knew that the students in his class were different from others.

So, it is normal to adopt some tactics. But he was also a little worried.

Since Sakayanagi and others chose to open a small shop, it means that most of students in Class A chose to give up on this exam.

Just get a decent grade.

But this is not a complete failure. He noticed that Sakayanagi arranged for Katsuragi to team up with Ryuen and Ishizaki Daichi.

Among them, Katsuragi brought Trial card.

If nothing unexpected happens, this is winning team that Sakayanagi has prepared.

In other words, Sakayanagi’s coaching style is still...very radical. Either you win fiercely, or there will be no way back.

But Katsuragi’s tactics have proven to be a failure in the past.

So, can only hope they can continue to develop on their own.

Materials have been exchanged.

Hachiman and others started to head towards the gathering point.

Each person carried a backpack.

The time is now 9:46.

There is not much time left before to get off the boat and put away our phones.

Hachiman noticed that one of his teammates, Komiya, seemed to be in a weird state.

Komiya, a tool in Sudo’s fight in past.

Very obedient.

“Look I……” But Komiya seems to be finding it difficult to speak now.

“Can’t you just say it directly?” Ibuki, on the other hand, seemed unkind.

Hachiman realized that something seemed to have happened that he didn’t know about.

“Actually...” Komiya said, rubbing his head, “When we get to the island, can we wait for Shinohara? She’s leaving from area D3. We’re leaving from D7. We should be able to meet her.”

“....Shinohara Satsuki, from my ex-class?”

“Yeah,” Komiya said shyly as if he was talking about his crush, “Actually, I want to team up with her.”

“.....” Hachiman. ’Judging from my immature experience, this is a sign of love.’

However, according to Hachiman and Hiyori who had previously witnessed her and Ike Kanji together, and their relationship seemed to be developing.

Now it has changed from a two-person to a triangle.

No wonder Kushida-chan said that love during school years is not guaranteed to be genuine at all, and probability of it being successful in the end is only 10%-15%.

“But school rules do not allow men and women to do anything inappropriate during the exam period,” Hachiman reminded this child’s excitement face wisely.

”No, it won’t develop into that!” Komiya said quickly to hide his deepest darkest secrets, “It’s just that Shinohara is on her own this time, and the rules say that if you fail to check in at mobile area a few times as instructed, you will be deducted points....Then she becomes dangerous on her own. So, I thought I could help her.”

There is another rule in exam. That is when the formal begins and the restrictions on team formation will be relaxed.

A maximum of 6 people can form a group.

If you have a prop card or a member-enhancing card, you can add 1 more person, making it a maximum of 7 people.

After forming a team, group’s score is calculated based on the total score, which includes the score of each team member.

For example, if Ibuki participated in a project and received 5 points, and Hachiman participated in another project and received 4 points, then total score of the group would be 9 points.

Then all members scored 9 points.

Then everyone participates in the mobile check-in in designated area, and everyone gets 1 point as long as they arrive.

If there are 6 members in team and all arrive, then each person can get 1 point, a total of 6 points.

It seems there is strength in numbers.

But it can also become a burden.

There will be additional rewards depending on the order of arrival.

The first three to arrive can get an extra 10 points, 5 points and 3.

The extra rewards here require the entire group to arrive.

Therefore, if there are many people in a group and some of them are slow, they can only watch other groups get points.

If you act alone, you are a team by yourself, so you can get extra rewards immediately.

Directly get a high score of 1+10 points!

Then if teams are formed in the middle of exam and both groups receive points, then after combination, scores of the two groups will be averaged.

This should suit Sakayanagi’s team.

Due to physical limitations, even though Sakayanagi’s team has an athletic person like Kamuro-san, their ability to score points will be limited.

Unable to get extra reward for group arrival.

However, if a group of tools are arranged to score points, and then team up with Sakayanagi’s group, final score obtained by her should be good.

Hachiman was thinking about something serious that had to do with exams instead of love.

“If you want to team up with Shinohara, I have no objection,” Hachiman is also from Class D.

’Of course, part of the reason is that... Shinohara is part of Karuizawa’s small team. During last year’s uninhabited island exam, Ibuki sneaked into my class as a spy, and then stole Karuizawa’s underwear in order to frame me! Then, Shinohara, as a friend of Karuizawa, came forward and demanded a thorough investigation. Ibuki, what do you think about Komiya inviting Shinohara to join this group? Do you think you can get along well with each other? Wouldn’t it be embarrassing?’

Ibuki probably doesn’t understand it at all. Because Hachiman found that she had no guilt towards him!

You are so shameless!

The thief who stole Karuizawa’s underwear, person who eventually got the real stuff, and the people who stood up for Karuizawa gathered together.

The makeup of this odd group is somewhat concerning.

Komiya was not good at reading the atmosphere, and he immediately started sending messages to Shinohara as if he had been pardoned.

They told her not to move after getting off the boat, and would go find her and form a team.
