COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Hikigaya-senpai.”

While heading to assignment together, she took the initiative to talk to Hachiman again, who didn’t respond to her.

“Um? In the next itinerary, are you planning to always act with Ayanokoji-senpai’s team?”

“Is there any problem if I do?” Hachiman’s tone was very rude, when he did give her a reply with a frown.

“Hikigaya-senpai’s group scored very high. Although it’s not nice of me to say it, but Ayanokoji-senpai’s group score wasn’t very high. If you continue to work together, then I think yours might go down.”

“Then your argument is really not very good,” Hachiman said disdainly while he looked towards Ayanokoji, this creepy boy who just remained quiet after saying “Yo” earlier.

So, he quickly focused his attention on junior Nanase whose motive was like advising Hachiman and Ayanokoji to separate.

’You must know she just called both of us as “best friends” Um....It can be confirmed from Kushida this Nanase wants to seek revenge on Ayanokoji in this exam, so she has to use violence....Now, proactive Speaking of her heart and character, girl is quite good. You don’t want irrelevant people to get involved.’

He looked towards Kiyotaka again.

“• •”

Got it.

“We will separate tomorrow morning, only moving together now because Shinohara is a student of Class C. She might feel uneasy if she keeps moving with people from other classes like us.....” Hachiman gave her shitty words.

’I see. It is to take other companions into consideration.’ Nanase actually nodded slightly.

“Come to think of it,” She was curious about something else, “Now that Hikigaya-senpai has left Class C, what is his attitude towards his old place?”

“Did your class teacher mention me?”

“Yes. Hikigaya-senpai is not only the vice president of student council, but he is also the only existence in school who has successfully transferred into another class. It’s just that my teacher probably doesn’t understand why you transferred from Class C to D. And I....”

She understands why Hachiman came to Class D.

’After all, first-year Class D is now the last five groups to take blame for exam, and students who are preparing to drop out with relatively good academic abilities in my class. Therefore, once these five people drop out, it will be a greater blow to Class D. But... compared to Hikigaya-senpai, we might have become his coin purse. Just by letting students in the class fill spots in the last five groups, Hikigaya-senpai received 20 million points. Everyone in the class was asked by him to carry a hitchhiking card and a Lead card. Then, before exam begins, all those who have item cards are required to bet on the group of Senior Koenji Rokusuke from Class C, 2nd year....And now. Open the tablet and click on ranking, you will find his group has always been ranked first. If nothing unexpected happens, Koenji-senpai will win first place. After seeing this, I understood a little. Hikigaya-senpai wants to do something big...If strength is most important thing to describe this school, he is very good at using it....’

“Senpai, haven’t you changed your mind about the previous question?” The junior school girl said innocently at this time.

“It’s about whether to use violence before, right?”

“Yeah,” Nanase’s face moved with excitement in her eyes. She wanted her methods to be justified.

“I support the use of violence. As long as it can solve the problem, I think it can be used.”

“I see…” Although Nanase stopped talking, Hachiman knew that she asked this question just to get some support.

’Her idea was definitely to use violence to solve the problem. But she doesn’t like Hosen’s violent methods and doesn’t want to compromise. But as Kushida suggested, she couldn’t go any further into Nanase Tsubasa’s heart. It wasn’t because her skills were not up to par, but Nanase was relatively simple, so it shouldn’t be difficult for Kushida to trick her into believing something was wrong....Therefore, Kushida feels that she cannot go any further, saying that Nanase Tsubasa’s heart cannot bear it anymore, and if she goes any further, the other party’s mental state will be worrying....In other words, this Kouhai was in so much pain and grief over the events of her childhood sweetheart that she even had mental problems. A short pain is worse than a long one. If you cannot sublimate here, you will only have a mental breakdown one day. So Nanase, just go and do what you think is worth doing....’ Hikigaya-senpai thought to himself, even though he was angry on being ignored earlier.

After walking for another twenty minutes, everyone arrived at the grip strength measurement area.

The teacher in charge of this project, Hachiman, has met once before.

Shiba.

In this 34-degree weather, other party was still wearing a green suit.

Coupled with his pot-lid-like hairstyle, it makes people feel hot just by looking at him.

Hachiman’s impression of him was that time when Hosen came to second grade without permission to provoke, and then as homeroom teacher, he went directly to apologize.

Only, at that time, Mr. Shiba gave Hachiman’s camera a dangerous feeling.

’If I were to describe it. It feels like the other person is an adult and we are all just primary school children...’

“There are still 15 minutes left before the registration time. How many groups do you have? Come over and register and fill out the form first.”

Shiba-sensei looked very serious.

He himself said that he had just started working at Advanced Nurturing High School this year, so he was not familiar with many things.

Then be polite to others. At least that’s what it looks like now.

At this time, a first-year student who was filling out a form heard the voice and turned around.

“What a coincidence,” The other party seemed to be in a good mood, “I actually met you here.”

This junior walked towards everyone, but only seemed to address just one person “Ayanokoji-senpai.”

“Who are you?” However, this was how Kiyotaka spoke to him.

~haha >>> So awkward!

“.....” This junior fellow, Yagami Takuya, shut up his mouth. There seemed to be silence in the air for half a second.

But Yagami maintained his usual innocent smile.

“I’m a first-year student in Class B, and my name is Yagami Takuya. I think Nanase-san should know me. But Ayanokoji-senpai, did I do something bad? Didn’t we meet on the ship before?”

“Really, I don’t have any impression of you. What’s your name? Sorry, I am not a good listener.....”

That’s right, Kiyotaka was bullshit’ in him with every chance he got for ruining his peace.

“....” Yagami Takuya’s sight fell on Nanase who too looked very helpless, and didn’t know what to say, “Isn’t Hosen-kun in your group? Why are you alone now?”

Although this sentence is a question, it is more like a reminder for Kiyotaka to recall.

Thinking back, he actually complained and secretly passed information to other party, telling that Hosen wanted to cause trouble.

Now that Nanase Tsubasa is in a group with Hosen but is following Ayanokoji alone, so, you have to be more vigilant.

But, Kiyotaka just nodded appropriately, as if he had just noticed it, “I’m not very good at remembering other people’s names.”

“• ! ?” Right, Yagami remained polite.

’This acting is probably worthy of a gold medal.’ Hachiman thought to himself.

’Because Ayanokoji is White Room’s genius, Masterpiece, it is impossible for him not to remember anyone’s information, so he was just pretending to not know Yagami and wanted to get information instead. This will confirm whether his true identity of being an Assassin....’ Hachiman confirmed early on that Yagami might also be White Room’s biological child.

’They are usually arranged by Chairman Tsukishiro to drop Ayanokoji out of school. However, it seems now that Yagami is not so calm in character, and may take action in this exam....my plan to arrange for Amasawa to fly with Isshiki might be shelved. I have to arrange for her to keep an eye on Yagami now....’ There are thoughts of a human observer.

Yagami can fight against Ayanokoji, and Hachiman has no objection to this, because this is their internal matter.

Besides, he also does not think that Ayanokoji will lose. ’But please don’t let it affect my exam this time. I would not let a one hundred million dollar plan come to a halt because of you guys....’

“The registration time is over,” Shiba-sensei announced without any emotions in his voice.

Boys and girls were divided into two teams.

A maximum of 2 members can participate in a group.

It was just right for Hachiman’s group.

He could participate in boys’ measurement, while Ibuki was arranged to participate in girls.

The first person to be measured was Takuya Yagami. Noticing, that his right hand was holding dynamometer.

“It seems that my grip strength is not very good.....”

The indicator needle of the dynamometer began to move as he exerted force, but it stopped at 45kg and could not move further.

In Yagami’s OAA data, his academic ability is B+, but his physical ability is only C, so it seems that his muscles are not very good.

“Do you want to try again?” Mr. Shiba, who is in charge of this project.

“No need,” But Yagami Takuya shook his head as if accepting his defeat, “This is my final result. My physical fitness is not very good. If I use too much energy now, I won’t be able to participate in other courses later....”

“Sure,” So he wrote down Yagami’s grip strength score.

“Let me be the next one,” Kiyotaka who rarely said anything, decided to also took the initiative to move forward.

“Oh? Ayanokoji-senpai, do you want to show off? I heard that you shined at sports festival last year,” Yagami said excitedly, and took the initiative to hand the dynamometer to him.

This junior Yagami talks a lot.

It seems like he wants to talk more with Ayanokoji, who seemed to not understand why other party was so familiar with him, and nodded silently.

“My strength is just average,” Saying this, Kiyotaka grasped dynamometer in his right hand.
