Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1039: Chapter 75: Suspicion (Part 3)

”What about us?” Qi Xuefei spoke up, ”Are all of us here trustworthy?”

Wang Lei’s expression dropped: ”Why bring this up, it’s not good for internal unity!”

”Not talking about it is more harmful, right?” Wen Guixin rolled her eyes, ”Since it’s been brought up, let’s solve it quickly, otherwise it’ll always be a thorn in our hearts.”

”True, hey, Brother Xin, why did you bring this up.” Zhao Xiaochuan said wearily, ”I’ve been thinking about this. I feel the likelihood among us is probably low, but others...”

He pointed outside.

Those survivors who came to seek refuge really can’t be guaranteed.

”Let’s first ensure we are alright; to be honest, those people don’t matter since we don’t share confidential information with them.” Qin Yunlong proposed, ”What do you say, we’re all members of the original team, if Xu Ying met us, wouldn’t she feel familiar?”

Qin Yunlong pointed to his own face and then to the face of Qin Yunhu, who was silent beside him.

”If it’s proven that we’re members of the original team, we should be the ones sent by that organization. As such, after being injected with the gene serum, we are definitely safe, right?”

His suggestion made everyone nod.

”Indeed.” Xu Xin glanced at Qin Fu, who was standing by the window, pondering with a frown, ”Qin Fu has already been recognized by Yingying.”

”Hmm? Me?” Qin Fu raised his head, his expression showing a bit of surprise, ”Last night? But I didn’t seem to see her, right.”

Zhao Xiaochuan and the others all turned their heads to look at Qin Fu.

”Your sister saw him?” Qi Xuefei said in amazement.

”Didn’t see him, right?” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Qin Fu with a hint of envy in her eyes, ”After coming out of that cave, I took him along.”

Back then Xu Ying clearly said she didn’t know Lou Fei’Er, which means Lou Fei’Er wasn’t a member of the original team, making her openly envy Qin Fu.

”His voice was heard, and with Yingying’s ability, she might have seen him. In any case, Qin Fu is indeed a member of the original team, while Lou Fei’Er and Shi Wanyun are not.”

Lou Fei’Er pouted upon hearing this.

Zeng Tao, who hadn’t spoken much due to tiredness, perked up at this point, nudged Lou Fei’Er’s waist with her elbow, and chuckled quietly: ”Haha, you’re not, really pathetic, I definitely am!”

”You? As if, what research team would recruit you.” Lou Fei’Er gestured at her height, patting her on the head, ”So short and dumb!”

”I, I...” Zeng Tao wanted to argue but felt Lou Fei’Er had a point, she pouted and said, ”Indeed, if I had to research something, I’d rather be killed... Seems I’m also unlikely to be.”

Jin Yue’s expression remained unchanged.

She had no special abilities, just someone rescued by Xu Xin, making her very unlikely to be a team member, and she had no such aspirations.

On the other hand, Ma Hongwei’s possibility was very high.

But Ma Hongwei didn’t seem very interested; even when everyone gathered together, he continued writing and drawing.

Looking at his blueprint, he seemed to be... developing a new weapon.

”Lou Fei’Er and Shi Wanyun weren’t special ability holders, but Qin Fu was.” Wang Lei summarized, ”It does match our theory, it seems we’re trustworthy.”

Xu Xin fell silent.

Though he didn’t think there was a mole among them, this theory wasn’t valid.

Because... Shi Wanyun also had special abilities.

Xu Ying’s guess was that Shi Wanyun was also a member of the original organization, but not part of their research team, but another team, hence also implanted with special ability biological chips.

However, the truth remains unclear.

Shi Wanyun’s Area 1 was too far from them.

Being a member of the same organization, would she really be sent so far away?

Xu Xin constantly felt, her special abilities...

Perhaps there’s another story, maybe... related to alien invaders.
