Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1035: Chapter 574: Someone Outside the Window_2

It’s like seeing a ghost!

And now Xu Xin finally understood, that monster, actually gave him that kind of feeling.

The eyes were human eyes, but the whole body was covered with these eyes, constantly blinking and following his gaze to change the viewing angle.

Its arms were obviously much longer than its legs, making one feel like...

The arms were where the legs should be, and the legs... where the arms should be.

Using the elements most familiar to humans, it was pieced together into a haphazard monster.

This is the monster!

”Moreover, for a period of time, that guy had an extreme aversion to humans! Many of us died at its hands.”

Xu Ying recalled the past, with a slightly annoyed expression on her face.

”That guy really caused us a lot of trouble. If it weren’t for the fact that at the time the monsters still needed us, with rules preventing them from attacking us, it would probably have exterminated us completely...”

Xu Xin’s gaze shifted: ”But now, it seems to be raising humans? It even learned the human language, communicating with humans.”

”I don’t understand this.” Xu Ying also showed confusion in her expression, ”I don’t know what kind of thing that monster is thinking, back then its attitude towards us changed several times.”

”However, when the spacetime collapsed, it hadn’t appeared before us for at least ten years. To be honest, until today, I’d almost forgotten about it.”

Next, Xu Ying once again grabbed Xu Xin’s arm, looking at him seriously: ”But no matter what, it’s a very dangerous monster, and from my experience, it’s very temperamental. Do not provoke it until you have sufficient capability!”

”Brother, before the World Tree matures, don’t leave Crystal City, and also tell your companions not to leave the city recently.

You can freely share things about the monster, but regarding the underground base, don’t tell anyone. Wait until the World Tree matures before mentioning it!

After the World Tree matures, I will come again. With the protection of the World Tree, your territory should be stabilized, and I can take you back and forth to the underground base!”

”Are you going back?” Xu Xin grabbed the hand she held his arm with, ”Are you leaving now?”

”Yes, sister-in-law is still waiting for me below, and...” Xu Ying said, looking quite tired, ”the situation below is quite complicated, as I have told you, I can’t stay away for too long.”

She had just left for a little while, and something had already happened around the villa.

Fearing Xu Xin might worry, she dared not say it out loud.

”Alright then.... Let me ask one last question, these World Tree seeds, were they left by you guys? And what exactly is the treehouse we live in?” Xu Xin asked.

Hearing Xu Xin’s question, Xu Ying looked a bit troubled: ”Actually, I’m also confused right now.”

”... The treehouse seeds were indeed something we developed, but at that time, they were only given to those people our organization sent to the future, about twenty thousand people. Definitely not as many as now, where there are millions of survivors, and they all have treehouse seeds...”

”Is that so...” Xu Xin rubbed his chin.

”As for the World Tree seeds, they are our most successful seeds, with complex abilities, which I will not elaborate on.” Xu Ying glanced out the window again, then continued, ”These matters, after the World Tree matures, brother, you will have to experience yourself.”

”As for why monsters on the other hemisphere have so many World Trees... just like with the treehouse seeds, I also don’t know. Alright, that’s all I have to say, brother, I must go back!”

With that, she released Xu Xin’s hand and stepped down.

A purple-black vortex instantly formed beneath her feet, and she blinked at Xu Xin: ”I’m leaving!”

”You...”

She fell into the vortex.

The vortex vanished the moment she disappeared, leaving only the wooden floor with its grain.

Xu Xin sighed helplessly.

Yingying indeed... comes and goes as she pleases.

However, this meeting truly confirmed many of his speculations and revealed so much to him.

He raised his hand and glanced at the time.

It was already six in the morning.

They should be up by now, right?

It’s time to hold an internal meeting for the explorers.

...

”Why hasn’t Yingying come back yet...” Li Wenxi murmured by the window, watching the bustling city traffic.

This period has indeed been quite difficult.

Not knowing if it was dangerous outside, she dared not leave and could only wait restlessly in the villa.

”This villa is so clean, not even a single book.” She idly counted the cars on the overpass below, ”Three hundred seventy-eight... three hundred seventy-nine... quite a lot of cars here too.”

Then, a purple-black light appeared behind her.

She immediately turned her head and saw Xu Ying standing behind her.

”Sister-in-law! Are you alright?” Xu Ying came up to her immediately, gripping Li Wenxi’s shoulders and looking her up and down, ”You haven’t encountered any problems, have you?”

”Ah? No... no.” Li Wenxi was startled by Xu Ying’s sudden enthusiastic actions, ”But outside the villa, there seems to be someone...”

”I know about that, which is why I hurried back.” Xu Ying looked out the window, gritting her teeth, ”Luckily you didn’t go out.”
