Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1029: Chapter 572: Exchanging Information

Xu Ying really cried.

She truly was too lonely during this time.

It’s not that no one was with her, she just felt she wasn’t really part of this world, yet was forcibly staying here. No matter how much interaction she had with its people, there was a strong sense of alienation within her.

She brought Li Wenxi into the underground not just for business; a key reason was she was reaching her limit and needed to communicate with a ”familiar” person.

Even though she’d arrived at this point in time only a few days ago, she still couldn’t quite handle it.

This feeling as if the whole world was rejecting her was maddening.

And now, the person before her was the most ”familiar” one in this world.

So in an instant, she couldn’t hold back any longer.

Xu Xin was momentarily at a loss.

He didn’t know how long it had been since he hugged his sister.

She was adorable as a child, but ever since she started middle school and became rebellious, their relationship had deteriorated significantly; it had been at least five or six years since they were like this.

Moreover, this Xu Ying wasn’t really his sister.

This ”sister” was hundreds of years older than him...

However, he eventually patted Xu Ying’s back and comforted her softly.

Xu Ying was just temporarily overwhelmed with emotion; once she vented it out, she realized quickly, blushing slightly, letting go and stepping back a couple steps: ”Ah, um...”

Ah...! So embarrassing!

She felt she wanted to dig a hole and hide.

If Xu Xin hadn’t discovered her identity, it wouldn’t be too bad, but now that he had...

A woman hundreds of years old crying in the arms of someone in their twenties was too, too, too embarrassing!

Having her identity discovered, she couldn’t even call him brother at that moment.

Yet, Xu Xin spoke first: ”Yingying, did you... teleport here?”

His way of addressing Xu Ying hadn’t changed.

No matter how old the other person was, she was still his sister Xu Ying. Using a slightly distant tone, or even speaking as if to an elder, was absolutely impossible.

Moreover, the girl had just hugged him and cried openly.

”Ah ah...” Xu Ying wiped her tear marks on her face, ”I am... Ah!”

Suddenly, she turned sharply to the statue’s face, looking around.

Seeing no changes around, she sighed deeply with relief.

”Luckily, you haven’t triggered this mechanism yet...” She patted her chest, relaxing her expression, ”You mustn’t trigger this mechanism right now!”

”...Seems like not triggering the mechanism was indeed the right move.” Xu Xin tilted his head to glance at Lou Fei’Er behind him.

Lou Fei’Er was currently holding Keke, walking forward.

Keke gave a ”yip” and jumped out of her arms, running over to Xu Ying’s leg, grabbing it with its tiny paws.

”Little guy, it’s you again!”

Seeing Keke, Xu Ying was immediately charmed, taking out a fruit gummy and handing it to Keke’s mouth.

The gummy was immediately bitten by Keke, who then turned and hopped onto Xu Xin, starting to chew with its little mouth.

This little guy really loved sweets.

Xu Xin reached up to rub its head.

”Brother, this little creature you raised is truly adorable.” Xu Ying was very fond of Keke’s small appearance.

Plus, since she saw the mechanism hadn’t been triggered, she wasn’t worried anymore, relaxing her mindset and starting to chat casually.

But Xu Xin wasn’t interested in small talk.

He had too many questions he wanted to ask.

He took two steps toward Xu Ying, staring into her eyes: ”How did you really get here? Also, is Wenxi safe with you now?”

”Your wife, huh? You don’t need to worry about her safety; with me, she’s safer than she is here.” Xu Ying found herself a bit intimidated by her brother’s serious gaze.

So she leaped, sitting directly atop the four- to five-meter stone statue’s head: ”As for why I came here...”

She looked at the quiet, curious Lou Fei’Er watching her.

”A stranger.” Xu Ying raised her eyebrows slightly.

Xu Xin understood what she meant.

But driving Lou Fei’Er away now felt a bit heartless.

Fortunately, Lou Fei’Er was perceptive, recognizing that Xu Xin’s sister didn’t want her to overhear information. So she waved: ”I’m leaving, I’m leaving, oh, I didn’t mean to intrude on your sibling reunion, just awkward being here.”

Saying this, she turned and started to walk out.

”Hey, wait a moment!” Xu Ying pointed at Keke in Xu Xin’s arms, ”Take this little guy too.”

”Yip?” Keke turned its small head to look at her, appearing innocent.

”Still taking Keke?” Lou Fei’Er seemed surprised, glancing at Xu Xin.

”Of course, it must be taken away. This little thing might be adorable, but it’s too mysterious.” Xu Ying remarked to Keke, ”Who knows where it came from. Maybe it’s a little monster raised by alien invaders?”

”Yip! Yip yip yip!” Keke protested vehemently, waving its small paws in disapproval, ”Yip yip!”

Xu Xin paused briefly, handing Keke to Lou Fei’Er: ”Please head back first.”

”Why be polite with me?” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Xu Ying, then asked softly, ”Is there really no danger?”

”It’s fine.”

”Alright then, I’ll be off.” Lou Fei’Er nodded, turning to leave.
