Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1005: Chapter 563: Even Xu Xin Is Tempted (Part 2)

Xu Xin looked at her.

He felt that he could now trust the person in front of him.

The truth he knew could indeed be revealed to her.

But before that...

”Have you rested well?” he asked.

”Yes, I feel refreshed.” Shi Wanyun nodded.

”Show me what happens next, and I’ll tell you the truth I know.”

”Alright.”

Shi Wanyun immediately drew close.

...

Shi Wanyun explored many places in the residential area of No. 5.

Except for the pavilion, which she was not allowed to enter, she visited everywhere else.

She found the source of the water flow.

It was at the very edge of this area, gushing out from the walls like a fountain.

”Although the space of the World Tree is not small, this area counts as the core territory.” No. 5 accompanied her, guiding her through the park and lightly tapping the boundary wall, saying, ”Do you know where this is?”

”Core territory... could it be, the trunk of the World Tree?” Shi Wanyun speculated.

”That’s right.” No. 5 laughed, ”This is the trunk of the World Tree, the heartland of the entire World Tree.”

”...No wonder there would be a water flow.”

”Yes, this water flow is not an artificial one, but water absorbed by the World Tree.” No. 5 stooped down to scoop up a handful of slightly cold water, ”This is not ordinary water, but water filtered by the World Tree; the water is very clean and contains the ability to gradually alter the body.”

Saying so, she brought the water to her lips and took a sip.

Then she raised her head, gently shook her hand, and said with a smile: ”The water alone has the ability to clear fatigue and prolong life.”

”Is it really that powerful?” Shi Wanyun was slightly skeptical.

”You can try it.”

Shi Wanyun crouched down, scooped up a handful of water, and gently inhaled.

It was very sweet, and even though she wasn’t particularly thirsty, the flavor of the water still amazed her.

At that moment, an introduction appeared in her mind.

[World Tree Spring Water (Purple): Drinkable spring water. Under the filtration of the World Tree, the quality of the water undergoes a drastic change, infused with part of the World Tree’s energy. Drinking it can eliminate physical and mental fatigue and extend life.]

”Purple-grade water?”

This truly surprised her.

”Purple-grade...? Ah, it’s the survivor’s ability.”

No. 5 was initially puzzled, then enlightened, ”I remember that I was able to see the grade of some items back then. It was nearly fifty years ago, and I’ve forgotten much.”

Shi Wanyun looked at her with some surprise: ”You can’t see the grade and description of items now?”

”Of course not.” No. 5 replied with a gentle smile, ”This ability was only present during that survival selection; it disappeared after the selection ended. Speaking of which, I was somewhat unaccustomed to it back then.”

”So that’s how it is... Will my ability also disappear in the future?” Shi Wanyun’s eyes slightly shifted.

She wanted to ask No. 5 if she had any special abilities and whether her special abilities had disappeared.

But she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

Although her special ability wasn’t a combat ability, it could be considered a trump card. Asking would essentially mean revealing to her that she had a special ability.

Moreover, since the other person had never asked about special abilities, they probably weren’t aware.

Speaking of which, among their fifth batch of survivors, those with special abilities were rare.

”It surely will.” No. 5 said as she led Shi Wanyun along the river, ”We from the first four batches were all like that, and the fifth batch should be no exception.”

”... You must have had your own tree house during those times, right? Your tree house later...”

”Was abandoned.” No. 5 said, ”We have designated areas to live in, along with the World Tree.”

She looked around and said: ”Do we still need our own small tree house?”

Indeed...

With this area she owned, planting hundreds of tree houses would be more than enough.

Shi Wanyun felt even more torn inside.

She really... wanted to own an area like this...

But the prerequisite to owning such a paradise is to kill Xu Xin.

”Alright, time’s up. It’s time to send you where you need to go.”

”...Okay.”

Though still unprepared, Shi Wanyun could only follow behind No. 5.

The direction of her path was the pavilion she had never entered.

Looking around at the surroundings, she slowly put aside her inner struggle.

At that time... the assessment would be made.

The monster also said that her mission was to kill Xu Xin, but if she failed, she would have to stay by his side to seek opportunities.

At that time, we shall see...

...

”Did you already have the intention to kill me at this point?”

Xu Xin suddenly asked.

He opened his eyes.

The two were still forehead-to-forehead, Shi Wanyun did not close her eyes, but was somewhat lost in thought, staring at him.

Seeing Xu Xin open his eyes, she immediately averted her gaze: ”You’re my savior, I...”

Xu Xin laughed: ”I don’t believe that. Not only you, but even I am very envious of that place.”

Shi Wanyun pursed her lips, raised her head, no longer touching Xu Xin’s forehead, slightly turned her head and said: ”...There’s indeed some of that, just a tiny bit.”
