Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1004: Chapter 563: Even Xu Xin Is Tempted

Xu Xin suddenly felt that the whole situation had become extremely complex, far beyond his previous imagination.

He initially thought that the information obtained in the Crystal Palace was already the truth.

But now it seems...

The facts go far beyond that.

Actually, the fact that so many humans can be constantly sent from the past to the future to participate in this somewhat strange survival plan already indicates one thing.

At least now, in this world a thousand years later, alien invaders definitely possess the ability to travel through time.

But when did they acquire this ability, was it before they invaded Earth, or was it developed over the thousand years?

Thinking about what he just saw in Shi Wanyun’s memory, the image of himself with blood markings on his face, Xu Xin had his own thoughts.

At least in that space-time, at the point three hundred years after the invasion occurred, the alien invaders were able to conduct time travel.

Otherwise, he couldn’t have seen that photo in this space-time.

If thinking a bit more boldly, then...

These alien invaders may have reached the point where they can control space-time.

Before they invaded Earth, they already possessed the ability to traverse time.

It’s just that they might not generally use it, and even if they do, it’s a top secret. After all, the ability of time travel is a double-edged sword; any issue could lead to space-time collapse.

Therefore, the enslaved humans at the time were not aware of this ability.

They painstakingly researched, eventually using the technology given by the alien invaders to develop their own method of time travel.

But as humans encountering time travel for the first time, they knew very little about its taboos.

Under these circumstances, they caused very serious consequences.

The future direction of the world changed significantly, and the space-time they were in faced collapse.

The collapse of space-time was very evident, as the speed of time and spatial distances would undergo some distortions, and those alien invaders surely noticed this.

These alien invaders, who had long possessed the ability to traverse space-time, were familiar with this phenomenon. They knew the reasons for the chaos in space-time, realizing that someone traveling through time excessively influenced the past, leading to the collapse of their future!

Knowing the causes of the crisis, they took corresponding countermeasures.

The countermeasure likely resembled the one Xu Xin’s team employed back then.

Return to the past.

They couldn’t let everyone disappear with the collapse of space-time; they needed to send some people to the past to investigate the truth of space-time turbulence.

Their task was to prevent themselves from another space-time, the invaders from another space-time, from repeating the mistake.

”In the same space-time, there cannot be identical people existing...”

Xu Xin mused to himself.

”So... the individuals they send back to the past are the new generation of young entities... Or, do they, like this side, send their past selves away before returning to the past?”

Thinking of this, he suddenly had a somewhat creepy thought.

The current him knows that the image Xu Xin and himself are essentially two different individuals.

What he does won’t affect the other, and the other won’t affect him.

And the alien invaders likely know this too.

Since they are different entities, if they don’t affect each other...

Then killing this world’s self and taking his place sounds plausible, doesn’t it?

That’s the simplest method.

The methods of sending them to the future seem too troublesome.

The image Xu Xin and his team did this because they didn’t know if their past selves could affect them, and they were preparing to reclaim the world for the future.

But alien invaders don’t need to bother with such complexities.

They only need to send the new generation back in time, kill themselves unwittingly, and directly replace them.

As for whether they would trigger the world’s rejection reaction and disappear, because they don’t belong to this space-time...

Didn’t Yingying persist until a thousand years later without disappearing?

They... may have special means, allowing them to linger in this world despite not belonging to this space-time.

If that’s the case...

Then among the alien invader group surviving on Earth’s other hemisphere now, perhaps a small portion is...

Invaders from the collapsed space-time!

And the one Shi Wanyun saw might be one of them!

Because it possessed the photo of blood-marked Xu Xin!

Moreover, its self-talk was overheard by Xu Xin.

[Oh, now his face shouldn’t have blood markings anymore, right?]

This clearly indicated it had seen the previous Xu Xin, the Xu Xin with blood markings on his face.

It... clearly, like image Xu Xin and Yingying who took Wenxi away, is from that collapsed space-time!

Xu Xin, feeling a bit troubled, rubbed his brow.

Feeling... things are really becoming more difficult.

”The more you understand... the harder it becomes.” He sighed softly.

”...Can you explain what you just mentioned about going back to the past?” Shi Wanyun suddenly spoke.

Earlier, Xu Xin’s self-talk stirred a huge wave in her heart.

Going back to the past, past space-time...

She locked her gaze on Xu Xin’s eyes, waiting for his answer.
