Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1011: Chapter 565: I Really Don’t Want to Die (Part 3)

The clothes that were changed on the World Tree were now completely shattered, basically leaving her barely covered.

Yet the skin exposed through the gaps was smooth and without blemish, appearing tender and fair under the sunlight.

As if she had not just experienced something so mind-shattering it could almost drive one insane, even if it was just an illusion.

But...

The still-not-dried patches of blood on the soil beneath her were undeniable proof that what happened was indeed real.

These were all marks left just moments ago.

Her body truly had been torn apart by that beast with its teeth.

”...My body, recovered?” She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down and start thinking.

Though she had just undergone a terrifying ordeal, Shi Wanyun’s Spiritual Power had been greatly strengthened by the World Tree monster, making her resilient enough not to spiral out of control from the recent tragedy.

Though she was still trembling uncontrollably.

After experiencing such agony, she felt completely devoid of courage to face it again.

Only by dying once could one truly comprehend the terror of death.

She lifted her wristwatch and glanced at the time.

Only about twenty minutes had passed since she was transported back.

Calculating it, it had only been... ten minutes or so since she was bitten into unconsciousness?

This was unexpectedly fast...

She thought she had been unconscious for at least several hours...

Right!

The Crystal Ball!

Instinctively, she twisted the ring, then quickly realized and forcibly stopped herself.

She almost brought out that cursed thing again!

However... she needed the information inside the Crystal Ball.

What was going on, why would a Crystal Ball meant to transmit information almost cause the recipient to die...

The information inside the Crystal Ball was necessary, but first, she had to enter the tree house.

Otherwise, if she attracted another beast attack, she wouldn’t have enough lives to spend!

She moved her body slightly.

To her surprise, although she felt incredibly exhausted now, she wasn’t as powerless as before.

At least, she could still move normally.

She held onto the nearby metal pillar and slowly stood up.

[Activate the transportation device?]

Suddenly, a prompt appeared in her mind.

She glanced at the metal pillar, too spent to ponder further, and softly said, ”Yes.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, accompanied by a ”crackling” noise, the metal pillar began to rotate and sink slowly into the ground.

The abruptly moving metal pillar almost caused Shi Wanyun leaning against it to fall over again.

Luckily, she still had some strength left to stabilize herself.

The metal pillar rotated and sank bit by bit, just like a drill burrowing into the earth.

Finally, only about ten centimeters of its top remained exposed above the surface, with the rest entirely submerged beneath the earth.

Suddenly, it floated with purple-black patterns above.

[Activation successful]

That’s good...

Right now, Shi Wanyun had no desire to delve into the device any further, she just wanted to return to the tree house for a proper rest.

She quickly walked back to the base of the tree house and activated the roots to pull herself back into her dwelling.

Back inside her tree house, she immediately felt an unprecedented sense of relief, collapsing onto the sofa.

”Finally... back...”

Everything that just happened felt like a dream...

”Hiss...!”

She suddenly sucked in a cold breath.

Because the ring on her finger had suddenly become unbearably hot!

The Crystal Ball!

What’s happening with the Crystal Ball again!

She twisted the ring, intending to take it off, but at the moment she twisted it, the Crystal Ball was released from the ring.

This instantly heightened Shi Wanyun’s alertness.

Fortunately, although the Crystal Ball was emitting a slightly dazzling white glow, it didn’t have the previous eerie red aura.

She also rushed to the window to look outside.

Then she breathed a sigh of relief.

There was nothing unusual outside.

”What on earth is...”

She turned back towards the Crystal Ball, her self-talk abruptly halted.

Above the Crystal Ball appeared a three-dimensional... monster image.

The monster was seated, yet only its image was visible, as if it was sitting on air.

”Did you experience the meaning of despair?” The monster manipulated the unfamiliar human language, its tone slightly mocking, ”Remember, if I desired, I could make you wish for death rather than suffering like this at any moment.”

The monster’s appearance already made Shi Wanyun’s body stiffen, and its words further widened her pupils in shock.

Was the incident just now orchestrated solely by this monster...
