Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 468: Chapter 266: Prepare! The Beginning of the Battle of the Dwarves

The study suddenly echoed with the clear, crisp laughter of a young girl: ”Of course, I love Daddy Hill the most! What I love, the water will naturally love too!”

”Agleya, have you finished your naval battle?” Hill asked without turning his head.

”Ah! Daddy Hill! A big shark came to make trouble! I went to deal with it!” Agleya quickly found an excuse and slipped away.

Adrian laughed softly and glanced at Hill: ”You’re quite good at coaxing little girls, Hill.”

Hill shook his head: ”Agleya is very attentive to what’s happening here. Although she worries it might affect my work and hasn’t said anything, how could I not feel it? She’s been blessing me all along.

The Water Law is boiling over, which is the will of the Law God.

There are so many troubles in Agleya’s ocean; I can only get her to rush back to her divine duties.

And for the Water Law, It is very willing to respond to my wishes.”

Adrian, who had witnessed Agleya’s ascension to godhood, understood that although Agleya was a naturally born Water Deity, without Hill, she might have to wait tens of thousands of years before recovering.

By that time, the Water Law would likely be so fragmented that even if she were to be born, Agleya wouldn’t be this powerful and might not even obtain the divinity of the Sea God.

If it came to that, the Water Law would fall into the hands of mages, to be wantonly exploited without the protection of a powerful deity.

Hill always said it was the World Will that chose him to raise the Little Sea God, but the very fact that it chose him demonstrated the World Will’s recognition of him.

So as long as Hill remained in this world, the Water Law would naturally favor him.

Not to mention the Sea God’s blessing.

”I won’t ask what this demi-god artifact is for, but the Water Law has always been strong against spells,” Adrian said seriously. ”Compared to weapons, your defensive capabilities are more crucial to keep secret.

But everyone knows the basic attributes of the Water Law, so you need to be cautious.”

Hill nodded: ”I know. However, anyone who can physically harm me would have to be demigod level or above!”

Adrian paused for a moment, putting away his concern. Hill always liked using spells and had a quiet, elegant appearance, almost making him forget that Hill was essentially a humanoid Earth Bear.

It was only because Hill lacked that layer of fur that he said demigods could harm him.

Otherwise, an Earth Bear, even at the Legendary rank, would require a siege by demigods to take down.

As the beloved child of the Goddess of the Earth, with their feet on the earth, they had endless power.

Adrian looked at Hill, who had a calm expression. This child had been living in the sky for so long that many had forgotten he was someone almost impossible to kill when his feet were on the ground.

At the very least, if Hill wanted to escape, even deities might not be able to catch him.

Hill suddenly laughed: ”While I can’t talk about other abilities, Uncle Adrian should definitely take a look at this.”

He stood up and turned around; the robe on him gradually changed shape and color.

The light blue fitted long robe transformed into a loose white one, then into a dark blue short robe, and finally returned to a water-blue shirt and trousers.

Adrian exclaimed in surprise: ”Isn’t this made from water materials? Water materials can change colors too?”

Wood materials had this capability but were very expensive, and few people used them.

Besides changing shapes, such materials had no other use.

For most people, it was more practical to keep a few extra clothes in a ring.

Other than that, the skin of a rainforest lizard had this ability, but it had to be skinned within an hour of the lizard’s death for refining, requiring an alchemist to personally do it.

As a nature warlock, Hill couldn’t have bothered to kill a high-level magical beast just for clothing.

”Interesting, right? This is the shed skin of a certain jellyfish from the deep sea.

Among the water materials that the demigod sea turtle gave me last time, there were many.

Probably just to make up the numbers, they grabbed some flashy but impractical materials from the warehouse to give me.

Originally, I didn’t know what this stuff was for either, but later I discovered its high elasticity and ability to be influenced by elemental power, changing into white, dark blue, and light blue.

When I planned to use the crystal flower, I decided to use this jellyfish skin as the main material for my clothes.”

Adrian stared in amazement for a while: ”Do you have any more of this material?”

”Yes.” Hill took out a shell and handed it to him, ”But it must be kept in the purest water. It will dry out within three hours once out of water and needs immediate refining. It can only be used with pure water materials; any other materials will cause conflicts.”

Adrian accepted it: ”Materials from the water, except for ores and shells, most have time restrictions. I’ll take it back and experiment. What did you initially plan to use it for? Is there enough left?

If I find it useful after the test, I’ll go to Mosaic to buy some more. Do you need any?”

Adrian understood that Hill had intended to use it for something else. Clothes, unless for special needs, were not something anyone would consider making from water materials.

Only Hill, because of that ten-thousand-year-old crystal flower, would do so.

Adrian found it interesting and wanted to try it out.

”I initially planned to make a playground for Agleya,” Hill said with a blink. ”Didn’t I make some recreational facilities similar to the ones for Young Master William? Agleya is even younger than him!

And girls prefer prettier and cuter things. Blue, white, and transparent colors can be combined into many designs.”

Adrian couldn’t help but glance at Hill: ”You really spoil kids.”

”But Agleya is very busy now, so I won’t make anything for her in the short term. For now, I don’t need more, and my current stock is enough.” Hill squinted and smiled.

Adrian couldn’t help but glance at the ice crystal in the study: ”She can hear us, right?”

”Of course she can hear.” Hill laughed, ”There’s no such thing as doing bad things without punishment, right, Agleya?”

On the ice crystal side, there was no sound; Agleya resolutely pretended not to hear.

Adrian couldn’t help but laugh; he had wondered why Hill didn’t reprimand Agleya for attacking sea monsters before coming of age.

Logically, this issue wasn’t severe enough for Hill to explode in anger and stop Agleya, but there were some side effects.

For Agleya, it might delay her coming of age.

It was frustrating because she didn’t take the easy path, which fit the chaotic nature of the Chaos System.

She acted based on what she wanted, not what she should do.

But Adrian had thought Hill had resigned to it with no choice.

Indeed, Hill was a very responsible father, choosing gentle methods to teach a sneaky misbehaving child about consequences rather than scolding or hitting.

It might just be some recreational facilities, not essential for Agleya.

But for this little Sea God who enjoyed Hill’s pampering, not getting what Daddy Hill personally made her would feel like being tortured.

”What about Alice?” Adrian couldn’t help but ask, ”You must know about the mischief she’s been up to, right?”

”I simply told Merkel that if he couldn’t properly protect Alice, he should send her back to the valley.” Hill said lightly.

Adrian raised his eyebrows, realizing that the leopard would keep a tight watch on Alice from now on. If anything happened again and Hill had to fetch the cat himself, Alice would have to stay in the valley for a while.

”I’m heading back.” Adrian, his curiosity satisfied, prepared to leave. ”You rest well; forming a water demi-god artifact must have consumed a lot of your spiritual power.”

Hill nodded and rose to see Adrian off.

His consumption was indeed substantial, but the crystal flower had the ability to restore spiritual power. Wearing this outfit meant constantly recovering the spiritual power he expended.

The necklace around Hill’s neck also nourished his mental sea. Though the effect seemed small, wearing it year-round helped expand the mental sea.

For Hill, the set of demi-god artifacts’ ability to shield against various elemental attacks was crucial, but the most important was the instantly activated water shield for emergencies.

He wouldn’t have to worry about being ambushed by the semi-divine short sword of the dwarves again.

Whether it was Earth system or Wind Series, Hill’s materials were not strong enough, causing a one-second delay in activating the defensive shield, unable to stop that short sword.

Hill didn’t have to risk failing in refining the artifact, but he didn’t want to be on edge every day guarding against thieves.

He raised his hand to look at the ring on his finger. If it couldn’t detect a toxin, it would probably be deadly enough to kill William.

Just as Hill was about to rest, he heard a knock on the door.

He stepped out and saw William.

This king politely knocked on the railing of the cloud ship even though he was already within Hill’s defensive array.

”Your Majesty, is there something you need?” Hill asked quietly, ”Please come in.”

William landed inside, glancing at the demi-god artifacts on Hill: ”The matters with the elves have temporarily settled. If the Forest of the Elves has trouble again, it’s likely due to some internal misery, which humans need not concern themselves with.

So I plan to head directly to the Dwarf Kingdom next.

But I suspect the dwarf area might have become a den of demons, perhaps even with an evil god appearing.

So I’m wondering if you’re willing to go? Having you there would offer more guarantee.”

Hill readily nodded: ”The dwarves are my enemies too. I’d be very willing to contribute.”

”If possible, bring that semi-divine artifact painting,” William said bluntly. ”Though other temples will send people along, the power of the sun god is more effective.”

Hill nodded: ”I’ll fetch it immediately. Let’s keep it on my cloud ship to avoid causing trouble for others.”

William smiled: ”Good idea, we might as well take it easy.”

Hill returned the smile; even Adrian dared not stay over.
