Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 464: Chapter 262: Hill Living off Equal Pay - Part 2

Hill could directly explore the Metal System through the Wood and Earth Systems, and of course, he could also probe into the Wood System.

As long as he could find it, Fran believed he could certainly control it.

But before finding the Law of Wood, he indeed needed to correct his spells from those two systems a bit.

And what Hill held was probably the most perfected Earth System Spells in the world.

Although Fran knew that Hill, the first to fully communicate with the Law of the Earth, would definitely receive some feedback from the World Will, he was still a bit surprised by the multitude of spells.

After flipping through a few pages of the Magic Book, Fran couldn’t help but glance at Hill, wondering if this child was one of the deities who had died unfortunately when the world broke apart.

Although deities do fall, not each of them perishes completely; some like the Goddess of the Hunt simply chose not to live.

In cases of accidental death, it is indeed possible that part of the soul is preserved.

The Goddess of the Silvermoon and the Sun God had both seen Hill, and if they had known him before, it was impossible for them not to recognize him.

Fran shook his head, knowing he would eventually find out.

”Why didn’t grandfather stay in Central City?” Hill was a bit curious, ”It’s easier to perceive the Laws here, right?”

”Too many Mages.” Fran shook his head, ”Their various probes would disturb the Laws, and those who need to perceive the Legendary paths are more suited to staying here.

Or those who need to feel what the new Laws are like in terms of Legends.

I am not completely ignorant of wood magic, although not of the Natural Growth kind of Divine Arts, but at the very least, I know a bit about summoning vines and commanding them to entangle.

For me, what’s more necessary is tranquility.”

Hill nodded, ”I understand.”

Hill wasn’t much affected, after all, when he acted nowadays, it was more about utilizing the Laws rather than using spells, so there was a bit of a difference from Mages.

Magicians are more sensitive to their own Laws, and once found, they can directly feel the emotions of the Laws.

Mages, on the other hand, have to carefully discern the temperament of the Laws.

No wonder this place is more highly regarded by legendary warlocks.

Once discovered, they almost swarm to it.

Hill joyfully teleported back to his town with his grandfather, finally to return to the carefree life of a wealthy family’s child.

Following Hill back to the Magic Tower, Fran, with great interest, flipped through a pile of blueprints handed over by the Undead Tribe.

Although Hill had shown him before, without seeing the physical items, Fran always felt it was too fancy.

Now he truly felt it was not bad and could consider it for reference.

Having seen off Fran, he asked about the recent situation in List’s domain, knowing everything was peaceful and there were no Mages calling at his door afterward, he couldn’t help but scoff.

Was he, this master, more easy to bully than an immobile domain?

Indeed, within and without his domain, the Undead Tribe was everywhere; when he flew back, he could see them squatting in the bushes having a picnic.

And in the valley, who would dare act mischievously in front of Agleya.

Everyone knew that this place was the birthplace of this Sea God, and everything in the valley, Agleya could know if she wished.

Moreover, here, if Agleya wanted to strike someone dead, the World Will would not stop her. In the birthplace of a deity, the deity certainly possesses all privileges.

Agleya was an awe-inspiring deity, and understandably so; once angered, the Chaos System didn’t bother with reasons or consequences, it was quite normal to relentlessly pursue revenge to the ends of the Earth.

This was unlike the God of Nobility’s type of anger that subsided after venting; the revenge of the Chaos System was around-the-clock, and it didn’t depend on whether the vengeance was complete but rather on whether they remembered it.

Hill snapped his fingers, deciding that the next one to trouble him would get a brutal thousand-cut treatment to taste.

He really wanted to try out, whether his twelve thin swords could perform the Ten Thousand Sword Art!

Hill gathered most of the crystal stones along with various water materials, planning to head back to Central City.

List stopped him and hesitantly spoke of Alice’s valiant exploits.

In recent times, hearing how the Undead Tribe feverishly praised Alice’s courage and wisdom only made his head hurt.

Hill paused, his mind conjuring up images of Alice, charming and cute, coquettishly playful, leaving him momentarily stupefied.

”Cats are vindictive creatures with a strong sense of revenge, who, if they genuinely hold a grudge, will pursue their vendetta across thousands of miles.”

This notion, which he once considered a humorous ’temperament of a cat’ paper, might actually be true?

The choice of form for a Spirit of Nature usually reflects their inner selves, so most chose the form of a deer, with very few opting for other shapes.

But Hill always thought Alice chose to be a cat due to her laziness, playfulness, and curiosity!

All he could do was shake his head in resignation; Alice was still a girl after all, incomprehensible!

He then packed up a small box, putting in some of his researched water and wood healing and detoxifying Divine Scrolls.

If the child couldn’t be managed, at least she could have medicine when hurt.

Hill instructed List to immediately post a task to deliver a message, choosing the Undead Tribe members with high friendliness levels as messengers.

Said Undead members, mostly acquainted with Alice, would likely have easier access to Merkel’s territory.

In his letter to Alice, he simply expressed his gratitude for everything she did for him and then conveyed a humble father’s ardent hope that she would stay in a safe place.

He also sent a letter filled with grievances and scoldings to Merkel: if that foolish leopard couldn’t take good care of Alice, he’d better send her back to the valley right away! Hill was more than willing to take care of Alice for a lifetime!

Back in Central City, Hill was still somewhat dazed.

Could he really not understand even a mere cat? Or was it that he just couldn’t handle females?

Hill felt he had matured significantly!

Once back on the Cloud Ship, Hill replenished the power chamber with crystal stones and reactivated its stealth mode.

Hill cleared his mind and started contemplating the crafting of a Water System Demigod Artifact.

He pulled out a crystal flower, which he had reluctantly pruned; even with Hill’s sense of plant perception over many years, he had managed to propagate only five new shoots of crystal flowers.

No wonder crystal flowers were so scarce.

He could only practice once and then would need to use that millennia-old crystal flower.

The flower of the crystal plant, which augmented recovery powers of stamina and spiritual energy as it aged, was invaluable. Even if it could regrow, it would not be utilisable for another ten thousand years.

Hill planned to create this Demigod Artifact last, not because monoculture was easy, but because it was the hardest.

The fear of failure alone actually constituted a half chance of failure already.

With his teeth gritted, and while the successful vibes from the earlier Demigod Artifact still lingered, Hill decided to first practice. If he succeeded, he would immediately start the real craft.
