Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 454: Chapter 253: The Dwarven God of Forging Returns Home to Rest

Hill looked at Adrian’s displeased face and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Now that you’ve got the benefits, don’t bother asking why! The Great Nobility of Saral have no interest in competing with you at this time, they know their own weight.

If you ever need to, you can come and stay yourself, it’s not that big of a deal.

But they will certainly pay close attention to the position of City Lord.

They may not know exactly where the value of Central City lies, but they definitely know it’s precious.

Even if it means offending a future Legendary Mage, it’s worth the treasure.

Belter staying by your side as a deputy also has a part to do with handling these potential Great Nobility, they wouldn’t dare offend you, but they may not extend the same courtesy to a regular official.

In front of a Duke Saral who has inheritance rights to the throne, no Great Nobility has the right to be arrogant.”

Adrian shook his head and pushed the hair that had fallen in front of his forehead back, ”Acting according to the King’s moods is their instinct. We can’t do that.”

Hill nodded, ”Even for someone dealing with Legendary Laws, this place is useful. The center of the world isn’t called that for nothing.”

He couldn’t say much more, as the more one speaks about understanding Laws, the more they may mislead others.

What one understands on their own are truly legendary.

If you want to comprehend new Laws, this place is indeed more suitable.

Due to the imperfections of the world, the Law Lines that should be hidden at the core of the world are not so well concealed.

Even if a Magister couldn’t sense their own Law Line, their Law Line would still be attracted to them.

Here, as long as you are certain of your own path as a Mage, you might be able to find the beginning of that straight line.

And here, the Law Lines are all ones that the world has already repaired.

Not only are they complete, but they are also blank.

When the world is perfected in the future, indeed, more complete Laws will appear, but all Laws will gradually be occupied by Deities.

For Laws, Deities are the Guardians, they need Deities to protect themselves and also to break free from the control of Legendary Mages.

At that time, it will become even more difficult to become a Legend of Laws.

However, Mages who can become Legends of Laws after that time may be much more powerful than those of today.

After all, Deities do not like Mages, this method of deciphering their own Laws.

They will add a lot of redundant information to their own Laws to protect them from being controlled by others.

A Mage who can shake off the pressure of Deities and still control Laws will certainly be more powerful.

For Hill, seeing these future matters isn’t something he finds problematic.

Draculus and the others surely can’t miss this point, but including Fran, they all think the same, that what must not be cut off is the legacy of Mages, not the endless emergence of Legendary Mages.

Fran is only concerned about Adrian, and once he saw that there was no issue, he stopped bothering with it.

Hill felt much the same way; after all, Adrian’s time to become a legend isn’t far off.

What happens to other people is none of his concern.

The path of the Mage has not been completely cut off, just made a bit more difficult.

This world already has enough Legendary Mages, many of whom don’t even deserve to be called legends.

Especially those pseudo-Legends who can’t even beat a single Law legendary warlock.

Hill looked down at his own Law Line.

He also meditates frequently these days, and with enough luck, he can see Law Lines related to his four-element system.

But even for Hill, being able to see one out of ten times is already good.

Yet, even when he sees them, he doesn’t have any epiphanies.

”Uncle Adrian, make sure to keep up with your daily meditation!” Hill instructed earnestly.

Even though Fran must have already told Adrian about this, Hill couldn’t help repeating it.

Adrian turned to look at Hill and nodded, ”Before the teacher left, he also specifically mentioned the importance of meditation. I do it every day.

But would it be better underground?

Draculus has been remodeling his domain, digging more than 1000 meters underground!

But His Majesty the King never asked him about it; does he know he’s doing it for this reason?”

”Draculus is probably doing that to guard against Dwarves and Demons!” Hill couldn’t help but laugh, ”If there really was a sudden attack, Draculus’s disciples would be prime targets, right?

The little he does is already hitting Demons and Dwarves hard.

You just need to stay around here.

Haven’t I always been flying in midair?

If we really wanted to dig underground, who could be stronger at it than me!”

Adrian scratched his head sheepishly, ”Alright, I was overthinking it.

I know it’s a bit redundant for me to worry, but I just can’t help but pay attention to what this fellow is doing.

After all, he is the strongest Legendary Mage in the world.”

Adrian patted his robe, ”I’m off then! Just being able to rest for a while is good enough.

I’m going to see His Majesty the King to have him mark out the residential areas. Whether to sell land or whatever, let’s make it clear.

Those who want to settle down should honestly follow the King’s will and pay for their dealings!

I’m not interested in handling so much; the money isn’t for me to make.

My job as the Lord of Central City is only to collect taxes, not to sell land.”

Just after Adrian left, the Ice Crystal that had been silently by Hill’s side began to sparkle, and from within it came the cheerful voice of Agleya, ”Dad Hill! The Moon Elves are really useful!”

They are now decorating my palace, and they’ve planted many crystal-clear trees on the island!

It turns out that even terrestrial plants change their nature once they arrive in my Divine Kingdom.

They say that only water-loving plants can survive in the Divine Kingdom, luckily all the plants Hill’s Dad gave me love water.

My Divine Kingdom looks so beautiful now!

And perhaps because of Hill’s Dad, these Moon Elves are born with an affinity for water element Divine Arts.

Although not many, as long as they have the ability, I can teach them more!

However, even though they are still Moon Elves, they seem to have only one or two Moon System talents left.

Most of them just have the ability to recover twice as fast under moonlight or something like that.

Maybe in the future, they’ll have to rely on my water element to survive!

Can I turn them into Sea Elves?

However, it seems the Goddess of the Silvermoon really dislikes these Moon Elves.

It’s no surprise, since she hasn’t fully recovered yet, and even the Laws are somewhat incomplete.

If those Moon Elves had truly exerted themselves for her awakening, Silvermoon wouldn’t have ended up so miserably.”

Hill let out a sigh, ”Don’t talk too much about that. Even if the Goddess of the Silvermoon hasn’t fully regained her strength, you can’t beat her, can you?

If you get walloped, I can’t save you.

Having the same Divine Power doesn’t mean having the same strength.”

Agleya obediently agreed. She knew that compared to Silvermoon, who had lived for so long, she was far from her level.

It’s just that she couldn’t help gossiping a bit while talking to Dad.

”But I think these Moon Elves are quite nice!” Agleya whispered, ”Is there such a big difference depending on who plants the seeds?”

”Agleya!” Hill raised his voice a little.

”I got it! Hill’s Dad! I’m off to work right now!” Agleya ended the conversation quicker than ever and slipped away.

Hill massaged the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache coming on. Sooner or later, Agleya was bound to follow her own whimsical path.

But her nature is chaos, and Hill knew he couldn’t change that.

At the very least, if she were to fight with other Deities, it shouldn’t be because she couldn’t hold her tongue.

He needs to pay more attention now, even if the Little Sea God relaxes her guard around him, he doesn’t doubt that there might come a day when Agleya slips up.

While immersed in work under the morning sun, Hill suddenly felt a strong wave of Divine Power coming from afar.

He couldn’t help but curl his lips, is the Elven God King saying hello to William?

Hill leisurely walked to the deck and settled into a sofa.

This event wasn’t worth standing at the bow to watch.

As he expected, the Elven God King, trying to assert his presence, maintained the oppressive feeling of his Divine Power for two whole hours.

It came off a bit hollow, though.

Perhaps due to the distance, anyone with a bit of willpower could resist this pressure.

The threat it posed to Hill was less than the arrow he had once shot at a Demon.

Hill thought he might as well continue using a Divine Artifact.

This time, the Mages weren’t flying around Hill. They all knew the direction of the Elf Imperial City, so they gathered to the southeast of Central City.

Hill leaned back on the sofa, indifferent. His view here was much wider!

These people just couldn’t understand, if the Elf God King wanted to show his power to Humans, he would definitely hold the coronation ceremony in the sky of the Forest of the Elves.

If he didn’t want to show off, then even a coronation ceremony within the imperial city, even if it were right on the edge of the Forest of the Elves, would still be invisible.

Hill came out precisely because of this display of power by the Elven God King.

He couldn’t simply start something like this and not follow up with an even more spectacular performance!

”Hill! Hill!” Hill looked down to see Adrian waving at him with a few others, Spencer and Duke Saral included.

He brought the Cloud House down; clearly, these people wanted a good spot to enjoy the show.

That meant William also confirmed that the Divine King planned to broadcast the event synchronously.

And Hill was always easy to talk to, with Adrian by his side no less!

Hill truly didn’t mind.

Adrian’s Airship indeed wasn’t as comfortable as a Cloud Ship.

He arranged a row of booths at the bow and invited the guests to board and take their seats.

When he lifted them into the sky, several dozen Cloud Houses also rose around them.

High-level Undead, how come so many have returned?

Hill couldn’t help but ask Adrian.

”They came back dead,” Spencer explained to Hill, ”Adrian doesn’t know. Last night, they had a conflict with the Gray Dwarves, and the God of Smithing intervened.

The Undead lost quite a few lives before they managed to escape to safety.

Strangely, the God of Smithing didn’t chase them very far and stayed in the Gray Dwarf territory.”

Hill couldn’t suppress his curiosity, ”Has he finally decided to go home and rest?”

Spencer burst out laughing, ”His Majesty the King also plans to ask him that.”
