Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 446: Chapter 350: Golden Wings

It’s a day where the sun is shining bright.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect to see such a scorching sun in November, burning the earth like a laser.

Today is her big day.

Even if Zhou Yun herself didn’t feel it, everyone around her would remind her of it, and each did so in a different way.

First to appear was Yao Yuanfeng, as per his usual exaggerated and greasy way of expressing himself, he used overwhelming floridness to convey his excitement and support for Zhou Yun: My dear Xiao Yun, I can’t wait to see you, you are the most talented and gifted actress I’ve ever met, ”Life” is the beginning of our collaboration, I’m so happy to witness your success and glory, I believe tonight will be another important moment of honor, I’ll wait for you!

Zhou Yun read it with shocked pupils, her first reaction was that the text must not have been written by Yao Yuanfeng, it must have been written by a secretary he had arranged, written in such a ”translation style”, it felt like reading a translated foreign novel.

She replied with a sentence: Thank you, President Yao, see you tonight.

The second one to send a congratulatory message was He Yong: I don’t know how to express how proud I am of you, you are now the undisputed top actress of Chengqian, and an example for all artists in the company. Tonight is your night!

Zhou Yun thought, could it be that He Yong and Yao Yuanfeng were using the same secretary?

By the third person, things finally normalized.

It was Yuk Chu: Xiao Yun, I’m really happy for you, see you tonight.

After that, Wen Xi, Lew Yuan, Wen Binglan, Kang Xin... Friends she knew in the entertainment circle sent congratulatory messages, each one aware that today was the premiere of ”Life”, Zhou Yun’s big day.

What surprised Zhou Yun was that even Lew Qingqing sent a message of congratulations.

Zhou Yun felt she had not heard from Lew Qingqing in a long time.

An unfortunate piece of news, the project ”Luoyan” that Zhou Yun had been interested in before but ultimately gave up because Lew Qingqing had signed a performance agreement in advance, had to reshoot due to one of the male supporting actors being exposed for cheating. The male supporting actor had a heavy role, especially with many scenes opposite Zhou Yun. Lew Qingqing had to stay with the crew to reshoot with the actor who was suddenly recruited to fill in.

Over the past year, it became very obvious that as Zhou Yun and Xu Siyao both rose meteorically, Lew Qingqing, stuck on set filming and not appearing in public activities for a long time, there seemed to be a subtle reshuffle happening in the actress rankings.

Lew Qingqing and Su Yan both lost several endorsements—of course, these endorsements weren’t yet going to Xu Siyao, mainly being divided between Zhou Yun and Wei Ruxue.

If Zhou Yun dominated the beginning of the year and the golden autumn, then Wei Ruxue was the queen who dominated the high summer. The two occupied the top two spots on the list of popular actresses for the year, and they did so deservedly.

Zhou Yun truly felt a kind of cruelty.

Those who were not famous tried desperately to become famous, while the famous ones also had to face the threat of becoming passé every day.

Zhou Lan heard Zhou Yun’s sentiment and joked with her: ”Missy, you’re only twenty-four years old, in the prime of your youth, with such a great upward momentum. Even if one day you do have to face the danger of falling out of favor, that’s at least a decade away. Can you stop worrying about this now?”

Zhou Yun emphasized: ”I’m not worried about fading away someday, I’m just suddenly feeling this way this year, sharing with you.”

Zhou Lan speechlessly said: ”Apart from you, I’m afraid I can’t find a second person who would feel sentimental about becoming passé on their own movie premiere day. You really are courageously talented.”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

”Why are you speaking so sharply now?” Zhou Yun clicked her tongue.

Zhou Lan patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder, ”Don’t be busy criticizing my sharpness, the most important thing for you today is to keep yourself beautiful, beautifully beyond description, step onto the premiere’s red carpet, and overshadow all the flashes.”

”That’s an exaggeration.” Zhou Yun said. ”The kind of beauty you’re talking about only appears on Cleopatra.”

”Who knows what Cleopatra looked like? Maybe she wasn’t even half as good-looking as you.” Now Zhou Lan had more confidence in Zhou Yun’s appearance than Zhou Yun herself.

It’s terrifying.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel a trace of anxiety.

”Why do I feel like everyone is paying attention to this premiere? I’m suddenly a bit nervous, what should I do?” Zhou Yun covered her heart.

Zhou Lan held Zhou Yun’s face with both hands, suddenly showing a tender and kind expression and earnestly told her: ”It’s normal to be nervous, this is your first premiere, but dear, cut out the whining, time waits for no one, now, right away, immediately go to the beauty salon!”

”...” Zhou Yun thought Zhou Lan had gone crazy.

On her way to the beauty salon, Zhou Lan’s phone never stopped ringing, both of her phones ringing incessantly, on one side she was cooing with a sweet voice, ”Of course, you must come tonight, how can it be without you, you are my most important friend, what else? Do you really want me to give your front-row seat to someone else?”, then on the other phone, she instantly switched her tone, it was clear she was speaking with someone from the company, speaking at breakneck speed without a pause, ”Today Zhou Yun’s name and the title ’Life’ marked with book quotation marks must appear in all the press release titles, you deal with all the media, since they’ve taken our red envelopes, they must do what we ask, regardless of the reason. Unless the author of the article has won a Pulitzer or Nobel Prize, they must do as we say.”

Previously, Zhou Yun might have thought this way of speaking was too domineering, but now Zhou Yun could accept Zhou Lan hissing like a snake beside her with composure.

On this busy, relentlessly spinning globe, one grudgingly had to admit that if you plan to deal with everything in a nice tone, you will inevitably end up with a perfunctory outcome, if not this time, then next time.

It’s truly a wonderful day, with the bright sunshine and fresh air, everyone met was so warm, fitting.

As the sun gradually sank, taking on the outline and color of the setting sun, the sky appeared like a magnificent oil painting unfurled before everyone’s eyes.

Zhou Yun changed into the gorgeous dress prepared by VX, got into the car, headed towards the venue for this premiere.

The S Grand Theater.

Zhou Yun turned to look at the man sitting beside her, suited and booted, looking every bit the elite from head to toe. The setting sun shining in through the window granted his brows a golden wing.

This time, Song Chi sat by her side as they set off.
