Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 430: Chapter 340: An Unexpected Encounter

Wan Zhiliang helplessly shrugged his shoulders and said, ”Whatever you say is what it is, I won’t argue.”

Zhou Yun sat down in the armchair, curious, and asked, ”Director Wan, are they really that unsuitable for your next movie?”

Wan Zhiliang said, ”It’s not about suitability.”

”Then it’s about unsuitability.” Zhou Yun asserted confidently.

Wan Zhiliang widened his eyes, ”That’s not what I’m saying.”

”If they really suited the role, you wouldn’t be avoiding them like the plague.” Zhou Yun smiled, ”Don’t think you can fool me.”

Wan Zhiliang laughed and sighed sincerely, ”I really do wish you could star in it, but according to your agent, your schedule is already fully booked.”

”Indeed.” Zhou Yun smiled amiably, ”No worries, we can collaborate on a good project next time; there’s plenty of time.”

Wan Zhiliang shook his head, lamenting, ”If only those two could think like you, I wouldn’t have to avoid them so much. Xiao Yun, take my advice, if you see a role or film you really like in the future, don’t exhaust all your efforts to block others. It will only push them further away.”

Zhou Yun’s smile brightened as she nodded and said, ”Okay, I’ll remember their lesson.”

Half an hour later, staff announced the scene was ready, and there was work to be done, so Wan Zhiliang didn’t have to keep avoiding Xu Siyao and the other.

Using ”busy” as a legitimate excuse, he managed to send both of them away.

Zhou Yun wrapped up shooting in the afternoon and didn’t follow the drama to its end.

As for how Wan Zhiliang handled Xu Siyao and her companion afterward, that was Wan Zhiliang’s own business.

In the evening, Zhou Yun didn’t want to dine at the hotel restaurant; she was tired of eating either at the production canteen or the hotel restaurant almost every day.

Since she had no other plans that night, Zhou Yun decided to look for a restaurant outside.

Upon hearing Zhou Yun was going out, Zheng Xiaojue immediately called Cao Jun.

”With Xiao Cao around, he can fend off paparazzi or fans if, like before, you get surrounded,” Zheng Xiaojue said with an air of experience.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh, saying, ”That’s only happened once or twice.”

”But even once or twice is not good. What if you get cornered?” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I’m not at ease with you going out alone.”

Seeing Zheng Xiaojue’s earnest expression, Zhou Yun felt surprised; Zheng Xiaojue seldom spoke to her with such an unquestionable tone before.

Zhou Yun had nothing else to say, really. What else could she say? She smiled and nodded, ”Okay, let’s go together.”

Cao Jun drove Zhou Yun and the others to a famous nearby restaurant.

Zhou Yun had always wanted to go there but had never been.

After parking the car, Cao Jun went ahead to book a private room, and then Zheng Xiaojue accompanied Zhou Yun inside.

No sooner had they entered the room and sat down than Zhou Yun’s phone buzzed twice.

To her surprise, it was a message from Meng Ran: Sister Xiao Yun, are you also dining at Butterfly?

Butterfly was the name of the restaurant she was currently in.

Zhou Yun was taken aback, focusing on that word ”also.”

Did that mean... Meng Ran was also here?

Before she could reply, Meng Ran sent another message: I’m dining at Butterfly and saw someone who looks a lot like you.

Zhou Yun thought to herself, what a coincidence.

She texted back: Yes, it’s me, what a coincidence that you’re here too. Are you alone?

Meng Ran replied: With one more person.

But Meng Ran didn’t say who that person was.

Zhou Yun took her seat.

Zheng Xiaojue had already opened the menu and asked, ”Sister Xiaoju, what shall we eat?”

Zhou Yun said, ”You pick, order their signature dishes.”

Zheng Xiaojue gave an Ok sign and agreed.
