Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 427: Chapter 338: Who Are They Here For?

Zhou Yun didn’t want to put Shen Yao in a difficult position. While inwardly mocking Yu Sitian, she also spoke up, saying, ”In Brother Shen’s eyes, our acting skills are nothing impressive, so let’s not make Brother Shen exaggerate and praise us against his will.”

Zhou Yun swore she could hear Shen Yao breathe a sigh of relief.

Shen Yao spread his hands, looking innocently at the two of them, and said, ”I swear to God, if I’ve told even half a lie just now, may lightning strike me down.”

”Hahaha, Brother Shen is so nervous he’s sweating,” Liu Yuqian approached with a laugh, ”Sitian, really, asking Brother Shen such a question, how is he supposed to answer that? So, tell me, who has better acting skills, Meng Ran or me?”

Another brave soul, sacrificing herself to save others from discomfort.

Yu Sitian was caught off guard by Liu Yuqian’s sudden interruption and didn’t respond for a long while.

Of course, she couldn’t say that Liu Yuqian’s acting was better, nor could she say that Meng Ran’s was.

Yu Sitian: ”...”

She looked at Liu Yuqian with dissatisfaction and said, ”Why did you come so late? I told you just yesterday that I’d be visiting the set today.”

Liu Yuqian affectionately exclaimed and hugged Yu Sitian’s arm, saying, ”I had to shoot a big nighttime scene yesterday and just couldn’t get up early, you really have no consideration for me.”

Yu Sitian rolled her eyes.

From the actions of the two, unexpectedly, they actually seemed to be good friends.

But regardless, Liu Yuqian successfully brought the topic to an end.

Zhou Yun felt like she had broken out in a cold sweat for nothing.

Yu Sitian’s influence was the same as always; when she wanted to be contentious with someone, she didn’t care about the occasion.

Zhou Yun pondered whether she had been put at a disadvantage a moment ago, and after carefully confirming that she hadn’t, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Shen Yao pulled Zhou Yun aside and said, ”Don’t stoop to her level.”

Zhou Yun said speechlessly, ”Brother Shen, she’s the one who’s being petty, you should be telling this to her.”

”Everyone knows why she’s lashing out at you, who told you to snatch the man she likes,” Shen Yao said.

Zhou Yun scoffed and said, ”What do you mean I snatched the man she likes? Even if I didn’t get together with Song Chi, would she have been able to win him over? She’s liked Song Chi for so many years, and he never gave her the time of day, don’t put the blame on me.”

Shen Yao noticed that Zhou Yun was more irritable than usual when this topic was brought up.

He guessed that something must have happened between the two in private.

But it was not his place to ask about such matters.

He touched his own nose.

Zhou Yun said, ”Brother Shen, don’t worry about my issues with Yu Sitian, we won’t cause any serious problems, it won’t affect the film.”

Shen Yao indeed was worried that the discord between the two of them would become too serious and widely known, affecting the release of the movie.

The domestic film environment is different; such negative news is not beneficial at all for the promotion of a film. Here, it refers to passing censorship and getting a release.

Zhou Yun held back her temper and pretended as if Yu Sitian didn’t exist, diligently preparing to shoot without being distracted.

Throughout the morning’s shooting, Yu Sitian was squatting on the side like a door god, glaring with her lantern-like eyes, as if saying, ”I want to see just what kind of play-acting you’re going to do?!”

Zhou Yun usually didn’t have a competitive spirit when acting, but this time her competitiveness was particularly strong.

She put her all into it, determined to show Yu Sitian just how well she could perform!

After the scene was shot, Wan Zhiliang called Cut, and Yu Sitian started clapping loudly, exclaiming, ”Qianqian, your performance was amazing! You totally captivated my eyes, it’s so annoying, I daren’t act with you in the future.”

Liu Yuqian: ”...”

Zhou Yun looked at Yu Sitian with pity, thinking to herself, would her mood really be affected by such a low-level trick?

Heh.

Immediately following, Zhou Yun cursed in her heart: blind as a bat.

She saw Shen Yao give her a thumbs up.

Zhou Yun: ”...”

It didn’t make her feel any happier, though.

At this moment, what she wanted to see even more was Yu Sitian’s face filled with unwillingness. The more unwilling and envious Yu Sitian was, the more it proved that Zhou Yun had shaken her profoundly.

Unfortunately, she didn’t witness that scene.

Zhou Yun was somewhat annoyed.

The irritation was uncontrollable, raging through her body like a wild horse.

”Director Wan, Brother Shen—”

Just then, a voice that was all too familiar to Zhou Yun rang through the studio like a lark.

Zhou Yun turned around incredulously.

But when she saw Xu Siyao swaying her hips as she walked in, the phrase ”What’s the fuck?” popped into her head.

What auspicious day was it today? One after another, the two people Zhou Yun liked the least in the entertainment industry unexpectedly appeared at the same time.

Seeing Xu Siyao, the studio’s staff couldn’t suppress their gossip and started to whisper amongst themselves.

Many of them glanced at Zhou Yun.

The conflict between Zhou Yun and Xu Siyao was even more famous than her issues with Yu Sitian, having made it onto the trending searches on Weibo.

Xu Siyao was followed by two assistants, who were carrying big and small bags, though it was unclear who they were for.

”Sister Xiao Yun!” she waved excitedly at Zhou Yun, ”Ah, Sister Xiao Yun, you’re still so beautiful, I’m so jealous.”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath and maintained her smile.

”Why did you come all of a sudden?”

Xu Siyao’s eyes smiled, ”Because I... came to see you.”

”...” Zhou Yun looked at her coldly, cutting straight to the point, ”Then why did you call for Director Wan and Brother Shen as soon as you came in? If people didn’t know better, they’d think you were here for them.”

Zhou Yun’s words were tantamount to slapping Xu Siyao in the face.

Xu Siyao kept her composure and said, ”I respect them a lot, Sister Xiao Yun, you wouldn’t get mad just because I called out their names first, would you? I know you’re not that petty, right?”

”I am that petty, you’ve known me long enough.” Zhou Yun was not about to let Xu Siyao morally kidnap her.

In front of everyone, she said to Shen Yao and Wan Zhiliang, ”Although Xu Siyao and I are signed artists under the same company, I’m not that close to her. Don’t get the wrong idea. I don’t know what exactly she’s planning by using the excuse of visiting me today, but it’s probably to see you guys, I don’t care, you have your chat.”

She scoffed and said, ”I mean, you two didn’t arrange to come here together in advance, right? It’s almost like a movie scene, with one following right after the other.”

Her gaze swept over Yu Sitian and Xu Siyao.

”Have a nice talk.”

Having said that, she left what she considered to be an elegant exit.

Shen Yao turned his head to look at Wan Zhiliang and whispered to him: ”Did they come here for you, or did they come for me?”

Wan Zhiliang said honestly, ”I hope they’re here for you, it’s not related to me.”
