Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 404: Chapter 322: A Turning Point (Part 4)

Yu Zhiyang’s performance was not particularly good, but it was incredibly sincere.

He stood in front of everyone, reciting the lines written by Zheng Xiaowen.

”I know I’m not as impressive as the other men you’ve met, but I will try my best, believe me, I like you, so I will try hard.”

His voice did not fluctuate greatly, nor did it carry a full load of emotional intensity.

He simply spoke earnestly in a low voice.

His gaze wasn’t as firm as Lao Boyi’s, exuding a ”Who else if not me?” confidence, nor was it as passionate as Zhou Jianfeng’s, as if he was about to embrace the other person in the next second.

But he was like a quiet, reserved college student, cautiously hiding his embarrassment in front of the girl he likes, striving to make a promise he could offer.

His plainness became authenticity, his expressionlessness carefully concealed his nervousness.

Zhou Yun felt she was not objective at all, having lost her rationale.

She was so drawn in, genuinely believing that Yu Zhiyang was her male lead.

She knew she had made up her mind, and now everything that followed needed her to defend it.

”I know Xiaoyun appreciates Yu Zhiyang, but from a staffing perspective, Yu Zhiyang’s agency has changed attitudes too much, including previously barring him from attending follow-up auditions, there’s significant potential risk. What if we’re halfway through shooting and his agency suddenly disagrees with him filming this movie?” one of the executives from Chengqian Film and Television said.

”I also think this is a major risk factor. Yu Zhiyang’s agency isn’t specifically for managing artists; his company is just him alone, and everyone knows his situation; there are too many uncontrollable elements.”

After several people expressed their skepticism towards Yu Zhiyang, He Yong looked at Zhou Yun before speaking, ”Yu Zhiyang is undoubtedly talented, it’s undeniable. Xiaoyun liking Yu Zhiyang is quite reasonable, and I like him a lot too, honestly, I’ve even thought about poaching Yu Zhiyang to mentor him personally.”

Everyone chuckled understandingly.

”However, the problems mentioned do exist, using him as the male lead is indeed risky,” He Yong said, ”If we don’t use Yu Zhiyang, between Lao Boyi and Zhou Jianfeng, Xiaoyun, who would you choose?”

Zhou Yun glanced at him.

”Everyone doesn’t support choosing Yu Zhiyang, is that right?” she asked.

She didn’t answer He Yong’s question.

Everyone looked at each other, and for a moment, no one spoke.

Zhou Yun sighed softly, ”Then what should we do, my only choice is Yu Zhiyang.”

He Yong frowned.

Zheng Xiaowen looked at Zhou Yun in surprise, wanting to say something, but hesitated.

Zhou Yun said, ”Since everyone isn’t very satisfied with Yu Zhiyang’s performance today, how about this, Sister Lan, shall we organize another round of auditions?”

Zhou Lan nodded, agreeing.

”Hold on, Xiaoyun, everyone was satisfied with Yu Zhiyang’s performance, there’s no need to discuss that again,” He Yong hastily said.

”Oh, I thought no one supported Yu Zhiyang because I was too biased towards him,” Zhou Yun said, ”So it seems only I can see his good qualities, and no one else felt it.”

He Yong: ”We are worried about his company’s issues.”

”Sign a contract, if not assured, just set a higher penalty for breach. If his company plays tricks, we can firmly sue them,” Zhou Yun said, ”Is using Zhou Jianfeng and Lao Boyi risk-free?”

He Yong said, ”The risk is relatively smaller.”

”But they are not as good as Yu Zhiyang,” Zhou Yun said, ”For this film, the male lead I really want is Yu Zhiyang.”

The room fell into silence.

Zhou Yun’s firm stance, her decisiveness, was starkly different from her previous attitudes, surprising everyone.

If Zhou Yun hadn’t just gone public with Song Chi, many might start suspecting her personal relationship with Yu Zhiyang.

Zhou Yun said, ”Would everyone consider my opinion? It’s okay, if it really doesn’t work out, changing the actor is also an option.”

She is also an actress.

An hour later, Zhou Lan came out of the building and got into the car.

Zhou Yun was holding a cup of coffee, listening to music.

Zhou Lan closed the car door and said, ”He Yong was so furious he cursed behind closed doors for half an hour.”

”What then?” Zhou Yun asked.
