Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 419: Chapter 331: Soul Perspective

It’s impossible to wrap up the shoot today.

Yan Zhenxi only has one scene today, but Zhou Yun has three.

Although the combined length of these three scenes might not even equal one normal scene.

The script of ”Warm Little Horse” itself is set up this way; there aren’t long dialogues, and scenes and speeches change rapidly.

Yan Zhenxi plays a hot-tempered landlady, which comes naturally to her.

On the other hand, Zhou Yun NG’ed several times.

She is somewhat uncertain about the state of her character. A behavior that’s pretentious between being aloof and proactive. But in fact, the comic element of the drama is built upon making her character look ridiculous. Shen Yao just wants to wash his hair, but to make him stay, she secretly slashes the tire of Shen Yao’s motorcycle, and then when he worries about where to stay at night, she actively offers a guest room in her rental.

Her story mainly takes place over this one day and night.

During the day, Zhou Yun competes with several others in the shop for the chance to wash his hair and finally wins.

In the hair washing room, when she tries to make advances, she’s interrupted by various accidents and it all comes to nothing.

Upon learning that he will leave after washing his hair, she secretly slashes his motorcycle’s tire.

After bringing him home, she starts a round of ”seduction.”

Up to this point, her character is somewhat negative.

But the turn takes place during a conversation.

Faced with her seduction, Shen Yao says in horror, ”Miss, I don’t pay for sex, I have no money.”

Zhou Yun pats her own thigh grandly, saying: ”I wouldn’t ask you for money anyway, do you really think I believe you’re loaded?”

Shen Yao misunderstands and says: ”Then what do you want from me? I am a playboy, I can’t stay.”

Zhou Yun rolls her eyes and says: ”If you were to stay, I wouldn’t want you anyway.”

Shen Yao gets even more confused, ”Then, what do you want?”

Zhou Yun says: ”What else could it be? Aren’t you a man? Stop the nonsense, come on up!”

Shen Yao: ”No, miss, what are you after?”

At this moment, Zhou Yun’s eyes glitter with mischief, she says: ”What else but your body.”

Up to this point, Zhou Yun’s character undergoes a substantive change.

Before this scene, Zhou Yun is competing with her sisters over a man, a man who seems wealthy. Her seduction is aimed at his material possessions.

In this scene, it clarifies the intention of the character played by Zhou Yun. She is only interested in this man who unexpectedly came into her life, just craving a momentary fling.

The scene today is about that.

Zhou Yun’s rental room is also a set constructed inside the studio.

Zhou Yun is a bit nervous.

Especially since Yu Mengyao is also watching.

Interfering with her getting into the role.

Wan Zhiliang discusses the scene with Zhou Yun, emphasizing: ”You mustn’t be too flirty, even though it’s seduction, but she’s very clear in her mind, this man can’t possibly not like you, from your point of view, he’s just a secretly lustful man, you’re just trying to hook out that bit of something inside him.”

Zhou Yun feels pressured.

She nods and says, ”I’ll give it a try.”

During the first take, Zhou Yun walks Shen Yao into her little room.

”It’s a bit messy, just sit wherever,” she says shyly as she glances back at Shen Yao.

Shen Yao is also quite uneasy, looking around and sizing up the interior, ”This... won’t I be troubling you?”

”What trouble?” Zhou Yun lightly laughs, saying, ”Usually, no one visits my place.”

Her gaze unintentionally collides with Shen Yao.

Shen Yao is stunned.

Zhou Yun lowers her head with a smile, ”Have a seat.”

Shen Yao: ”You... why are you suddenly acting coy?”

Zhou Yun’s cheeks flush, saying: ”Don’t you understand?”

Shen Yao is confused, ”I don’t understand.”

Zhou Yun irritably glares at Shen Yao, ”You act well.”

She blushes and lowers her head with a shy smile again.

Shen Yao opens his mouth, struggling to find words: ”...”

”Cut!” Wan Zhiliang shouts.

Zhou Yun and Shen Yao both turn their heads.

Shooting such a scene, everything said in the scene is justifiable, but once it ends, it’s still a bit embarrassing.

Wan Zhiliang comes over and asks, ”Xiao Yun, are you a bit nervous?”

Zhou Yun nods, asking, ”Is it that obvious? I thought I had it under control.”

”When you’re nervous, your speaking speed speeds up,” Wan Zhiliang explains, ”The tempo gets a bit messy.”

Zhou Yun nods and says, ”The second take should be better.”

She knows her problem. These words, these actions, if it was based on her own character, she wouldn’t typically say or do such things. Because of this barrier, although she understands the character’s motives, she can’t fully immerse herself. There’s an inexplicable sense of shame.

Shen Yao chuckles, saying, ”Xiao Yun, were you nervous just now? I didn’t really notice; you acted pretty well, I thought you wouldn’t be able to pull it off.”

Zhou Yun hops on the spot and says, ”Let’s do it again.”

This psychological inability to relate, Zhou Yun feels she can only overcome this shame by performing repeatedly.

After the second take,—

Wan Zhiliang says, ”Xiao Yun, your nervousness decreased a bit, but it’s still there, especially during those laughs, you need to provide some motivation.”

The motivation behind laughs, like why she’s coy, why she looks down.

Of course, Zhou Yun knows the motivations, but her problem is still the same. Because she isn’t fully immersed in the character, she can’t naturally react and express emotions but rather hits her marks and makes expressions accordingly.

Third and fourth takes.

Zhou Yun starts to feel her nervousness lifting.

She turns to look at Shen Yao.

Shen Yao is indeed handsome. Although he is no longer as fresh-faced as he was when he was younger, he still has a handsome charm.

Dong Zhimei came out to the town from the countryside to work. She had never met a cool, handsome man like Shen Yao in real life, so she indeed had a crush, wanting to sleep with this man just once.

She also knows she’s somewhat attractive. The ambiguous interactions with Shen Yao in the hair salon make her believe that Shen Yao has feelings for her. She takes the initiative, facing Shen Yao’s bewilderment, she thinks he is pretending to be naïve, or rather, playing hard to get. Thus, she takes initiative to help Shen Yao drop the pretense.

For Dong Zhimei, this is the most handsome man she has ever met, and she feels he is worthy of her.

Zhou Yun, of course, thinks Dong Zhimei’s thinking is narrow, but on the other hand, she understands Dong Zhimei’s perspective. She was born in the countryside, has never been to a big city, and the men around her are all quite ordinary. At this moment, Shen Yao is a private vanity for her.

Zhou Yun finally immerses herself into Dong Zhimei’s perspective and soul.

”Director, I’m ready.”
