Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 407: Chapter 323: Remolding the Shampoo Girl

After shopping at the supermarket with Yu Mengyao, Zhou Yun was dropped off at the hotel by her. Zhou Yun thanked her, took her stuff, and got out of the car.

Zheng Xiaojue was waiting for her and helped her bring the things up.

She whispered excitedly: ”Sister Xiao Yun, this production team is quite extravagant, they booked the best suite for you, and even arranged very nice double rooms for me and Cao Jun.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh after hearing Zheng Xiaojue’s words.

She said: ”Big productions are really generous.”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded in agreement.

Back at the hotel, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, started filling the bathtub with water, and prepared to take a bath.

Dealing with Yu Mengyao was a bit draining.

Zhou Yun still guessed why Yu Mengyao came today. She understood the implications behind Yu Mengyao’s words. With Shen Yao being the most popular actor right now, his side surely isn’t lacking women throwing themselves at him. That’s why Yu Mengyao follows him to every set, and showed up directly on the first day Zhou Yun arrived, to assert her dominance.

Zhou Yun didn’t mind Yu Mengyao’s behavior, as she herself also had a possessive desire over Song Chi.

But she had to admit, it did make her a bit uncomfortable.

Zhou Yun hoped that by showing friendliness, she could alleviate Yu Mengyao’s wariness. But evidently, Yu Mengyao wasn’t truly reassured. Maybe in her mind, every woman in this world had to be guarded against.

Song Chi called.

Zhou Yun then talked to Song Chi about this matter.

Song Chi said: ”Shen Yao’s wife is quite jealous. I’ve heard that she’s argued with Shen Yao many times over this, but actually, from what I know, Shen Yao has really been very well-behaved.”

Zhou Yun asked: ”What about you?”

”Huh?” Song Chi cautiously asked, ”Why has the fire suddenly spread to me?”

”Ah, forget it, never mind me, I’m baffled by myself, disliking her suspicious attitude on one hand, yet still wanting to ask you on the other,” Zhou Yun sighed, ”The weakness of human nature.”

Song Chi laughed out loud, ”Here comes the weakness of human nature. I promise you, I will also keep myself clean and definitely not cheat.”

”Alright, please behave well.” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll try not to become someone like Yu Mengyao.”

Song Chi: ”You also shouldn’t make your dislike and dissatisfaction too obvious, if you still hope to work with Shen Yao in the future. She will try every means to prevent her husband from working with actresses she dislikes.”

”That harsh.” Zhou Yun was surprised.

Song Chi said: ”Yes, it’s a well-known saying in the industry, if you can handle Shen Yao’s wife, you can definitely handle Shen Yao.”

”Brother Shen listens to his wife that much?” Zhou Yun was even more surprised.

”From what I understand, yes,” Song Chi laughed.

Zhou Yun clicked her tongue twice and said, ”I really didn’t see that coming.”

”Today was the first day joining the crew, did you shoot any scenes?” Song Chi asked.

”Not yet, just had dinner with the director and Brother Shen, then went to the supermarket with Yu Mengyao.” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll shoot my first scene tomorrow.”

Song Chi: ”Then you should rest early, gather your energy.”

”Ah, I’m so nervous, I’m not feeling confident,” Zhou Yun said, ”Especially since I’ve never acted in a comedy before, I really don’t know how to do it.”

”No worries, when you acted in ’Heart Inquiry’ before, you also had no experience, but you still performed so well that even Director Kang Xin was thoroughly convinced and praised you highly.”

Zhou Yun blushed.

”Ah, I really have no confidence right now, what if I keep NG-ing tomorrow?” Zhou Yun worried.

Actually, if she hadn’t won the Best Actress at the Horizons Unit, she wouldn’t have felt such a heavy burden.

Worst case scenario, she just wouldn’t perform well and get scolded by the director.

But now, having received that award, everyone praises her talent and charisma, calling her an actress blessed by heavens.

This is troubling, the mental burden becomes particularly heavy.

If I act poorly, everyone will be shocked.

Can I even win the Movie Queen like this?

How low are the standards for a Movie Queen?

With such concerns, I’ll be nervous, uneasy, and more hesitant, unable to let go and perform.

Zhou Yun suddenly felt the pressure of ”To wear the crown, you must bear its weight.”

”Ptui, ptui, wanting to wear the crown and bear its weight, acting as if I’m already a Movie Queen,” Zhou Yun scolded herself, ”Don’t you know your own limits? Just act as you should, the worst case is you mess up.”

She scolded herself like this and felt much better.

Indeed, why am I pushing myself so hard? Afraid of messing up?

If it’s messed up, then it’s messed up, what can be done?

The next morning, Zheng Xiaojue came to wake Zhou Yun up.

She went to the makeup room to get ready, a well-practiced routine.

This time she was playing a shampoo girl, so the costume and makeup were relatively simple, unlike when shooting ”Heart Inquiry” where makeup and styling took over an hour every day.

The makeup artist designed a plain and simple look for Zhou Yun, tying her hair into a ponytail, wearing a plaid shirt and a pair of jeans, an appearance easily seen anywhere.

But Zhou Yun’s features were outstanding, even with such a look, there was still an aura of pure beauty like a lotus flower rising from clear water.

Zhou Yun and the makeup artist looked at each other.

”Is it different from what you imagined when you designed it?” Zhou Yun asked with a smile.

The makeup artist felt somewhat helpless and said, ”Your face is too hard to hide, unless you intentionally make yourself look ugly.”

Zhou Yun thought for a moment and said, ”If the role requires me to look ugly, I don’t mind doing that, but she’s just a shampoo girl, there’s no need to intentionally make it ugly; that would seem forced.”

The makeup artist nodded, saying, ”That’s a bit melancholy.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”What about styling my hair into black, long, and straight?”

Zhou Yun’s current hair had some waves, and making it completely black and straight would slightly lessen the impact on her face shape.

The makeup artist nodded and styled Zhou Yun’s hair.

At that moment, the director’s assistant came to ask if Zhou Yun was ready.

Zhou Yun looked at herself in the mirror, still not quite satisfied.

It didn’t quite match her impression of the ”shampoo girls” she had seen.

”Remove the makeup, go completely bare-faced, don’t even apply foundation,” Zhou Yun told the makeup artist.

The makeup artist was a bit surprised, ”Really? This is a movie, being completely unmade up on the big screen might expose every flaw.”

”This is more realistic,” Zhou Yun said, ”Even though this is a comedy movie, Brother Shen has also told me that the movie should be shot as realistically as possible, not too extravagant in style. It’s okay, let’s try it, and if it doesn’t work, we can do the makeup again.”

Hearing this, the makeup artist no longer hesitated and began removing Zhou Yun’s makeup.

Soon, Zhou Yun had her face completely bare.

Her skin was good, but even the best skin has some flaws when bare.

But this face looked much better.

Absolute perfection is never truly beautiful.

Zhou Yun nodded, feeling this was very acceptable.

She met the director and Shen Yao looking just like this.
