Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

However, Chen Shuzhen could never have imagined that despite her diligent efforts, she had not unearthed a single piece of incriminating evidence about our army; discontented, she tried every possible way to enter the Chinese peacekeeping camp to look for scandal.

She couldn’t believe that being in such close contact, she couldn’t find any dirt on the Chinese soldiers!

In this regard, Ye Jian stated that even if she entered the Chinese peacekeeping camp and monitored it day and night without rest, she wouldn’t find a single bit of disgrace on the strictly disciplined peacekeeping force.

”Later, go remind the peacekeeping female soldiers to be careful,” Xia Jinyuan, who had been sitting in the passenger seat, turned his head and instructed Ye Jian, ”She has a certain reputation in Wanhai, and whenever she reports on something, it sparks a frenzy in Wanhai. Since she has come with a purpose, she will not easily give up, prudence is paramount.”

With a solemn expression, Ye Jian nodded, ”Okay, I’ll go and remind the female soldiers right away!”

The sentinel had already verified that Reporter Chen’s pass had no issues and immediately allowed her entry.

Just when Reporter Chen’s mood had slightly improved upon entering the camp, it soured again when the two accompanying peacekeeping female soldiers prevented her from taking photos with a stern and forceful expression.

”Reporter Chen, the Chinese peacekeeping camp is a military zone, and no one is allowed to take pictures at will. We have designated areas for photography; please come with me.”

The female soldiers who received Reporter Chen were none other than Qiu Tong and Gao Xiao. The pair, one dynamic and one static, one stern and one friendly, worked in perfect harmony and were highly regarded by the colonels in charge of the camp.

Upon learning that a Wanhai reporter had entered the camp with a pass, the colonels were crystal clear about her intentions and immediately arranged for these two women to meet her.

At that moment, Reporter Chen faced Gao Xiao and Qiu Tong, scowling from start to finish, without even a chance to sneak a photo.

Ye Jian had already met with the female soldiers. Having not seen them for over ten days, they were all grinning ear to ear when they saw Ye Jian, chattering nonstop around her.

They spoke about how a mortar had landed less than two hundred meters away at the southwest corner of the camp, with bomb shards blasting into the camp, putting the entire camp on high alert, ready to open fire at any moment.

They mentioned a group of rebels disguised as the Pakistan army who attempted to drive into the camp to create chaos but were discovered by the sentinel, and the peacekeeping soldiers assembled in thirty seconds, prepared for a full defense.

”Just the day before yesterday, an engineer squad entered a village to repair and level a blown-up road, ensuring that the villagers cut off from water and food could travel, and children could go to school normally. However, they were surrounded by armed militants, and the situation was extremely tense with some villagers already killed by the militants. The leader of the engineer squad stepped forward to negotiate, and after a fourteen-hour standoff, the militants finally withdrew.”

”Yesterday, they came back, and one male soldier said that they were all prepared for the worst,” said the female soldiers in low voices. In just less than half a month, they had witnessed the most brutal side of war, facing a harsh environment and cruel warfare, their growth was remarkably rapid, their expressions much more resolute than half a month ago.

Peacekeeping Female Soldier Ding Yue’e patted her over twenty kilograms of bulletproof gear and smiled at Ye Jian, ”At first, I wasn’t used to wearing it at all, but now I’ve gotten so used to it that I don’t even feel its weight.”

”It’s a lifesaver in critical moments; you must get used to it,” Ye Jian said and then, as if struck by a thought, her eyes darkened slightly, ”Does this mean you’ve joined the patrol team?”
