Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Cyril, sensing something might be amiss at the hotel, didn’t stand in the center of the lobby as he had before, treating the place as if he owned it. Instead, he sat on a sofa in the hotel’s resting area, the spacious and brightly-lit French windows behind him had been shattered earlier, and the cool night breeze poured in, fluttering the heavy curtains.

Seated on the sofa, Cyril was extremely vigilant, intentionally breaking the French windows so that if anything unusual happened, he could leave immediately without having to go around to the hotel’s main entrance.

The injured Noah was brought down from the fifth floor to the first, passing through the dark lobby and standing in front of Cyril.

He wanted to stand, but Cyril’s subordinates pressed him to kneel. Noah, wounded in the thigh by a bullet, resisted angrily; he was a soldier, and even now, as a captive, a soldier’s pride did not allow him to kneel to a notorious drug trafficker.

”You should have told everyone in the hotel to stop struggling and obediently lay down their arms. Instead of standing in front of me while still trying to maintain your dignity in defiance,” Cyril said, his voice chilling like a snake slithering through a drain, sending shivers down one’s spine, ”you’d better kneel before me to talk, and perhaps then you’ll have the chance to speak to me.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Noah’s agonized screams filled the entire hotel lobby as someone cruelly dug their fingers into his gunshot wound...

The pain swept over him, causing Noah to break out in a cold sweat as if doused with water.

He still chose not to kneel, instead collapsing to the ground in pain.

The gunfire in the hotel didn’t stop, and Noah, his body convulsing in agony, knew that they had exposed themselves for his sake and the sake of his soldiers. But even if he now ordered them to cease firing, Cyril would not let them go.

No, he could not let them all be exposed; they still needed to remain in the hotel to continue gathering intelligence useful to the country!

Ever since the terrorist attack that happened in September three years ago, their country had been striving to preemptively be aware and prevent such incidents. In a country like Molaban, treasured by terrorists, they must have an intelligence network.

The hotel was their intelligence network, and even if he died, it must not be exposed!

Curled up, Noah desperately clutched his bleeding thigh, pressing down his fear with all his perseverance, gasping for breath, and using all his strength to vocalize his pain, almost bellowing, ”Mr. Cyril, there is a great misunderstanding between us. I still don’t understand why Mr. Cyril would target me, unless someone said something to make you mistake me for someone else!”

”Misunderstanding? No, no, no, it’s not a misunderstanding. You are Caucasian, I know exactly what you want from me. So! There is no misunderstanding between us,” Cyril retorted with a cold smirk.

Will, the ”someone” Noah thought of must be Will; it had to be him saying something in front of Cyril that put him and his soldiers in danger.

Cyril spoke slowly with a sinister smile, ”It’s unfortunate for you, but I will not give you what you want, unless you can buy them all back. But then again, I don’t want to sell to you; you’ll have to take them from me by force.”

”It’s Will, isn’t it? I know, it must be Will.” Noah scoffed coldly, ”He wanted to use Mr. Cyril to get rid of me, that must be his plan. Mr. Cyril, you’ve been deceived, he’s deceived you!”

Will, that damned guy, made him trust him over four damned paintings!
