The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 391: Chapter 391: You Didn’t Think the Treatment Was Free, Did You?_1

Oscar Miller, the one who escaped the net, was ultimately a disaster that Carson Flores had to personally crush to death.

The entire Miller Family was obliterated overnight, and from the favorite child of the heavens Oscar Miller degenerated into a lost and homeless dog—he could not possibly not hate, not possibly forgive.

Unable to exact revenge on Carson Flores, it was within his character to perhaps take his wrath out on Shirley Miller or Samantha Tate, so Oscar Miller had to die.

Having clarified Oscar Miller’s whereabouts, Carson Flores also breathed a slight sigh of relief.

First, he needed to understand his situation and then decide on the next course of action; as a last resort, he himself could make a trip there, and with the strength of a Great Grandmaster, dealing with someone in the realm of Inner Qi was utterly effortless.

The vibrant and bustling Southwest Meeting was underway, but Carson Flores had not joined in on the excitement, spending two days secluded in his room, quietly cultivating.

When the Southwest Meeting successfully concluded, the injuries Carson Flores had sustained were fully healed.

As he gathered his belongings and stepped out of the hotel, Carson Flores immediately saw Jensen Meadows across the street.

Jensen Meadows approached, with a complicated expression on his face, he said, ”Carson Flores, Elder Stein wants to have another talk with you.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Lead the way.”

Jensen Meadows led Carson Flores to a lakeside corridor, where Rocky Stein was resting his arms on the railing, gazing into the lake below as if lost in thought.

Hearing footsteps, Rocky Stein turned his head, glancing at the travel bag in Carson Flores’ hand, ”Returning to Seashore?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”No, going to Misty Mountains.”

Rocky Stein arched an eyebrow, ”The Rich Family in the Misty Mountains?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Right, they asked for my help, so I’m going to check it out.”

Rocky Stein’s expression became slightly nuanced, ”Is it to help with an illness?”

Carson Flores stared at Rocky Stein’s face, ”It seems you know something?”

Rocky Stein shook his head, ”I’m just guessing.”

Carson Flores didn’t want to beat around the bush with Rocky Stein, ”What do you want to say to me?”

Despite feeling rather embarrassed, but for the sake of survival, Rocky Stein still brazenly said, ”I need acupuncture once a year for my condition, and I’d like to keep your contact information. Besides, I want to know what can I do for you to earn the opportunity to be treated the next time?”

Carson Flores gave his number, and Rocky Stein quickly took note of it.

”That Dragon-Tiger Pill you mentioned earlier seems quite powerful, why not start with a few of those?”

Anger flared in Rocky Stein’s eyes, but he had to forcefully suppress it, ”The Dragon-Tiger Pill is no cabbage; I only have one at my disposal. I’ve already offered you the Dragon-Tiger Pill in exchange for treating me, but you refused!”

Carson Flores said with a smile, ”Asking you to kneel and apologize was because of what you did to me before. I forgave you, and that’s why I treated you. But shouldn’t saving someone come with a fee? Surely you don’t think that just because you’ve apologized, you don’t need to pay the doctor’s fee, do you?”

Rocky Stein was dumbfounded.

The logic in Carson Flores’ words was clear and reasonable, leaving no room for rebuttal!

She suddenly regretted calling him, as by doing so, she had just set herself up to be taken advantage of.

Carson Flores smiled, ”What’s the matter, unwilling to pay? That’s fine, too. I’m not one to force others... Goodbye!”

Carson Flores waved nonchalantly and turned to leave.

Rocky Stein was grinding her teeth, her eyes flaming with fury, but in the end, she still called out, ”I’ll give it to you!”

Turning around, Carson Flores said with a smile, ”If you’d just given it to me earlier, why go through all the pretense?”

Rocky Stein glared intensely at Carson Flores, ”If I give you the Dragon-Tiger Pill, am I guaranteed treatment the next time my illness flares up?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Of course. I’m a man of my word, but you’ll also have to pay next time.”

Rocky Stein seethed with rage at Carson Flores’ words, ”Money, money, money, are you buried in the stuff? Do you take me for some kind of money tree?”

Feigning surprise, Carson Flores replied, ”I didn’t cause your illness after all, so you can’t blame me, the doctor. You were on death’s door, and I treated you, saving your life. Shouldn’t I charge for that?”

”If you fell ill today, you would go to the hospital, and that would cost money. You pay for the visit, are treated, and take medicine which cures you. But if you fell ill again a month or two later, the same illness, you couldn’t tell the doctor that since you paid last time, you won’t pay this time.”

”People aren’t electronic goods that come with a three- to five-year warranty after a repair, where you don’t pay for servicing during the warranty period?”

Rocky Stein’s face turned red, but she had no retort.

The illness was hers; how did it concern Carson Flores? As a doctor, naturally, he charged each time he treated—it was completely reasonable!

Rocky Stein bit her lip, ”I only have one Dragon-Tiger Pill, nothing else!”

Carson Flores smiled, his expression akin to a fox that had caught a little chicken, ”You are an Innate Grandmaster, just that fact alone is quite valuable. If I need help with a fight next time, I’ll give you a call. If you help me out, it can count as payment for one treatment. One intervention in exchange for another year of life, how about that, fair enough?”

Rocky Stein clenched her teeth.

By Carson Flores’ logic, wasn’t she reduced to being his personal enforcer?

She was an Innate Grandmaster after all, the Great Elder of Divine Cloudy Sect. Didn’t she have any dignity?

This was too much!

Looking at Rocky Stein’s nearly contorted face, Carson Flores chuckled, ”Unwilling? That’s fine too. Your Divine Cloudy Sect is rich and powerful, precious treasures like the Dragon-Tiger Pill must be plentiful. Using them to compensate for the treatment fee isn’t a bad idea!”

Rocky Stein took in a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil within her, and even forced a somewhat strained smile on her face.

”No need. Next time you need help... call me.”
