Chapter 382: Chapter 382 If you want to live, don’t make me unhappy_1

Everyone from the Divine Cloudy Sect changed their complexion; their gazes simultaneously fixated on Carson Flores’s face.

Zayne Shepherd shouted angrily, ”You didn’t completely heal Elder Zhang!”

Carson Flores said with a faint smile, ”I mentioned earlier that I could heal about seventy to eighty percent, ensuring that your strength would not be lost, which I did achieve. I never said I could completely cure the condition...”

With a mocking look in his eyes, Carson Flores swept his gaze over the members of the Divine Cloudy Sect and said with a tone of ridicule, ”I’ve just saved a person and haven’t even withdrawn the Silver Needles, and Elder Zhang is already looking at me with murderous intent, eager to cross the river and demolish the bridge, ready to kill the donkey after grinding the wheat. For the sake of my little life, I also had to keep a trick up my sleeve, didn’t I?”

The crowd was momentarily speechless. Rocky Stein’s face also showed an expression of annoyed embarrassment, ”Doctor Burgess, how long can my illness be kept from recurring?”

Aziel Burgess pondered for a moment, ”One year.”

Rocky Stein breathed a sigh of relief; a year’s time was long enough, at least it gave her ample time to seek medical treatment.

As long as she could get treatment from Ali Eaton within a year, or find the trail of the eccentric doctor and receive his treatment, then everything would not be a problem.

Carson Flores was still someone she could kill.

Aziel Burgess hesitated before saying, ”Elder Zhang, the situation inside your body is actually quite bad. Some areas have lost vitality, and it’s only by the use of the Resuscitation Technique to stimulate the potential of vitality that you temporarily seem fine. Completely eradicating the problem is basically impossible. To maintain your current stable condition, you will need to undergo acupuncture every so often.”

Rocky Stein was stunned.

Acupuncture every so often?

Wouldn’t that be the end of her?

Rocky Stein asked with hope, ”How long is the period you mentioned?”

Aziel Burgess replied, ”About a year or so.”

Zayne Shepherd was flabbergasted, ”Does this mean that every year we must find Carson Flores to perform acupuncture again, or else her life would be in danger?”

Aziel Burgess nodded, ”That’s precisely the idea. Of course, someone else could do it too, as long as they’re skilled in the Resuscitation Technique. Sect Master Ali Eaton of the Innate Sect and the eccentric doctor Cartier Holt are also options.”

Rocky Stein’s face turned ashen, Jensen Meadows and Josephine Harrison were dumbstruck, their eyes wide with fear.

Everyone was no fool and naturally understood what Aziel Burgess’s words meant!

Whether it’s Ali Eaton of the Innate Sect or the eccentric doctor Cartier Holt, one was in seclusion and out of reach, the other was elusive as a Divine Dragon - even if Rocky Stein could find either of them, and they agreed to help, they could only manage for one year at a time. Given their statuses, it certainly wasn’t possible for them to provide acupuncture for Rocky Stein every year.

Under the heavens, Carson Flores was the only one left who could extend Rocky Stein’s life.

In other words, whether Rocky Stein could continue to live depended on Carson Flores’s mood!

Rocky Stein’s lifeline was in the hands of Carson Flores; how could she dare speak to Carson Flores in anything but a respectful tone?

No wonder, when Rocky Stein had just reverted to her previously condescending attitude, Carson Flores dared to mock her so unabashedly. He was well aware that if Rocky Stein wanted to stay alive, she wouldn’t dare cross him.

Not only did Rocky Stein not dare do anything to Carson Flores, but she even had to curry favor with him. Otherwise, when the time came, Carson Flores wouldn’t have to do anything; he would just need to disappear for a while and Rocky Stein’s fate would be sealed.

Rocky Stein didn’t know how to get her head around this new reality for the moment and lay on the bed with a wooden expression and a defeated look, not knowing what to think.

Josephine Harrison had long since stopped daring to speak, shrinking behind Jensen Meadows, not even having the courage to look at Carson Flores.

Her only pillar of support, whether she could continue to live, now depended on Carson Flores’s mood. For her to provoke Carson Flores now, wouldn’t that be signing her own death warrant?

Zayne Shepherd’s face also turned awkward, and he had lost his desire to speak. After all, Rocky Stein was now temporarily back to normal. Let her face it herself; he didn’t want to embarrass himself any further.

Zayne Shepherd could guess what Rocky Stein would choose. After all, in order to survive, she had been willing to kneel before hundreds of people; what else was there that she couldn’t do?

Once a person kneels the first time, they stop caring about the second or third.

Carson Flores calmly put the Silver Needles back into his pocket, ”So, do you still want to kill me? If you’re not taking action, then I guess I should leave!”

Rocky Stein came back to her senses and looked at Carson Flores’s face, filled with mockery. She really wanted to smash his face with a punch, but thinking of her own life, Rocky Stein could only hold back, even forcing an extremely reluctant smile onto her face.

”Carson Flores, what must I do for you to perform acupuncture every year to prolong my life?”

Carson Flores said with a light smile, ”That depends on your performance.”
