The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 352: Chapter 352 Maybe it’s the Clarity from Drunkenness_1

Carson Flores watched the two women huddled together, whispering secrets, and felt a bit anxious inside.

What are they talking about?

Why are they so animated?

Was Samantha Tate now disappointed, or even resentful that he had kept her in the dark and not told her?

As he pondered, Camille Rhodes came back, arm in arm with Samantha Tate.

Carson’s gaze fell on Samantha’s face, but to his surprise, her expression was quite calm; there was no sign of agitation.

”Samantha...”

Samantha looked up and suddenly said with a smile, ”Let’s continue drinking. It’s more fun to drink in three than just two of us. Let’s play a game!”

Drinking?

Carson instinctively turned to look at Camille Rhodes, who was smiling sweetly and quietly gave Carson an OK sign with her hand.

OK?

What OK?

Though Carson was unsure, he nonetheless breathed a sigh of relief.

Since Samantha did not bring it up, it wouldn’t be right for Carson to say much more, so they drank.

Perhaps at this moment, making any kind of decision was too difficult; drinking seemed like the most appropriate action, a solution to a thousand sorrows.

The three of them started playing games and drinking.

That night, Samantha got very drunk.

Carson carried Samantha back to the only bedroom and laid her on the bed, then he turned and said, ”You two sleep here. I’ll lie down outside.”

But Camille seized his arm and said with eyes soft like water, ”It’s so cold outside. The bed is wide enough; let’s squeeze in a bit.”

Carson glanced at Samantha, ”What did you tell her?”

Camille pulled Carson down on the bed and said with a smile, ”I told her either to leave you, to tell Mary Jimenez about this so she leaves you, or to pretend as if she knows nothing. How it was before, so it should continue...”

Carson was not stupid and understood immediately, pressing for an answer, ”What did she say?”

Camille laughed softly, ”I don’t know. I’m not the bad guy here. I only offer suggestions; I don’t persuade. Otherwise, if they aren’t happy later, they’ll blame me. Everyone must make their own choices when it comes to fate.”

Carson thought it made sense, and upon reflection, he realized Camille’s words truly had helped him, as it would have been somewhat difficult for him to say it himself.

”Thank you!”

Camille snuggled into Carson’s arms and said with a smile, ”Being your woman isn’t easy. I even have to worry for your official partner...”

Carson said with a laugh, ”Indeed, I wonder what you were thinking.”

Camille pouted, feigning grievance, ”What can I do? I’m not as good as original partner Mary, nor as great as true love Samantha. All I can do is try to please them, seeking a slim chance of survival.”

Carson laughed and pinched her delicate cheek, ”Alright, it’s getting late, let’s sleep.”

Camille rolled on the bed, pushing Carson over, and said with a smile, ”Go hug your Samantha, I’m already happy to have a corner to myself at a time like this.”

Carson felt a bit awkward, ”Is she drunk?”

Camille laughed lightly, ”Perhaps wisdom comes with wine. Be assertive, man, just like you are with me!”

Of course, Carson wouldn’t take advantage of Samantha while she was drunk; but when he woke up, she was curled up in his arms, sleeping peacefully like a kitten, her face even bearing a slight smile.

Carson turned his head and saw Camille smiling at them.

Camille, like a lazy cat, quietly got out of bed, climbed on top of Carson for a morning kiss, then left the room smiling sweetly, leaving space for the two of them.

Carson looked down at Samantha in his arms and suddenly noticed her fair cheeks were inexplicably red.

Realizing she was awake, Carson chuckled and said, ”Awake now?”

Samantha’s cheeks flushed red as she opened her eyes, her gaze bashful but also joyful.

”Mhm.”

Carson casually asked, ”How long have you been awake?”

Samantha pursed her lips, then suddenly clenched her fist, thumped it hard against Carson’s chest, and even rolled her big eyes at him, though the gesture seemed somewhat coquettish.

Carson understood; he felt a little embarrassed.

It seemed she had been awake when Camille and he had their little interaction just now.

Carson quickly changed the subject, ”Are you hungry? Shall we get up for breakfast?”

Samantha lazily turned her back to Carson, nestled against him, and whispered, ”My head is spinning; let me sleep a little longer.”

”Sure!”

Carson held Samantha, a weight of worry lifting from his heart.

From Samantha’s reaction, she didn’t seem to be planning to leave him. So the question arose: was she preparing to confront Shirley Miller, or, as Camille suggested, pretending nothing happened last night, continuing as if she knew nothing, like an ostrich burying its head in the sand?

Lounging in bed until nine o’clock, Samantha finally got up to wash and dress.

Carson went out of the room first and saw Camille leaning on a lounge chair, stretching her long legs, busily on her phone.

When Camille saw Carson come out, she tilted her head and gave a look of feigned sorrow, ”You cuddled with the beauty all through the spring sleep, and I got a tongue-lashing from my dad...”
