Chapter 356: Chapter 356 The Three Sects and Four Clans_1

Carson Flores squinted his eyes slightly and nodded with a smile, ”I guess so, I’ve practiced with my master for a few years.”

The man chuckled with some pride, ”I knew it, my eyes are sharp. So, you’re also going to Hengyue City to watch the show?”

Carson shook his head curiously, ”Watch the show? What show?”

The man looked at Carson in surprise, ”You don’t know about the Southwest meeting that happens every five years?”

Carson shook his head, ”I’ve never heard of it.”

The man stared at Carson, ”Now, many Cultivators are heading to Hengyue City; I thought you were going there to watch the show too. If you’re not going to watch the show, what are you going for?”

Carson replied with a smile, ”Traveling, and incidentally, to visit an elder.”

The man ’Oh’-ed and, lifting his cup, introduced himself, ”I am Trevor Knight from the Hundred Medicine Sect, in charge of the medicinal material business in the southwest area. This time, I’m going over to watch the show and see whether I can expand the business. How should I address you, young brother?”

Carson answered offhandedly, ”Carson Flores, I work at a pharmaceutical factory in Seashore.”

Trevor Knight took out a business card, placed it in front of Carson, and said with a smile, ”It seems we’re in the same line of work, except what you produce is for ordinary people, and I sell to Cultivators. Here’s my card, call me if you need anything.”

”Sure!”

Carson glanced at the business card, which had the logo of the Hundred Medicine Sect, Trevor Knight’s name, phone number, and the title of Southwest Area Manager.

Carson had heard of the Hundred Medicine Sect, a Sect with a long history, mainly engaged in the cultivation and sale of medicinal materials. Their clients were all Cultivator Sects, such as the Innate Sect, the White Willow Sect, and other medical Sects.

”Manager Trevor...”

”Just call me Old Trevor.”

Trevor Knight interrupted Carson, correcting how he should be addressed.

Carson smiled and asked, ”Old Trevor, could you tell me what this Southwest meeting is all about?”

Trevor Knight picked up a braised chicken claw, gnawed on it and replied, ”Simply put, it’s a gathering of Sects from the Southwest region, held once every five years. We have meetings, and each Sect sends representatives to fight and show off their Sect’s strength and heritage. In short, it’s quite a spectacle. Whether or not a Sect has the strength to vie for higher rankings, they usually send people to join in the excitement and maintain a presence.”

Carson understood, ”So Sects from the entire Southwest region will go?”

Trevor Knight explained, ”Pretty much, but the ones who really stand out and have a say at the meeting are the ’Three Sects and Four Families.’ In the end, power in the world of Cultivators still boils down to fists. These seven are all anchored by Innate Grandmasters, so they speak and act with authority...”

Carson smiled, ”I’m not very familiar with this; could you tell me more?”

Trevor Knight was clearly a talkative person. With nothing better to do as he drank, Trevor Knight also began to talk, ”The ’Three Sects and Four Families’ is a collective term for, well, three Sects and four families. The three Sects are the Divine Cloudy Sect from Divine Cloud City, the Luo River Sect from Luo River Mountain, and the Nine Peaks Sect from Nine Peaks Mountain...”

”The four families are the Luo Family from West Kun City, Yun Family from Tianjin City, Rich Family from Mist Mountain City, and Compton Family from Noble Flat City. These three Sects and four families are basically the strongest seven Sects and families in the Southwest region. In the Southwest, almost all matters of the Cultivation world are decided by these seven.”

Carson laughed, ”That’s impressive. So, this gathering is held in Hengyue; does Hengyue have any formidable Sects, like the Yuanyu Sect?”

Trevor Knight smiled, ”The organizer of this meeting is indeed the Yuanyu Sect, but their strength isn’t much to speak of; they don’t even have a Great Grandmaster, let alone an Innate Great Grandmaster. At best, they’re only running errands. Behind the Yuanyu Sect is the Nine Peaks Sect. It’s said that it’s Nine Peaks Sect’s turn to organize this Southwest meeting, and they likely delegated the matter to Yuanyu Sect...”

Carson frowned slightly, as he was planning to trouble Johnny Gross. Now, it seemed Gross had ties with the Nine Peaks Sect.

It looked like he needed to be extra cautious.

Trevor Knight, clearly a Know-It-All regarding the Cultivation world, made the trip enjoyable as they chatted and drank. Carson became interested in this Southwest meeting.

”To attend this meeting, do you need something like an invitation?”

Trevor Knight laughed, ”Do you want to attend? Just come with me. I’ll tell the organizers that you’re my assistant, and that’ll do.”

Carson said, ”Thanks. Hearing you talk about it makes me eager to see it for myself.”

Trevor Knight waved his hand indifferently, ”No need to be polite; it’s no big deal. Actually, you could apply yourself by filling out a form. As long as you prove your Sect affiliation, that could work too, but it’s a bit more troublesome.”

Carson raised his cup to toast Trevor Knight, but his mind was elsewhere, thinking that Seashore fell within the Southwest region. Didn’t that mean that the major families of Seashore would also send people to attend the Southwest meeting?

The Acevedo Family?

The Divine Cloudy Sect?

At the thought of the Divine Cloudy Sect, Carson subconsciously recalled the three women who boarded the train in Divine Cloud City, their demeanor clearly that of Cultivators, and with a not insignificant strength at that. Could it be that all three were from the Divine Cloudy Sect?
