The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 384: Chapter 384 Want to Pull Me into the Group?_1

”It’s your reputation that precedes you. I originally contacted Brayan Rich, who usually handles our business affairs, but when Brock Rich, the Family Head of the Rich Family, found out about this, he wanted to meet you in person.”

As Trevor Knight walked shoulder to shoulder with Carson Flores, he said with a smile, ”You don’t belong to any Sect or clan, and you’ve become a Great Grandmaster at only twenty-seven. Your potential is limitless. Now, many people have their designs on you.”

Carson Flores said with a smile, ”I do have a master. Those Sects, as well as families, surely can’t expect me to join them, can they?”

Trevor Knight responded, ”Having a master is not in conflict with joining a Sect. Talented people who are willing to join can immediately obtain a high position. You are a Great Grandmaster. If you really wanted to join, you’d at least get an elder’s position, one that affords a very high status within the Sect.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”A person used to being untethered, I don’t fancy joining any Sect, not even as an elder. After all, above that there are still the Sect Master or the Innate Grandmasters, right? Wouldn’t I still be under someone’s thumb? That seems rather uninteresting to me.”

Trevor Knight said with a laugh, ”That’s true. Joining a Sect and having a high position is still subject to the Sect’s rules, which is definitely not as free as being on one’s own.”

The two of them chatted idly and walked into a private dining room at the restaurant.

Inside the room, two people were already sitting – Brock Rich, the sixty-something Family Head of the Rich Family, and Brayan Rich who was in his forties. Seeing the two walk in, both men stood up.

”Mr. Flores, hello, I am Brock Rich. Today, Mr. Flores showed such divine might, it left my spirits surging, and I admire your expansive boldness. Therefore, when Brayan mentioned this, I couldn’t help but come uninvited, wanting to meet Mr. Flores in person and become friends,” said Brock Rich.

Carson Flores shook hands with Brock Rich while smiling, ”Mr. Rich is too kind.”

After exchanging pleasantries for a few moments, everyone took their seats. Brock Rich picked up a paper bag from beside him and handed it to Carson Flores, ”Seeing Mr. Flores coughing up blood today, you must have suffered some internal injuries. I have brought some medicine for Mr. Flores as a welcoming gift, please accept it.”

Carson Flores tried to politely refuse, ”Mr. Rich, as the saying goes, ’no merit, no reward.’ Please allow me to decline the gift. Old Hou has already given me a Restorative Elixir, and I have mostly recovered.”

But Brock Rich was insistent, ”The Restorative Elixir is good for treating internal injuries, but such injuries also require good care, otherwise there is a risk of lingering problems. In here are three Restorative Elixirs, which are a bit more effective than what you’ve taken. Additionally, there are also some elixirs that can aid in cultivation.”

”I have come to see Mr. Flores with a request. If Mr. Flores doesn’t accept any welcoming gift, then I am afraid I cannot broach the subject.”

Seeing that Brock Rich spoke with sincerity, Carson Flores felt it would be rude to refuse any further and thus accepted with an outstretched hand.

”Thank you, Mr. Rich. May I know what you need help with?”

Brock Rich replied with a smile, ”Let’s have our meal first, fill our stomachs, and we can talk about the matter later.”

After some toasting and enjoying the meal, under the influence of alcohol, the atmosphere gradually became relaxed and warm.

”How is Rocky Stein of the Divine Cloudy Sect doing now?”

Carson Flores casually replied, ”She’s out of danger for now.”

Chuckling, Brock Rich said, ”Rocky Stein’s personality is arrogant, and as a woman, she can be somewhat petty. You made her kneel in front of everyone, and having lost face, she might seek revenge...”

Carson Flores did not go into detail about Rocky Stein’s condition, merely smiling and responding, ”Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Rich. I will be cautious.”

Brock Rich continued, ”Rocky Stein bullied Mr. Flores because she thought you had no backing. If Mr. Flores had the support of a powerful Sect behind you, even if Rocky Stein is an Innate Grandmaster, she would have to weigh the consequences before laying a finger on you.”

Carson Flores raised an eyebrow. Was Brock Rich really trying to recruit him into his fold?

Carson Flores said with a smile, ”What are you suggesting, Mr. Rich?”

With a warm smile, Brock Rich replied, ”I won’t beat around the bush – indeed, that’s my intention. I hope to invite Carson Flores to join the Rich Family. Rest assured, Mr. Flores, with your strength and exceptional medical skills, the Rich Family will certainly not treat you lightly.”

Without waiting for a response from Carson Flores, Brock Rich continued to lay out the offered benefits, ”If Mr. Flores is willing to join the Rich Family, you would be a senior consultant elder, second only to a few Supreme Elders in the family, and have a status on par with myself, the Family Head.”

”My Rich Family excels at refining various elixirs necessary for cultivation. If Mr. Flores joins my family, all elixirs required for your daily cultivation will be freely supplied by the Rich Family. Any needs Mr. Flores may have will be prioritized and fully satisfied by the family.”

”There’s not much to do within the family on a daily basis, and there would be no constraints on the consultant elder. You would only need to lend a hand to the family in some specific situations.”

Brock Rich spoke energetically, finishing with a hopeful gaze fixed on Carson Flores, ”I acknowledge this request may be abrupt, but I was afraid a diplomatic approach could cause me to miss out on Mr. Flores. If Mr. Flores has no interest in joining any Sect or family, then consider my words unsaid. But if Mr. Flores is interested, please give priority to considering the Rich Family.”

”All that I have mentioned are the basic terms. If Mr. Flores has any requests, please feel free to ask, and we will do our utmost to fulfill them!”
