The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 389: Chapter 389 I Want to Help You, I Want to Become a Great Master_1

Walking on the street, Carson Flores felt cheerful.

His parents should still be alive.

If that woman had wanted to kill his parents, she could have simply not lifted a finger and let them be killed by Shane Fox. Since she had intervened to save his parents and took them away, there was a high probability that they were brought to The Unknown Land.

For twenty-seven years, there had been no word from his parents, probably because of some reason that prevented them from finding him.

His master had lied to him!

He hadn’t been found by his master—instead, his father had given him and the Heaven’s Prophecy jade to him!

For all these years, he had always said he had found him as a child, likely not wanting him to inquire into his origins.

Now that he had come of age and had the ability to protect himself, his master had finally told him about the Heaven’s Prophecy jade and even arranged a marriage for him, helping him to marry a beautiful wife. Perhaps this too was his master’s choice for him, allowing him to decide his own path in life.

To live a quiet life with his beautiful wife, Shirley Miller, or seek out his origins, facing dangers and uncertainties in life and death?

Or was there perhaps the intent of his own parents in all of this?

His investigations along the way had confirmed two things for him.

First, his parents had handed him over to Andrew out of a desperate situation, not to abandon him. They did it out of love for him.

Second, according to Johnny Gross’s description, his parents were both severely injured and at death’s door after facing Shane Fox. But with that woman’s formidable strength, he thought it was likely she had some means to not let his parents die. Hence, the probability that they were alive was very high.

Shane Fox... Gunner Tate... Five Dragon Sect...

Although Carson Flores desperately wanted to go to the Five Dragon Sect right now to seek the truth, he was well aware that if he went to the Five Dragon Sect as he was now, it would be in vain.

Leaving aside the strength of Shane Fox, he was just a tool in Gunner Tate’s hands; the true mastermind behind the scenes was still Gunner Tate.

Gunner Tate was now an Innate Grandmaster and also the Sect Master of the Five Dragon Sect. Facing Gunner Tate meant facing the entire Five Dragon Sect.

From the tone of Shane Fox, he seemed just as eager to kill him, and Gunner Tate probably felt the same.

Therefore, the priority was to increase his own strength, to become an Innate Great Grandmaster as soon as possible. Otherwise, there would be no confidence in facing Gunner Tate.

Carson Flores dialed Samantha Tate’s phone number.

The only two people who knew the secret of his origins were Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate. Unable to contact Shirley Miller, he could only share this news with Samantha Tate.

Samantha’s giggly voice rang out from the receiver, ”What’s gotten into you to call me out of the blue? Missing me?”

Carson Flores felt slightly awkward, realizing that it had indeed mostly been Samantha reaching out to him, and he had not initiated contact with her often.

”Yes, I missed you,” he admitted.

Samantha’s voice softened, ”Your tone is off, what happened?”

Carson Flores was surprised, ”You can tell?”

Samantha hummed in response, ”You’ve encountered something good, haven’t you? Your voice seems... excited?”

Carson Flores admired her silently, thinking to himself how true it was that women are sensitive.

All he had done was make a call and utter one sentence, four words, following Samantha’s lead, and she had still detected that something was off with his emotions...

Carson Flores laughed and said, ”You’re really amazing to have picked up on that, indeed it’s good news.”

Samantha immediately perked up, ”What good news? Come on, tell me!”

Carson Flores spoke excitedly, ”My parents might still be alive.”

”Really?”

Samantha’s voice suddenly rose several octaves, filled with excitement, ”That’s wonderful! Where are they?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”I don’t know yet. Back then after they were injured, they were taken away by a woman and since then there has been no news, but I think they are still alive, it’s just that for some reason they can’t come to find me.”

”That’s such great news!”

Samantha’s voice was filled with joy as she comforted him, ”As long as they are alive, you can be reunited. It’s been twenty-seven years, a little more time won’t matter. Considering the age of your uncle and aunt, they must be just a little over fifty, it’s not a problem!”

Samantha’s delight made Carson Flores feel even more relaxed.

Share the joy, and the joy doubles!

”Where are you planning to go now?” she asked.

Carson Flores laughed, ”I’ll stay around here for a while, then make a trip to Misty Mountain City to help someone with a medical condition.”

Samantha Tate gave an ”Oh,” her tone faintly disappointed, ”I thought you were about to come back.”

Carson Flores said with a chuckle, ”To confront the Five Dragon Sect, I need to find a way to boost my strength, and since that woman was so formidable, I think there may be even bigger troubles waiting for me, I have to improve.”

Samantha sounded somewhat downcast, ”I want to help you, too, but I completely don’t understand cultivation. Brother, do you think there’s a way for a normal person to suddenly become a super grandmaster like you?”

Carson Flores consoled her, ”Perhaps there’s a way. After all, don’t novels and TV shows always have such plots? An ordinary person stumbles upon a fortunate encounter and becomes a super grandmaster overnight, conquering all adversaries...”
