The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 390: Chapter 390: The Victor Becomes King, There’s Nothing to Say About the Vanquished_1

”Thump, thump, thump!”

Carson Flores stood at the door, knocking steadily and unhurriedly.

The door opened, and Lennox Acevedo stood in the doorway, his face dramatically changing as his eyes filled with wariness upon seeing Carson Flores outside.

”Carson Flores, what are you here for?”

Carson Flores smiled faintly, ”I’ve come to ask the old gentleman a question.”

Lennox Acevedo blocked the door, his eyes filled with anger, ”What do you want to ask?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”If I really wanted to do something, do you think you could stop me? Even the people from the Divine Cloudy Sect couldn’t stop me, so do you think you’re tougher than them, or do you think I wouldn’t dare do anything to you?”

The color drained from Lennox Acevedo’s face, he clenched his back teeth tight, hesitated for a moment, but eventually stepped aside.

Because of Carson Flores, the Divine Cloudy Sect had lost face in front of the disciples of the Great Sects, but ultimately, it was the Acevedo Family that had sought help from the Divine Cloudy Sect, leading to the subsequent conflict. Naturally, the Divine Cloudy Sect would hold a grudge against the Acevedo Family, and it would not be so easy for the Acevedo Family to ask for help in the future.

With Nash Acevedo struck down by Carson Flores with a single slap and reduced to a cripple, the Acevedo Family no longer had a Great Grandmaster, and their title as the foremost family of Seashore might soon be transferred to another.

Carson Flores himself was a Great Grandmaster with formidable strength, and he had also gained the support of the Martinez Family, the Johnston Family, and the Fitzgerald Family. If they offended Carson Flores, would the Acevedo Family follow in the footsteps of the Miller Family?

No matter how dissatisfied or angry Lennox Acevedo was with Carson Flores in his heart, he dared not offend Carson Flores.

The one with the bigger fist is the boss!

Nash Acevedo lay reclined in bed, his originally rosy cheeks now pallid, and the taut skin had slackened. In one day, Nash Acevedo seemed to have aged twenty years.

Turning his head to look at Carson Flores, Nash Acevedo’s eyes were filled with complex emotions.

Resentment.

Fear.

He couldn’t fathom how he had lost to this twenty-seven-year-old young man. Had he really wasted the last fifty years of his life?

”What do you want to ask?”

As much as he resented Carson Flores, Nash Acevedo no longer dared to offend him.

Not for his own sake, but for the entire Acevedo Family.

The Innate Grandmaster from the Divine Cloudy Sect had knelt before Carson Flores, so if Carson Flores wanted to destroy the Acevedo Family, wouldn’t it be as easy as saying the word?

Carson Flores stopped in front of Nash Acevedo’s bed and spoke calmly, ”Oscar Miller.”

Nash Acevedo sighed and said with an air of resignation, ”He should have gone to the Reid Family in Xijing.”

Carson Flores frowned slightly, ”Should have?”

Nash Acevedo explained, ”I saved him initially and asked him about his future plans. He said that if he stayed in Seashore, or even in Tianhai Province, he would surely be unable to escape your pursuit in the end, so he wanted to get far away from Tianhai.”

Carson Flores nodded and pressed on, ”Why would he go to the Reid Family in Xijing?”

Nash Acevedo explained, ”He said he had a friend in the Reid Family. I didn’t inquire further, as I originally had no relation to the Miller Family. I only helped that day to repay a favor, and taking Oscar Miller away was also a repayment of a favor. As for harboring the intent to kill you, that started because I had already made a move against you. If you achieved a breakthrough, you would surely take revenge on the Acevedo Family in the future, and we might suffer the fate of the Miller Family...”

After pausing, Nash Acevedo looked at Carson Flores with a tone carrying a hint of pleading, ”The grudge between us is my personal doing, and the rest of the Acevedo Family didn’t take part. If you’re unsatisfied, you can kill me. Please don’t drag down the entire Acevedo Family.”

Lennox Acevedo stood by, his expression filled with sorrow, saying nothing.

The initiative was no longer in the hands of the Acevedo Family.

The lamb lies down before the butcher’s knife.

With the fall of Nash Acevedo, the Acevedo Family’s glory faded, and now they even had to beg Carson Flores not to continue taking revenge on the family.

Thinking back to the time he first met Carson Flores and comparing it to now, a wave of desolation swept through Lennox Acevedo’s heart.

Carson Flores said indifferently, ”In the Martial Battle Arena, we agreed that our grievances would end with that battle. Naturally, I will keep my word and won’t trouble the Acevedo Family.”

Nash Acevedo breathed a sigh of relief, gratitude flickering in his eyes, ”Thank you!”

Carson Flores stared at Nash Acevedo as if trying to see through to his inner thoughts, ”I destroyed your cultivation; you don’t resent me, don’t have thoughts of revenge?”

”To the victor belong the spoils; there is nothing more to say. You are now a Great Grandmaster and could even become an Innate Grandmaster in the future. Even the Divine Cloudy Sect can’t hold you now, let alone me?”

Nash Acevedo said with a bitter laugh, ”I’m already crippled. Even if I found a way to take revenge and harm you, my strength won’t return, and it’s more likely that my revenge will fail, potentially pulling the entire Acevedo Family into the abyss instead. Better to cut the losses now and stop while ahead, at least the Acevedo Family remains.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”That’s a good mindset. Keep it.”

Carson Flores turned and left the sickroom, pulling out his phone.

”Bat, where are you now?”

The answer from Bat was always straightforward, ”Xijing, Big Bro, just say the word.”

”Help me look up someone, Oscar Miller from the Seashore Miller Family. Can you check if he’s at the Reid Family in Xijing and what his current situation is?”

Bat replied, ”Got it, I’ll handle this personally. After I find out, do I need to take action?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”No need, just confirm his situation. I might be going to Xijing after some time.”
