The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 299: Chapter 299 Mr. Miller, welcome back... Returning to One’s Roots_1

Beckham Miller couldn’t dodge.

Caught off guard just now by the young woman’s surprise attack, he relied on instinct and experience to evade the lethal blow, but that punch had also shattered his line of defense.

The young man’s attack was timed to perfection, slicing in right when Beckham Miller’s old strength had just waned and his new strength hadn’t yet emerged, striking him down.

These two successive waves of assault were seamlessly connected, without the slightest gap!

Beckham Miller had no choice but to circulate his Protective Gang Qi in his chest, bracing himself for the punch, while inwardly hoping that his opponent was weaker in strength.

As long as the other party was not a Grandmaster, his Protective Gang Qi would be able to withstand the hit. As long as he could catch his breath, even if injured, killing both assailants would be no problem at all!

”Bang!”

Beckham Miller felt as if his chest had been repeatedly hit by a cannonball, his Protective Gang Qi instantly shattered, the ferocious and domineering Gang Qi invading his body like a blade, the immense force crazily crushing his breastbone.

”Crack!”

The breastbone reached its limit and then fractured.

Beckham Miller’s vision went dark, a mouthful of fresh blood sprayed toward the young man in front of him, while his fingers, formed like a sword, stabbed towards the man’s throat.

The young man sidestepped, evading the powerful spurt of blood and also dodging the sword-like fingers.

Beckham Miller repelled the man, and just as he tried to roll sideways out of the way, the young woman behind him had already taken a step forward and launched another punch directly at him.

Beckham Miller crossed his arms, blocking this punch.

”Boom!”

His back slammed hard against the car once more, the car body instantly dented inwards, and as his body sank into the dented car door, he spat out another mouthful of blood.

The woman stepped aside, and the young man approached once more, a punch thundering down.

”Spurt!”

Beckham Miller’s arms were still up in front of him, but they no longer had the strength to block, and with a snap, they were broken by the man’s punch, the relentless force continuing to pound his chest.

The broken bones, under the immense pressure, stabbed back into his organs.

Heaps of fresh blood gushed from Beckham Miller’s mouth, feeling like a nail being hammered repeatedly, ultimately being smashed ruthlessly into the Abyss.

The young man and woman both ceased their attacks, while Dior Butler was scared stiff nearby.

By this point, even a fool would know that these young assailants’ target was Beckham Miller.

They had deliberately caused the car accident and fabricated accusations, assaulting him just to lure Beckham Miller out of the car, and then they struck unawares, aiming for a lethal hit!

”Who are you!”

The young man glanced at Dior Butler, then turned his head back to stare at Beckham Miller, giving a slight smile as he peeled off the fake beard on his face: ”Mr. Miller’s covert operative, a Grandmaster assassin, Beckham Miller, do you recognize me?”

Beckham Miller stared intently at the youth in front of him—he recognized him at a glance. Wasn’t this young man Carson Flores, the very target of the family assassination he had accepted this time?

Then, the woman beside him must undoubtedly be the female Grandmaster who had appeared with Carson Flores before!

”Carson Flores!”

Beckham Miller knew he was doomed and asked resentfully, ”How did you... know about... my flight back?”

Carson Flores smiled and replied, ”Of course, someone told me. Not everyone in the Miller Family was happy about your return.”

Beckham Miller’s eyes widened, his gaze filled with anger and a touch of realization.

”I heard you were doing quite well abroad, so why bother coming back?”

Carson Flores said indifferently, ”Mr. Miller, welcome back... to where the leaves fall back to their roots!”

As Carson Flores uttered the last word, his fingers formed into a sword and struck directly at Beckham Miller’s throat.

Beckham Miller’s body struggled violently for a moment, then went limp, collapsing into the caved-in portion of the car, as if wrapped in steel.

Carson Flores turned to look at Dior Butler, who shuddered with fright and turned to run: ”It’s not my fault, I’m just the driver...”

Carson Flores didn’t chase after Dior Butler; he never intended to kill him in the first place.

”Pass my regards to the Family Head of the Miller Family; they surprised me quite a bit with their generous gift before. Now I’m returning a gift to the Miller Family, and I hope they’ll like it!”

Carson Flores and Lydia Howell got into the car and drove away.

Dior Butler let out a sigh of relief, quickly ran to Beckham Miller’s side, checked his neck, and his face revealed a look of despair.

Dead, just like that?

Dior Butler pulled out his phone and dialed Family Head Knox Miller’s number.

”Did you get the man to the hotel?”

With a trembling voice, Dior Butler said, ”Mr. Miller is dead.”

Knox Miller’s voice suddenly rose an octave, filled with disbelief: ”What? Dead, who is dead?”

Dior Butler swallowed hard: ”Mr. Beckham Miller. I picked him up from the airport. On the way, someone deliberately rear-ended us. I got out to check, got assaulted, Mr. Miller got out to help me and was ambushed, got beaten to death...”

There was silence on the other end from Knox Miller for a few seconds, as if digesting the news, before finally asking, ”Who did it?”

”Carson Flores and a young woman.”

Knox Miller, grinding his teeth in rage, asked, ”How did Carson Flores know about Little Nine’s return today?”

Dior Butler answered tentatively, ”Mr. Miller asked the same question before he died. Carson Flores said someone else told him, and he mentioned not all in the Miller Family were welcoming him back. He also told me to tell the Family Head that he was quite surprised by the grand gift the Miller Family sent him some time ago, and this was his return gift, hoping the Miller Family would like it...”
