The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 270: Chapter 270 Are You Trying to Infuriate Me?_1

”Of course, why not accept it?”

Carson Flores said without hesitation, ”We’re about to stop production due to lack of raw materials, aren’t we? We’re paying for it, after all. As for the favor owed, I’ll find an opportunity to repay it later.”

Shirley Miller went silent for two seconds, ”Favors are hard to repay. What if she asks you to do something you’re unwilling to do?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”If I’m unwilling to do it, then I’ll repay the favor with something else. She’s the one eagerly offering the favor, not me asking for it. It’s naturally not up to her to decide how I repay it. Even if she doesn’t help, Kylan Martinez could solve the issue just the same. So, you see, I’ll remember the favor, but it’s really not that big of a deal.”

Shirley Miller hummed, ”Is it possible that she has taken a liking to you?”

Carson Flores’s heartbeat suddenly quickened, ”Surely not. She knows I’m married, and she even knows my wife is you. After all, she’s the young lady of the Rhodes family. It’s unlikely she’d fall for a married man like me, right?”

Shirley Miller laughed softly, ”It’s just a feeling. After all, you’re so capable. Miss Rhodes is quite lovely, genuinely feminine, and comes from a good family. If you like her, you could actually consider it. After all, three months will pass quickly.”

Carson Flores raised an eyebrow. What did Shirley Miller mean by this?

Pushing him away?

Or was it a test?

Carson Flores chuckled, ”I don’t have such thoughts. To be honest, I’ve grown accustomed to being a free spirit, and up to this point, I haven’t thought of settling down completely. Besides, I’m a bit too untamable. I might be amusing in some ways, but there are also many things about me that irritate others. I’m not as in demand as you think.”

Shirley Miller laughed, ”I’m just giving you a heads up. If you miss out on something later, don’t blame me for holding you back and not giving you the chance.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Are you that eager to push me away? Haven’t you considered staying yourself? Actually, I’m not that bad of a person.”

Shirley Miller snorted, ”Didn’t you just say it yourself? You haven’t thought of settling down and still want to wander. How could I hold on to you? If it ever came down to it, facing temptations out there, you wouldn’t be able to resist, and then you’d blame me, wouldn’t you?”

Carson Flores didn’t know how to continue the conversation for a moment, so he changed the subject, ”I’ll give her a call to see what’s going on and let you know afterward. We need to ensure the company’s production after all.”

Shirley Miller also seemed unsure how to continue the conversation, especially since it might lead to sensitive topics.

”Okay, I’ll wait for your message.”

After hanging up the call, Carson Flores pondered their conversation, his mood turning somewhat subtle.

Women are like needles at the bottom of the ocean, unfathomable.

Carson Flores dialed Camille Rhodes’s number.

”Hello?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I just got a call from my wife. Did you go to the factory?”

Camille Rhodes replied cheerily, ”Where are you right now?”

Carson Flores answered, ”Outside, helping someone with medical treatment.”

Camille Rhodes giggled, ”You, a man without a license, you still get such good business? One patient after another?”

Carson Flores laughed in response, ”It’s all thanks to friends helping out, letting me earn a bit of meal money. Tell me, what’s the big idea? Going to find my wife and even becoming friends with her?”

Camille Rhodes sighed, ”I never knew what a good man you are. You even voluntarily told your wife about the incident outside the bar, where you kissed and touched me. It almost left me speechless at the time. I thought she knew everything. You’re so candid, why didn’t you tell her the whole story?”

Carson Flores replied matter-of-factly, ”I’m not stupid. Why would I hang myself?”

Camille Rhodes laughed, ”No wonder you weren’t afraid of me going to find your wife. You had already confessed to her and gotten ahead of the issue.”

Carson Flores sighed, ”Plans can’t keep up with changes.”

Camille Rhodes chuckled, ”Don’t worry, I’ll keep my promise and won’t tell your wife about us sleeping together. I’m not interested in taking your wife’s place. Men, the more you see them from morning till night, even the most beautiful women can become tiresome when there’s no more mystery. I’m not planning on getting married so young to then dutifully tend to my husband and children at home.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”That reassures me. I was scared you were going to challenge my wife to a duel or something.”

Camille Rhodes laughed heartily, ”Keep dreaming. Actually, I just wanted to help you out and use this as an opportunity to get a closer look at what kind of person your wife really is. I’ll have someone bring the contract over later. Once you sign it and make the payment, the raw materials will be delivered to your factory, same price as before. I’m not taking any kickbacks, you know.”

Carson Flores sighed, ”You could’ve taken a little kickback, charged a bit extra. You’re being so altruistic it’s making my wife uneasy.”

”I refuse, haha!”

Camille Rhodes said triumphantly, ”Even if you’re complained about and have to face the consequences, I’ll be happy to see it. Remember, you owe me a favor.”

Carson Flores huffed, ”I already asked someone for help, and when they called, they were told that you had intercepted the raw materials. You made me waste a favor.”

Camille Rhodes was taken aback, ”You asked who for help?”

Carson Flores replied offhandedly, ”Kylan Martinez! I’m at the Martinez Family’s place right now.”

Upon hearing this, Camille Rhodes’s voice suddenly rose eight octaves, ”Oh my gosh! Instead of asking me, you went to Kylie Martinez and Kylan Martinez? Are you trying to kill me with annoyance?”
