The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 288: Chapter 288 Greetings from an Old Friend_1

”Mr. Flores... Mr. Flores! Is that you?”

Tucker Tyler’s voice was filled with unease and disquiet, along with an unmistakable hint of panic he couldn’t quite hide.

He hoped he was mistaken, that he had seen wrong, heard wrong.

”Seems like you haven’t forgotten me, huh? Come over and let’s chat?”

Any lingering hope in Tucker Tyler’s heart shattered as his gaze flickered with panic, and then he scurried over to Carson Flores, bending at the waist and already painting a subservient smile on his face.

”Mr. Flores, when did you arrive in Seashore? It’s such a coincidence to see you here...”

Carson Flores watched the familiar obsequious smile on Tucker Tyler’s face and couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Tucker Tyler, you’ve somehow made it into the Miller Family now, even becoming the assistant to a core member. Shouldn’t you be a bit more arrogant?”

As Tucker Tyler approached Carson Flores, he said with a fawning smile, ”Mr. Flores, what are you saying? I owe my life to you for sparing me time and again, how dare I act arrogant towards you?”

Carson Flores pointed at Anthony Roth, who was passed out in a pile of bricks, having been knocked out, ”If I were the one beaten down there, you probably wouldn’t be acting like this towards me, right? You might even tell him to finish me off immediately...”

Tucker Tyler’s face turned anxious, and he held up three fingers, ”Mr. Flores, please don’t wrong me. If I really thought that way, may lightning strike me down! When I caused trouble for you before and you let me off, I was spared several times later. I know gratitude.”

After a pause, Tucker Tyler added softly, ”I inquired afterwards. I know about what happened to Mr. James, the Woolery Family, and the Howell Family. Perhaps because I am a small fry, you didn’t hold it against me, but I am genuinely grateful. Besides, without that experience, how could I have reached my current status?”

Carson Flores was slightly surprised. Could this guy truly hold no grudges against him, speaking with such sincerity...

”I’m curious, when you first fled here to Seashore, it must have been to seek refuge, right? How did you suddenly become the assistant to a real estate company’s chairman?”

Tucker Tyler rubbed his hands awkwardly and leaned in closer, explaining in a low voice, ”A female classmate from my university days, who is close to me, is now Ms. Miller’s mistress. When I came here seeking refuge, I turned to this classmate for help. She knew that I had always worked as an assistant for others. Coincidentally, Ms. Miller’s former assistant had been dismissed for embezzlement, and my classmate recommended me. Ms. Miller assessed me and was quite satisfied, so she decided to let me take on the role temporarily. I’m still under evaluation.”

Carson Flores said, laughing in astonishment, ”Not bad at all, working as an assistant for Black Bamboo’s junior boss and now for Abraham Miller, is quite a leap in status.”

Tucker Tyler explained quietly, ”It’s mostly luck. Most of the situations I handled for Black Bamboo were shady and couldn’t be brought to light, while Ms. Miller required someone skilled in those areas. So after she tested me on a few issues and I handled them well, she took me on board.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Impressive, you’ve really climbed up the ladder.”

Tucker Tyler replied with a smile, ”I’m just a worker for others, really. At best, the salary is better and it sounds good mentioning it, but my nature is still the same.”

Carson Flores patted Tucker Tyler on the shoulder, ”I’m not sure whether to say you have good fortune or bad luck. Out of the Eight Great Families in Seashore, you had to choose the Miller Family...”

Tucker Tyler’s heart tightened, and he cautiously asked, ”Mr. Flores, do you have a feud with the Miller Family?”

Carson Flores answered, ”Black Bamboo is backed by Brian James, but do you know who’s behind Brian James?”

Tucker Tyler’s eyes widened, ”The Miller Family?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”The heir of the Miller Family, Oscar Miller, directed Brian James to oppose River Miller of the Miller Group, Shirley Miller. Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate are cousins, and I’m Samantha Tate’s boyfriend. Brian James, the Woolery Family, and the Howell Family were all manipulated by Oscar Miller. He got away last time, so I couldn’t kill him. Now, naturally, I have no choice but to come to Seashore and settle the score.”

Tucker Tyler was dumbfounded, finally unraveling the mystery of why Carson Flores had been conflicting with so many forces from Polgel!

Young Master Miller!

So behind it all, it was Oscar Miller pulling the strings, and Carson Flores’s struggle had always been against him. He had simply cut down Oscar Miller’s outstretched arms time and again, and he had even come close to killing Oscar Miller.

Suddenly, Tucker Tyler felt a dryness in his throat, ”Mr. Flores, I’m just a small-time player, why are you telling me all this?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Isn’t it a twist of fate that we’re talking like this? Just clearing the air, so you don’t unwittingly become cannon fodder.”

Tucker Tyler’s feelings were mixed, ”Mr. Flores, is it truly a fight to the death with the Miller Family?”

Carson Flores smiled and nodded, ”They tried to kill me, so naturally, I have to try to kill them in return. However, my fight with the Miller Family has nothing to do with you. If the Miller Family wins, it won’t affect you, but if the Miller Family loses, all their assets will be divvied up, they will exit the world of Cultivators, and Abraham Miller’s position as the boss will be shaky. As his assistant, you’ll inevitably be impacted...”

Clenching his teeth, Tucker Tyler spoke in a low voice, ”Mr. Flores, are you asking me to do something?”

Carson Flores chuckled, patting Tucker Tyler on the shoulder, ”I don’t need you to do anything for me. You said you were grateful to me, so consider this a heads-up, just a greeting from an old friend.”
