The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 286: Chapter 286: Tucker Tyler, Doing So Well?_1

The strike was fierce and unrestrained.

An ordinary person would instinctively raise their arm to block, which would be promptly broken – in fact, the purpose of the swing was to break Carson Flores’s arm.

If he hadn’t blocked, it would have been a bloodied head, sending him straight to the hospital.

Carson effortlessly reached out and grabbed the descending steel pipe.

Once in Carson’s hand, the steel pipe became immovable. The leader’s face changed as he tried to pull it back, but it seemed as if it was welded in place, not budging an inch.

With a casual pull from Carson, the man couldn’t hold onto the steel pipe and had to let go, leaving it now firmly in Carson’s grasp.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Carson swung it toward the forehead of a man who was charging forward. Caught off guard, the man was startled, stumbled backward, lost his footing, and sat down hard on the ground, his ferocity instantly deflated.

The leader stared at Carson, standing imposingly before him, ”Brother, you don’t seem to be from around here?”

Carson chuckled, gave a casual flick, and the steel pipe flew out, embedding itself into a nearby brick wall with a crack, showering debris and leaving a gaping hole.

”We should negotiate properly, not resort to violence. Can the elders withstand such rough treatment?”

The leader glanced at the steel pipe halfway into the wall, swallowed hard, and knew if it came to violence, his group wouldn’t stand a chance against him. He softened his tone and said, ”Brother, we’re just doing a job for the money. What do you want? Just say the word.”

Carson smiled and said, ”I don’t have any demands. You should negotiate as you were supposed to, just keep the hands to yourself. I don’t want to visit my friends in the hospital.”

The leader breathed a sigh of relief – good, they just couldn’t hit anyone.

”Alright, I’ll talk to the higher-ups.”

The leader moved aside and made a phone call, while the noisy crowd suddenly quieted down.

Augustus Vasquez approached Carson with gratitude, ”Thank you, Brother Flores. Without you, many of us might have ended up in the hospital...”

Carson chuckled, ”They never intended to negotiate with you. Today’s setup was meant to put the most troublesome ones in the hospital, scare the rest, and naturally get them to sign.”

Augustus Vasquez said angrily, ”That’s inhumane, preying on people without spitting out the bones. Brother Flores, what should we do now?”

Carson replied with a smile, ”We wait. If they can’t figure it out, they’ll send someone down – either someone tougher or with more lenient conditions. If they resort to violence, I can hold them off for you today. Negotiations are yours to handle. I won’t get involved, and don’t ask for my opinion.”

The compensation matter, after all, involved too many interests, and since ’hearts are separated by bellies’, Carson would protect them today from getting beaten for Augustus Vasquez’s sake, but he wouldn’t help with anything else.

”Thank you, Brother Flores!”

Augustus Vasquez returned to continue the negotiations, while Carson sat alone to one side, calmly smoking.

A black Mercedes approached from the night, and two people got out: a middle-aged man with a steady gait and a young man in glasses carrying a briefcase.

Carson looked at the two men, and his expression immediately stiffened.

Tucker Tyler.

The young man with the briefcase was actually the assistant to the boss of the Black Bamboo Corporation in Polgel, who later, because of Carson’s words, broke the legs of a young member of the Browning Family and was forced to flee to Seashore – Tucker Tyler!

The fellow had some skills.

He had obviously done well for himself in a new place.

The leader from before greeted the two men, spoke to them for a while, and then pointed towards Carson, sitting in the intermingling shadows.

Tucker Tyler exchanged a few words with the man by his side, and then they both walked over.

Stopping about three meters in front of Carson, Tucker Tyler spoke clearly, ”Brother, I am the assistant to the chairman of High Energy Real Estate, Tucker Tyler. If you have any demands, let me know.”

The assistant to the chairman?

Not bad, this kid.

Carson internally chuckled but casually responded, ”I simply couldn’t stand the sight of you hitting people. I have no demands; this doesn’t involve me. Talk directly to them.”

Under the dark sky, Tucker Tyler couldn’t make out Carson’s face. Though the voice sounded somewhat familiar, he didn’t dwell on it, nodded and said, ”Okay, then I’ll talk to them first.”

Tucker Tyler went back to talk with Augustus Vasquez and the other representatives, while the man that came with him approached Carson.

”Friend, where are you from?”

Carson smiled, ”Nowhere in particular. Augustus Vasquez is my colleague. I stepped in because I saw your guys beating people. I’m not involved in the negotiation; just don’t hit people, and it’s fine.”

The middle-aged man spoke gravely, ”You are a Cultivator, so you must have heard of the Eight Great Cultivating Families in Seashore, also known as the Eight Great Families?”

Carson nodded, ”I’ve heard of them. What about it, does this matter involve the Eight Great Families?”

The middle-aged man spoke coldly, ”High Energy Real Estate is owned by the Miller Family, and the chairman, Abraham Miller, is one of the core figures of the family. I advise you not to meddle.”

Carson’s eyes lit up, immediately intrigued, ”The Miller Family?”
