The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 293: Chapter 293: The Miller Family Grandmaster, Nothing Special!_1

”Bang!”

Two bursts of Gang Qi collided almost at the same instant, sending Carson Flores and Lydia Howell flying backwards at the same time.

Carson’s body slammed into the ground, and with a roll, he braced himself with both hands, quickly flipping back to his feet.

”Let’s go!”

Carson uttered a crisp, decisive shout, launching into a sprint towards the outside, with Lydia swiftly following him. Their speed was incredibly fast, and in the blink of an eye, they had covered a great distance.

”Miller Family Grandmaster, you’re not so tough after all!”

Carson’s arrogant voice suddenly filled the air, accompanied by his middle finger gesturing defiantly behind him.

A Grandmaster bellowed, ”Chase them!”

But the Miller Family Ancestor didn’t move, frowning as he said, ”No need to chase.”

The Grandmaster halted in his tracks, ”Why not?”

The Miller Family Ancestor sighed, ”A few hundred meters away is the night market; do you really want us to attempt to assassinate him in front of a crowd? Once he enters the crowd, how can we fight?”

Oscar Miller stepped out from the shadows, his expression dark, ”Great-grandfather, was the person who saved Carson also a Grandmaster?”

The elder who had traded blows with Lydia said gravely, ”Indeed a Grandmaster, slightly less skilled than me, and it was a woman.”

”A woman?”

Oscar furrowed his brow, ”Isn’t Carson all alone? Where did a female Grandmaster come from all of a sudden?”

The Miller Family Ancestor spoke evenly, ”Let’s head back. The opponent was extremely cautious and careful just now, clearly always on guard against us. Besides, he’s strong, able to withstand my attacks without faltering. Three against one, he had no chance today, but three against two, while defeating them might be easy, stopping them from fleeing a few hundred meters is virtually impossible.”

Oscar spoke unwillingly, ”So we’re just going to let it be? What if he seeks revenge?”

The Miller Family Ancestor responded calmly, ”Doesn’t he have people he cares about too? If you just keep a close watch on those he values, he won’t act rashly. After all, he’s not the unattached Andrew. For now, stay at home, don’t roam around, and don’t give the enemy an opening.”

Oscar agreed respectfully, ”I haven’t left the house much lately, safety isn’t an issue. It’s just that we’ve startled the snake by beating the grass today; catching him again won’t be easy.”

The Miller Family Ancestor grunted, ”Isn’t he working here? As long as he’s around, it’s fine. Make a call and tell Little Nine to come back. We’re good at fighting, but when it comes to killing, he’s far better than us.”

Oscar’s eyes lit up, ”Then, for the mistake Uncle Nine made before...”

The Miller Family Ancestor said flatly, ”To redeem himself through meritorious service. If he deals with this trouble from Carson, let bygones be bygones regarding his past offenses. After all, he has suffered his punishment for long enough.”

Oscar replied with surprise, ”Okay, I’ll contact Uncle Nine later.”

Looking back towards the alleyway, Oscar’s gaze held a trace of reluctance.

Such a golden opportunity, and Carson had actually managed to escape!

But with Uncle Nine coming back, Carson’s fate might be even worse. After all, Uncle Nine’s hobbies are somewhat special, and not something the average person could endure.

Imagining Carson falling into Uncle Nine’s hands and living a fate worse than death, Oscar felt a strange excitement rising within him.

...

Carson and Lydia fled out of the alleyway, and ahead of them was the brightly lit, bustling night market.

Carson looked back, then stopped in his tracks, wiped a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth, and smiled, ”Okay, no need to run anymore, they won’t chase us here.”

Lydia removed her helmet, shaking her hair loose, ”The Miller Family?”

Carson nodded, ”Yes, three Grandmasters came at once. If it wasn’t for you today, I’d have had to fight for my life. Even if I could escape, it wouldn’t have been as easy as now.”

Lydia reached out to pat off the dust on Carson, ”Are you hurt?”

Carson nodded again, ”Hmm, I’ve suffered some internal injuries, but it’s not serious.”

Lydia asked, ”Is there anything I can do?”

Carson shook his head, ”No need, you can go back and rest. Your motorcycle is wrecked, I’ll get you a new one. What model would you like?”

Lydia laughed, ”No need, it was just a motorcycle.”

Carson insisted, ”That’s separate, I have to give you the motorcycle.”

Lydia stared at Carson with a helpless expression, ”Are we really that distant with each other?”

Carson found himself at a loss for words and could only say, ”It’s not about being distant, friends should also have their principles, right? If it wasn’t for your incredible motorcycle skills, keeping two Grandmasters at bay in an instant, allowing me to break away from that old man, it would not have been so easy for us to escape, even with your help.”

Seeing Carson so insistent, Lydia relented, ”Ok, I’ll send you the model later.”

Carson breathed a sigh of relief, ”Great!”

Lydia turned to leave, and Carson called after her, ”They might investigate your identity, be careful in your daily life, and don’t give others a chance to strike.”

Lydia turned back, looked at Carson earnestly, and smiled lightly, ”Sure!”

After Lydia left, Carson examined the scrapes and wounds on his body and walked into a pharmacy. He bought some medical supplies and then carried them back to the hotel.

Just as he reached his room, Shirley Miller’s door opened, and she, dressed in a robe, peered out. Seeing Carson’s dirty and injured appearance, her complexion instantly turned pale.

”What happened to you?”
