The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 272: Chapter 272: If He Hadn’t Run Fast, He Would Have Been Wiped Out Then and There!_1

”This is my brother, Preston Rhodes,”

”Bro, this is Carson Flores, my friend.”

Preston Rhodes had a lean figure and a refined temperament, seemingly a delicate scholar, but Carson Flores could tell from his every move that this man was not only a Cultivator but also a skilled one at that.

Moreover, Cultivators without exceptional talent would not become the heirs of their families.

Cultivation was the foundation of the family!

Preston Rhodes smiled and shook hands with Carson Flores, showing a humble attitude; however, Carson Flores could feel a clear, hidden scrutiny in his eyes.

This scrutiny was not the wariness towards a stranger but the cautious and protective examination of a brother towards a close male friend of his sister.

Carson Flores kept a natural expression, letting the other assess him.

If Carson Flores hadn’t slept with Camille Rhodes, he would’ve probably said directly, ”No need to worry about me, I’m married and have a wife,” but now, even if the other party knew about his situation, Carson Flores still lacked the confidence to say those words.

In case Preston Rhodes retorted with ”You have a wife and still get close with my sister like this,” Carson Flores didn’t know how to reply.

The three of them sat down, and as the food and drinks were served, Carson Flores picked up his glass and smiled, ”Mr. Rhodes, I’m sorry for the trouble with the pharmaceutical factory’s raw materials before.”

Preston Rhodes smiled and said, ”Mr. Flores, you’re too polite. It was a small effort. Camille mentioned it, and as her brother, I naturally wanted to fulfill her wishes, right?”

With those words, Preston Rhodes responded to Carson Flores but also made it clear to him that he offered help because of his sister, and it had nothing to do with Carson Flores himself.

Carson Flores didn’t mind. He had expressed gratitude as a courtesy, but whether or not others cared was their prerogative.

After some small talk and a bit of eating, Preston Rhodes got to the point, ”Camille mentioned you wanted to speak with me about something?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Before we get into that, I’d like to ask, what is the Rhodes Family’s stance towards the Miller Family?”

Though Carson Flores had already asked Camille Rhodes about this, she was a woman who didn’t deal with family affairs, and Preston Rhodes, as the family heir, naturally had more comprehensive and accurate information, also understanding some of the subtleties beneath the surface better.

Preston Rhodes stared intently at Carson Flores, ”Are you planning to deal with the Miller Family?”

Having heard from Camille Rhodes that Carson Flores was a highly skilled Cultivator and racing expert, and that he seemed to have quite the medical skill; understanding that he had been targeted by the Miller Family, wanting retribution seemed reasonable.

Carson Flores just smiled without answering, continuing to gaze at Preston Rhodes, waiting for his response.

After a two-second silence, Preston Rhodes smiled, ”I know you and Camille are close, but our Rhodes Family has no grievances with the Miller Family. We could help with minor favors, but we won’t engage in outright confrontational actions. There’s no need to invite trouble.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Even with the premise that the Miller Family is certain to be wiped out, the Rhodes Family still won’t intervene, is that correct?”

Preston Rhodes and Camille Rhodes both widened their eyes in shock, staring at Carson Flores.

The Miller Family, wiped out?

Just for intercepting some raw materials, such a minor business move warranted annihilating the Miller Family?

Did you think the Miller Family was a cabbage that could be uprooted at will?

Camille Rhodes asked in surprise, ”As a deeply rooted Cultivator family, the Miller Family cannot simply be destroyed by defeating or killing a person, and if we made a move, their counterattack would be extremely powerful. Besides, just because of a single business incident, it’s not worth it, right?”

Carson Flores calmly responded, ”My conflict with the Miller Family isn’t just about this raw material interception. Before this, Oscar Miller came to Polgel and repeatedly endangered our lives. My feud with the Miller Family is inexorable; this business matter was also probably a probing action by the Miller Family after my phone call with Knox Miller.”

Realization dawned in Preston Rhodes’ eyes, ”Shirley Miller is part of the Miller Family, which ties into their previous internal strife. Are you helping your wife?”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, ”Yes, I want to help her get revenge and incidentally take back everything that belongs to her.”

Carson Flores did not mention his own issues with his background; this was a secret he would keep from everyone except for Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate.

Better to let people think he was helping Shirley Miller than to complicate matters further.

Preston Rhodes frowned, ”Shirley Miller is still part of the Miller Family, after all. How do you intend to conclude matters after dealing with the Miller Family like this?”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, ”When the Miller Family is expunged from the ranks of the Cultivator families, and those who should have paid the price have done so, Shirley Miller will return to the Miller Family, taking control of what she should have and providing the necessary protection. I think the remaining members of the Miller Family will accept that. After all, people must continue to live, right?”

Preston Rhodes smiled, ”If the Miller Family does fail, then all of this would indeed follow logically. However, the Miller Family is not so easy to deal with. My Rhodes Family has no quarrels with them, and there’s no need for us to muddy the waters. Mr. Flores, I’m afraid I can’t help you with this matter.”

Carson Flores chuckled and raised his glass, ”Alright, let’s drink then, and consider I never mentioned this.”

Preston Rhodes looked at Carson Flores, who showed no sign of disappointment, and chuckled, ”Seeing Mr. Flores so certain, it seems you have full confidence.”

Since the Rhodes Family didn’t want to intervene, Carson Flores naturally wouldn’t disclose the situations of other families, so as not to stir up gossip.

”The Miller Family is indeed deeply entrenched, but they’re not as difficult to deal with as you might think. In Polgel, I killed Oscar Miller’s personal bodyguard, Wesley Roth. If Oscar Miller hadn’t run away quickly, I would have taken him down too. And look, I’m still living well,”
