The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 259: Chapter 259 The Reward Men Can’t Refuse_1

On the riverbank, the car finally settled down, no longer swaying.

”How is it, are you satisfied with the reward?”

Camille Rhodes’s voice was soft and glutinous, with a hint of enticing charm. She lay in Carson Flores’s arms, like a lazy Persian cat.

Carson Flores chuckled softly, ”No man could refuse such a reward, full marks.”

Camille Rhodes giggled lowly, ”I always hear those women talk about how it is outdoors, how it is in a car. Now that I’ve experienced it myself, I won’t let them show off in front of me.”

Carson Flores felt somewhat complicated.

Men, when faced with a woman’s temptation, usually think less. But during the sage time, rationality returns, and they start to contemplate the consequences of not resisting the temptation or acting on impulse.

Carson Flores was a man, and he was no exception.

With a stunning beauty like Camille Rhodes, who had control over your lifeline, which man could stay calm and think, who could calmly refuse?

Even Carson Flores, at that moment, would subconsciously find reasons for himself, thinking it’s not the first time, what difference would one more or one less make.

However, now that he had calmed down and thought it over, the difference was substantial.

The first time he and Camille Rhodes had been together, it was because she had drugged him. But after that night, their relationship, in theory, should have ended there, as an unavoidable mistake—at least as far as Carson Flores was concerned, he shouldn’t have had any deeper contact with Camille Rhodes.

Carson Flores had tried to do just that, defining Camille Rhodes as a friend and even making up his mind that if she didn’t contact him, he wouldn’t reach out to her either.

But today, under the spell of Camille Rhodes’s wonderful reward, Carson Flores had succumbed once again.

The two of them, fully conscious this time, had connected once more, even more emotionally charged than the first time. Now, there was no excuse.

The first time could be blamed on the drug, but what about this time?

What was his relationship with Camille Rhodes now?

Knowing full well he had a wife, Camille Rhodes still actively entangled herself with him—what was she thinking?

”Don’t overthink it.”

Seeing Carson Flores’s silent distraction, Camille Rhodes smiled lightly, ”For now, I just think you’re a good person, and very capable. I like you so much that I voluntarily offer this—it doesn’t mean I want something more. It’s consensual, we’re both happy, nobody loses out, and I’m not asking you to take responsibility. So, put away your male chauvinism.”

Carson Flores looked down at Camille Rhodes and laughed, ”So what are we, friends with benefits?”

Camille Rhodes huffed, ”If that’s how you want to think of it, it’s not wrong. It describes us quite accurately. I haven’t made up my mind yet, and I’m not sure what I want or what I want to do. So, as long as we’re happy, that’s good. Maybe my interest in you will only last three days, and then you won’t even be able to touch a finger of mine.”

Hearing Camille Rhodes speak like this, Carson Flores felt somewhat relieved.

Indeed, as Camille Rhodes had said, he had a bit of chauvinism. A woman had been with him, more than once, and he felt the need to give a man’s word to this relationship. But now, Camille Rhodes told him that gender equality and mutual consent meant there was no need for promises.

”Okay.”

Carson Flores said no more. He’d had his share of women in the past, and weren’t they all just flings?

Waking up later, you go your way, I go mine, we forget each other in the world.

Carson Flores wouldn’t dwell on it either. Camille Rhodes might not seem like Kylie Martinez, who was clearly a player, but as she said, the fancies of a rich young lady—who knows how long they last?

Under his circumstances, he couldn’t possibly marry her, and her family might not even approve of him, so he might as well go with the flow.

After resting for a while, Carson Flores laughed, ”Shall we go back?”

”Yeah, you drive. I have no strength left.”

”Okay!”

Once they were ready, Carson Flores drove back to the city. This time, not returning to the Black Fist Arena but instead following the directions to Camille Rhodes’s home.

Camille Rhodes lived in a spacious apartment within the Riverside View Community, which seemed rather empty.

”It’s so large, just for you alone?”

Camille Rhodes hummed an affirmation, ”Do you want to take a shower? You reek.”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”No need, I’ll shower at the hotel.”

Camille Rhodes stared at Carson Flores, ”Aren’t you worried your wife will find out? Women are very sensitive to these things.”

Carson Flores grinned, ”I’ll take a direct shower at the hotel, no problem.”

”Alright then, I won’t keep you. Good night. I had a lot of fun today; let’s meet up another time.”

Another date?

Carson Flores looked at Camille Rhodes, who was smiling at him, unfazed.

Carson Flores conceded, ”Okay, I’m off.”

Watching Carson Flores leave the door, Camille Rhodes lounged on the living room sofa, her expression subtle.

”Since they are a couple, why book separate rooms with one ID per room? Could it be they actually live in separate rooms? That’s why Carson Flores dares to stay out all night, dare to go back to the hotel to shower, and not worry about his wife detecting the scent of another woman?”
