The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 273: Chapter 273 He’s Not Fighting Alone_1

The Rhodes siblings’ gazes immediately changed.

Camille Rhodes said in shock, ”You killed Oscar Miller’s personal bodyguard?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”He wanted to kill me at the time, but unfortunately, he underestimated my strength. Since that was the case, I naturally couldn’t be merciful towards him.”

Preston Rhodes said in surprise, ”The Miller Family didn’t take any action afterwards?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”The barefooted are not afraid of those with shoes. The Miller Family has a vast empire, and I am just one person. If they’re not confident about killing me and act rashly, bringing about my retaliation might not be something they can withstand.”

As the Rhodes Family heir, Preston Rhodes had a deep understanding of such a balance of power and immediately grasped the key point, ”You are a Gang Qi Realm master?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes.”

Preston had a look of shock on his face, and Camille’s mouth fell slightly open. Both were cultivators, and although Camille was less powerful, they were very clear about what it meant for a young man in his late twenties to be a master.

A genius!

An absolute genius!

Such a person, if not completely crushed with certainty, would lead to unbearable retaliation later on.

Not to speak of the formidable power of a master, who kills as easily as eating. Even if he doesn’t hold a grudge against you now, in ten or twenty years when his strength increases further, advancing to a Great Grandmaster, then who could withstand his return?

Even the extermination of an entire family was not an impossibility.

The Miller Family had such concerns, which is why they had been holding back and not caused any trouble for Carson Flores.

Of course, this didn’t mean that the Miller Family had compromised. They were just looking for a chance to strike a lethal blow. However, in Seashore, only the Acevedo Family ranked first among the Eight Great Families had a surviving Great Grandmaster. The other seven families varied in the number of masters, but none had another Great Grandmaster.

Preston Rhodes sighed, ”No wonder Mr. Flores is so fearless of the Miller Family. The authority of a master compels even the Miller Family to weigh its options carefully.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”It’s about not wanting to provoke a rat and risking breaking a vase, just looking for the opportunity. If they really find one, they will strike me with thunderous force.”

Preston nodded, ”Mr. Flores, which sect does your mentor belong to?”

Carson Flores answered frankly, ”I don’t belong to any sect, I only have one master, perhaps you’ve heard of him, Andrew.”

Preston looked surprised, then laughed, ”Mr. Flores, your spirit is very similar to that of Mr. Andrew. It truly runs in the lineage, doesn’t it?”

After dinner, Carson Flores left nonchalantly without bringing up the word ’cooperation’ again.

Watching Carson’s car disappear, Preston turned and cautioned, ”Camille, Carson Flores is like an extremely sharp sword; if it doesn’t harm others, it harms oneself. His battle with the Miller Family is inevitable. I suggest you keep your distance from Carson Flores to avoid getting too involved.”

Camille pouted, ”If Carson Flores is not afraid alone, what are you afraid of? You’ve turned him down, and he hasn’t mentioned it anymore.”

Preston shook his head, ”The Rhodes Family bears no grudge against the Miller Family, and we don’t share any business interests with them. It’s best not to meddle, just watch from the sidelines. Seeing his confident demeanor, he may already have found reliable allies.”

Camille asked curiously, ”Are you guessing?”

Preston shook his head, ”He mentioned it in passing but was very brief and showed no intention of persuading the Rhodes Family to join. I feel like he doesn’t particularly care about the Rhodes Family joining; perhaps he only asked because of you. It’s like poking a stick regardless of whether there are dates on the tree or not, just in case there’s an unexpected gain.”

Camille thought for a moment, ”Allies, do you mean the Fitzgerald Family?”

Preston smiled, ”To deal with the Miller Family, Carson Flores would inevitably want to ally with the Fitzgerald Family. Moreover, isn’t he treating Kylan Martinez? I think the medical treatment is just a pretext, the real deal is to ally with the Martinez Family. The Martinez Family has significant business competition with the Miller Family, and he also saved Taylor Johnston’s life, so it’s very likely that the Johnston Family will join in with the Martinez and Fitzgerald Families...”

Camille’s eyes widened, ”The Martinez, Fitzgerald, and Johnston Families joining forces against the Miller Family?”

Preston said softly, ”It’s just speculation, but this surely is the direction Carson Flores would take to unite forces. Since he’s at a do-or-die point with the Miller Family, he can only survive by completely defeating them. Once the war begins, it won’t be a small skirmish. The business affairs of the Miller Family have nothing to do with the Rhodes Family, and even if we got involved, the benefits we could gain are too minimal, so it’s not worth it.”

Camille’s eyes shone as she said, ”Carson Flores is incredible; in such a short span of time, he’s managed to nearly ally with half of the Eight Great Families?”

Preston laughed, ”Such a young master, with limitless potential and also a Divine Doctor; someone like him is definitely worth befriending, purely from the perspective of forming connections. Plus, since he can forge alliances, he surely has matching cooperative forces in hand, not just his own strength.”

”Carson Flores’ master, Andrew, is known for his unrestrained actions, which offended many sects, but also made a lot of true friends who would risk their lives for him. In times of need, a word from Andrew could bring a group of masters rushing to his aid.”

”Although it appears that Carson Flores is alone, in reality, he’s not fighting by himself.”

Camille said with a grin, ”Is this the benefit of having a powerful support behind you?”
