The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 278: Chapter 278: It’s Just 20 Million, No Need to Sell Everything, Right?_1

”Fuck!”

Henry White blurted out, as if struck by lightning.

Harper Miller was also stunned, her face a picture of disbelief.

Carson Flores’s bowling technique had no sense of beauty, it was clear he was an amateur, and one might say he had virtually no technique at all; his only strengths were his power and accuracy.

Yet, it was this singular strength that led to such an absurd result.

”Power shot! Strike! Brother, you’re so amazing!”

Samantha Tate hugged Carson Flores with delight, her face full of admiration, her earlier worries gone.

Her brother was the best at everything!

Even if he did it in a way you couldn’t understand, the results he achieved were always the best!

Carson Flores walked back, smiling, ”I told you, brute force can work wonders, you see, it’s proven now?”

Harper Miller’s face was ashen, ”That’s not how you play bowling.”

Carson Flores shrugged, ”Bowling has no rules against it, if you can’t do it, it’s just because you don’t have the skill.”

Harper Miller was speechless, unable to retort.

Indeed, there were no rules saying one couldn’t bowl that way; after all, it was an advantage.

The power shot that Samantha Tate had just shouted out was specially named for this type of throw: immense power, direct collision, crudely blasting the pins apart. Carson Flores’s approach was simply to take the power shot to the extreme.

Power, accuracy MAX, technique 0, effect... full score!

According to bowling scoring rules, two rounds in a row of spares also count as strikes, but they only add the score of the next throw, while a strike adds the score for the next two throws.

By this count, in the first round, Carson Flores and Samantha Tate had already taken a lead in the score by one ball.

”Again!”

Harper Miller’s complexion was terrible, and she had an ominous premonition.

As expected, the following match was simply devoid of any enjoyment.

No matter how hard Henry White and Harper Miller tried, Carson Flores just kept throwing simple and unadorned straight power shots.

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

...

Crisp explosive sounds rang out time and again, each one like a slap in Harper Miller’s face, and even many of the other players started coming over to watch this contest between skillful play and brute force.

The skillful play, although graceful, seemed so fragile and powerless in the face of the brute’s forceful pushes.

Totally crushed!

At the end of ten rounds, Carson Flores and Samantha Tate won by a large margin!

Samantha Tate’s skills were on par with Henry White and Harper Miller, while Carson Flores’s dominating throws guaranteed a simple and reliable strike each time.

”Wow, we won!”

Samantha Tate was thrilled, this was a 20 million bet!

Together, she and Carson Flores had beaten two experts and won 20 million!

Samantha Tate hugged Carson Flores in jubilation, ignoring the spectators around them, and kissed him fiercely, prompting a burst of laughter from the crowd, laughter tinged with envy.

Henry White and Harper Miller looked terrible, exchanging glances with a hint of panic in their eyes.

million!

They lost!

What to do?

Paying up was impossible, Harper Miller couldn’t come up with 20 million.

Carson Flores let go of the excited Samantha Tate and walked over to Harper Miller, smiling, ”Miss Miller, you’ve lost. You agreed to the bet, now it’s time to pay up.”

Harper Miller’s inner turmoil was a mix of embarrassment and anger; she felt as if she’d fallen into a trap set by Carson Flores.

”I just said I don’t have that much money on me; who carries 20 million around when they go out?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”No worries, you can make a call, have your family wire you the money. For the Miller Family of Seashore, 20 million is just a drop in the bucket. Surely you won’t go back on your word, right?”

Harper Miller snorted, ”Of course I won’t. Give me your card number, and I’ll have someone deposit it later.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Today’s matters should be settled today; I can’t wait for later.”

Harper Miller’s expression instantly soured, ”Are you forcing my hand?”

Carson Flores looked surprised, ”How is this forcing your hand? It’s just a phone call, after all. The Miller family of Seashore is so well-known; surely you don’t need to go home and desperately scrape together the money, right?”

”Besides, Miss Miller, I’m just a security guard. If you go home and ignore this, or even go on a vacation and disappear, and if other people deny knowing about this bet, who am I supposed to turn to?”

With everyone watching, Harper Miller wanted to explode but was conscious of maintaining her dignity. After all, claiming to be part of the Miller family, any disgrace wouldn’t just reflect on Harper Miller but on the entire Miller family.

Harper Miller, glaring at Carson Flores, had fire in her eyes!

Security guard!

You have the nerve to call yourself a security guard?

What security guard can casually throw down 20 million on a bet?

Harper Miller, looking into Carson Flores’s fearless and even somewhat mocking eyes, knew that if she didn’t handle the situation correctly, she wouldn’t be able to leave, and the Miller family’s reputation would be tarnished by her, trampled upon by others.

Harper Miller gritted her teeth, ”Let’s talk, privately!”
