The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 257: Chapter 257 When did the security threshold become so high?_1

”Yes, that’s him.”

Kylie Martinez looked at Carson Flores with surprise, ”Why would he give you ten million?”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”Consider it a consultation fee.”

At that moment, Camille Rhodes couldn’t care about arguing with Kylie Martinez anymore because her mind was also filled with question marks. She quickly followed up with, ”Consultation fee? Are you a doctor?”

Carson Flores answered, ”I’m not a doctor, but I understand medical science, and my level is quite good.”

Kylie Martinez and Camille Rhodes were not fools, to pay a consultation fee of ten million, that would be more than just ’quite good,’ wouldn’t it?

With the power of the Johnston Family, what kind of doctor couldn’t they get?

Why would they need Carson Flores, a security guard, to treat someone in their family?

There were only two reasons: one was that Carson Flores happened to be at the right place at the right time and saved the life of someone in the Johnston Family at their most critical moment, and this consultation fee was a life-saving fee. The other was that Carson Flores’s medical skills were exceptional, and he could cure diseases that no other doctor could.

Beyond that, there could be no third scenario.

Camille Rhodes’s eyes shone brightly, ”What else can you do? Might as well come clean with it all.”

Carson Flores laughed and said, ”I really can’t do anything else, I’m just a simple man.”

Camille Rhodes said teasingly with a smile, ”I always feel like you’re not being honest. I’ll have to interrogate you later to figure out what you’re really about!”

Kylie Martinez pursed her lips and said nothing, but she had already decided to thoroughly investigate Carson Flores.

How could such a capable guy, who knows Camille Rhodes and also knows Remy Johnston, with great strength and medical skill, choose to be a security guard?

Since when did the threshold for being a security guard become so high?

A man approached Kylie Martinez and said to her, ”Sister Martinez, we can race now.”

Kylie Martinez snapped back to reality and waved her hand, ”Wayne Singleton, go ahead, unleash your full power and aim for a resounding victory.”

Wayne Singleton nodded and turned to head towards the race car.

His presence had been so weak tonight.

The abilities that Carson Flores had inadvertently revealed time and again had overshadowed him, and although Kylie Martinez didn’t say anything, he was very aware that she was not pleased!

Now it was finally his forte, the Domain he excelled in—he had to use a grand victory to tell Kylie Martinez that he might not be as good as Carson Flores in other areas, but when it came to car racing, he was still awesome.

He must win!

Given the contentious relationship between Kylie Martinez and Camille Rhodes, if he was completely overshadowed by Carson Flores, and even his strongest area, car racing, couldn’t win back any dignity for Kylie Martinez, then he would have no worth left. He feared that after the race, he would be gloriously abandoned by Kylie Martinez.

Carson Flores didn’t waste words. He got into another car cleanly and, after briefly becoming familiar with it, the race was about to start.

”Vroom vroom vroom!”

The engines of both cars were roaring, and the vehicles lightly trembled, like beasts ready to pounce on their prey the next second.

As the flag at the side was suddenly swung down, the two cars instantly surged out.

Although Carson Flores was driving this car for the first time, the straight path ahead at the start was enough for him to basically understand the performance of the car.

At the first bend, he was on the outside and was instantly overtaken by Wayne Singleton on the inside. Carson Flores’s car sketched a beautiful arc, smoothly drifting around the corner with its tail swinging out.

Drift!

Camille Rhodes’s eyes brightened; this was just the first bend, and he was already so impressive. Once he was fully accustomed to the car, it would probably be even more startling.

Kylie Martinez said coldly, ”Impressive driving skills, but you sure got lucky bumping into a talent.”

Camille Rhodes gave a slight smile, ”Yeah, lucky me, right? Just going out for a casual drink and bumping into good fortune.”

Kylie Martinez said with sarcasm, ”Looks like someone’s lovesick.”

Camille Rhodes chuckled lightly, ”Are you envious? Your race car driver, you’ve raised just like a little quail, how boring.”

Kylie Martinez snorted, ”As long as he wins, that’s what counts!”

Camille Rhodes countered, ”But if he doesn’t, that’ll be a problem!”

The two of them exchanged a glance, then turned their eyes away from each other like two fighting cocks, neither willing to concede even a little.

The full crowd of spectators watched this scene, chattering away.

”The driving skills are not bad, but they’re still not as good as Wayne Singleton’s.”

”Wayne Singleton is universally recognized as a master; he’s not so easy to beat. It’s only the first bend and he’s already thrown so far behind; after all the bends, I bet he won’t even be able to see Wayne Singleton’s taillights.”

”I’ve bet a hundred thousand, these thirty thousand are practically free money.”

”I bet half a million, all or nothing. Brother Wayne, take me to fame and fortune!”

All the gamblers involved in the betting pool were smiling with joy, after all, they had almost unanimously bet on Wayne Singleton, practically no one bet on Carson Flores. With the odds at two-to-one, not even those who liked betting on longshots were willing to bet on Carson Flores.

However, in the blink of an eye, at the second bend, the sharp-eyed audience members were already sensing something amiss.

Seemingly, he looked smoother and faster going through the bend than before?
