The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 268: Chapter 268 Friends? I Don’t Quite Understand_1

Carson Flores’s wife is truly stunning, isn’t she? Her elegance is beyond words, it really awakens a person’s desire to conquer.

I wonder if such a woman can maintain her icy demeanor once she’s in bed?

Camille Rhodes felt a subtle shift in her emotions, her thoughts drifting aimlessly.

Shirley Miller gazed at Camille’s face, which was full of feminine charm, and felt a surge of envy within her heart.

Surely such a woman is the type that attracts men the most, exuding femininity from every pore.

Carson Flores must have been attracted to her as well.

The two of them had even kissed, Carson had even touched her...

A sense of unexplained sourness emerged in Shirley Miller’s heart.

Both of them were somewhat distracted, and the duration of their handshake unconsciously became a bit long, yet neither of them realized it.

It was only when their gazes once again collided in the air in that subtle way that they both suddenly snapped back to reality and let go of each other’s hands at the same time.

”Miss Rhodes, please take a seat.”

After inviting Camille Rhodes to sit down, Shirley Miller walked to the tea cabinet and said with a smile, ”Tea, coffee, or water?”

”Tea, thank you.”

Shirley Miller took out the tea leaves, personally brewed a cup for Camille Rhodes, and brought it over.

Camille Rhodes stood up, extended both hands, and politely accepted the teacup: ”Thank you!”

That was perhaps a bit too courteous.

That’s what Shirley Miller was thinking as she sat back down in her own seat: ”Miss Rhodes, were you looking for me just now concerning the matter of raw material supply?”

Camille Rhodes nodded: ”Yes, I’m aware of the difficulties your company has been facing.”

Shirley Miller chuckled, ”You shouldn’t be involved in this industry, right? How come you’re concerned about these things? Did Carson tell you about them?”

Camille shook her head: ”No, he didn’t speak to me about it, I just happened to find out myself.”

Not Carson?

Shirley Miller had thought it was Carson who had sought help from the Rhodes family, but now it seemed that wasn’t the case?

Shirley Miller calmly asked, ”What’s the purpose of your visit today, Miss Rhodes?”

Camille Rhodes smiled, ”I have bought up all the stock from your three suppliers.”

Shirley Miller’s brows furrowed slightly, a sudden tightness gripping her heart.

What was Camille Rhodes planning to do?

Use these goods to blackmail her?

About Carson?

Shirley Miller crisply said, ”Miss Rhodes, you might as well be straightforward.”

Camille Rhodes smiled sweetly, ”Alright, simply put, I now have all the merchandise in my hands. If you want it, bring the money to buy it. Whenever you pay, the goods will be delivered to you.”

Shirley Miller smiled, ”How about the price?”

The corners of Camille Rhodes’s mouth curved up slightly: ”The original price. I bought it at the same price you would have, so you can buy it back at that price.”

Shirley Miller was stunned.

The original price?

So you buy directly and then sell it to me at the original price without making a profit, what’s in it for you?

A hint of amusement flickered in Camille Rhodes’s eyes, seemingly delighted to see the astonishment in Shirley Miller’s.

”Did you think I bought it to sell to you at a higher price?”

Shirley Miller stared into Camille Rhodes’s eyes, clear as autumn water, and asked softly, ”Are you doing this to help me? Or to help Carson?”

Camille Rhodes chuckled, ”Yes, Carson and I are friends. He was too embarrassed to ask for my help, but since I found out, I just lent a hand and sorted it out for him. At the same time, I wanted to meet you. I have always heard him say his wife is as beautiful as a Heavenly Immortal, and seeing you today, it’s certainly true; even I, a woman, am moved.”

Shirley Miller didn’t know how to respond to Camille Rhodes’s words. Carson calling her as beautiful as a Heavenly Immortal?

Impossible!

That must have been something Camille Rhodes added herself!

Carson didn’t seek her help, but she took the initiative. Then she didn’t even tell Carson but came directly to her saying it was to meet her?

Could it be that Camille Rhodes had fallen for Carson?

Seeking this opportunity to meet her, to weigh her up, and then to gauge Carson’s feelings?

”You and Carson...”

Shirley Miller didn’t finish her sentence, staring at Camille Rhodes, waiting for her to provide the answer.

Camille Rhodes chuckled, ”Miss Miller, don’t overthink it. Carson and I are just friends. This time, it’s just friends helping each other out. We didn’t want to confront the Miller Family directly, so we made this roundabout move to subtly show our power. However, I believe that after this, the Miller Family will not hinder your raw material supply anymore.”

Just friends helping each other out?

Why do I find that hard to believe?

Shirley Miller chuckled, ”I should probably talk to Carson about this, otherwise he might blame me later on.”

Camille Rhodes shook her head, ”No need to tell him. He didn’t mention it to me earlier because he didn’t want my help. What if he got stubborn and would rather not have this batch of raw materials than accept my help? I offered this help and came to meet you in person because I was hoping to become friends with you.”

You kissed and touched my husband, and now you want to be friends with me?

Stubbornness?

The way you put it, why does it seem like you’re so close to Carson?

Shirley Miller hesitated for a moment, but eventually couldn’t help asking, ”I don’t quite understand, I know about your situation, with such a relationship, yet you still seek to be friends with me?”
