Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Path to Health Episode 1 Airs

Fan City Television’s show, Path to Health, was recorded in sequence, with each episode dedicated to a different theme.

Once the final guest list was confirmed, production on the first episode began.

As the premiere, this episode was meant to give the show a strong start, so it featured the most powerful lineup. The production team invited the deans of several major hospitals in Fan City to be the guests.

The deans from hospitals like City First Hospital, City Second Hospital, the Military Hospital, and the City National Hospital participated in filming the first episode.

Dean Tang Long, representing City First Hospital, was also a guest on the premiere. This first episode was an overview, meant to define the show’s identity and set its tone.

During the show, the deans shared interesting stories and insights from their careers, as well as introducing their hospitals’ specialty departments.

The show’s core message was clear: to focus on the public’s physical and mental health, promote wellness, advocate for healthy living, and discuss the prevention and treatment of common diseases, all while blending entertainment with professional expertise.

The show also established a major hook: each episode would ”unmask” a doctor and preview the medical topic the next guest would discuss.

The show even featured a popularity leaderboard. After all the guests had made their appearance, viewers could vote for their favorite. The most popular doctor would receive a one-million-yuan research grant.

After the deans’ opening segment, the first featured guest took the stage.

She was Lu Yu, an attending physician from the Burn and Cosmetic Surgery Department of City First Hospital.

The production team had their reasons for choosing Lu Yu. First off, she had an excellent public image. Furthermore, her skills and academic background were equally impressive.

Most importantly, Lu Yu’s topic was Cosmetic Surgery. The subject was highly buzzworthy and shareable, naturally attracting a large female viewership.

On the show, Lu Yu shared several of her surgical cases and unveiled a core, newly improved Surgical Technique: ophthalmic cosmetic surgery performed with an ultra-pulse CO2 laser.

This was the specialty Surgical Technique that Lu Yu was now preparing to promote with all her effort.

On the day the first episode of Path to Health aired, the dean’s assistant sent a message to the main City First Hospital group chat early in the morning, tagging everyone and urging them to share the promotional clip for the premiere.

The clip announced that Dean Tang of City First Hospital and Director Lu of the Burn and Cosmetic Surgery Department would be making their grand debut.

City First Hospital’s official social media accounts all shared the promotion simultaneously.

This clearly showed how much importance the hospital placed on the program.

The Burn and Cosmetic Surgery Department had already mobilized its entire staff to cooperate, and they had started holding related free clinics long ago.

Lu Yu’s team had also received a 500,000-yuan grant and had already purchased the newest laser machine.

Department Director Wei Guoqiang had already laid out Lu Yu’s future career path. Once the Surgical Technique she was pioneering was well-established and she had trained a capable team, she would be recommended for a year of advanced study at the Burn Center of Qinghe City’s Jishuitan Hospital.

When Lu Yu returned from her training, she would be on the fast track to a promotion to chief physician.

Thanks to this opportunity on Path to Health, Lu Yu was set to gain both fame and fortune. She was destined to become the future leader of the Burn and Cosmetic Surgery Department.

Seeing the preferential treatment Lu Yu was receiving, Wu Ting was filled with gratitude. This excellent opportunity had originally belonged to Jiang Ming, but he had given it to her to set the record straight about his character.

This only strengthened Wu Ting’s resolve to perform well when her turn on the show came.

...

...

On the day the first episode aired, many doctors gathered in front of their TVs at the scheduled time to watch.

Director Yao Shi of City Second Hospital had settled in front of his coffee table early, watching the various deans appear on the show.

Yao Shi watched intently, diligently taking notes and studying their composed demeanor and expert air, trying to emulate them.

’The guests for the first episode have all been revealed, so why haven’t I been notified yet? They’re really keeping things under wraps on this show.’

Yao Shi had already tried to find out through the grapevine that the Path to Health production team always notified selected guests a week before filming. Furthermore, they only ever filmed one episode ahead of the broadcast schedule.

This meant the rest of the guest list and the filming order were kept confidential. Yao Shi didn’t quite understand this system.

’Could it be that some guests haven’t been finalized? Or maybe someone will cut in line at the last minute?’

’I did hear that besides the candidates nominated by the hospitals, the production team can also directly invite their own guests. Is this so they can easily slot in their own people later on?’

Yao Shi stopped dwelling on it. Based on the current situation, he felt his selection was practically a given.

His chosen topic, laparoscopic appendectomy, was a clever one. He had also accumulated more than enough case studies to be persuasive.

Besides, as one of the first ”influencer” medical experts, he was extremely popular!

Yao Shi thought for a moment and decided to get a suit custom-made in advance. He didn’t want a sudden notice to film the show to leave him scrambling for something to wear.

This time, thanks to his online influence, Yao Shi had earned the approval of his department head, Li Baohua.

His online posts promoting the General Surgery Department of City Second Hospital had attracted numerous patients who came specifically seeking him out, which had him riding high in the department.

Director Li had even applied for special research funding on his behalf. Moreover, starting next week, a free clinic would be set up for his project in the outpatient lobby of City Second Hospital.

’One should enjoy success to the fullest!’

After the show ended, Yao Shi was still buzzing with excitement. He decided to record another short video that night to further promote his upcoming free clinic.

’I’m going to be so busy after this clinic!’

’The volume of surgeries is money. With this wave of patients, I, Yao Shi, will gain both fame and fortune.’

「A new week began.」

Monday was also the busiest day at City Second Hospital.

The outpatient lobby of City Second Hospital was already packed with people early in the morning.

In the bustling lobby, in addition to patients registering for appointments, there were many people there for consultations or accompanying friends and family.

This made the outpatient lobby a perfect place for promotion.

At 8:00 AM, the free clinic began right on schedule. Director Yao Shi of City Second Hospital’s General Surgery Department was heading the event, supported by an associate chief physician and a senior attending physician from his department.

The event’s main focus was on acute abdominal conditions, with a special emphasis on appendicitis screening and public education. It offered free consultations, psychological counseling, and information about laparoscopic appendectomy to all attendees.

Participants also received free educational pamphlets, promotional brochures, and health products.

Potential patients in need of surgery could also schedule appointments for hospitalization and their procedures.

As Fan City’s ”influencer director,” Yao Shi was quite popular. The short promotional video he posted last night, in particular, had attracted a large number of patients.

Yao Shi received the patients with a relaxed and cheerful demeanor. Convinced by his professionalism, many of them scheduled appointments for hospitalization and surgery.

On that very same day, the Emergency Department at City First Hospital also launched its own free clinic.

They were even launching a nationally pioneering procedure: the Wu’s Umbilical Hole Laparoscopic Appendectomy!

Its main selling point was a scar-free cosmetic result!

By sheer coincidence, the two hospitals were now facing off from across the city!
