Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Yao Shi’s Comment: Transfer Hospitals Immediately, Remember This

Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital.

Shen Guofeng’s doctoral student, Yan Xi, was reviewing a paper her professor had sent her.

Yan Xi was a top-tier prodigy through and through. A Ph.D. student at Jinggang University—one of only sixteen universities in the country offering direct-entry doctoral programs in medicine—she was just 27 years old. Studying under Shen Guofeng, her future was bound to be limitless.

When she received Wu Ting’s paper, Yan Xi was initially puzzled. After all, the author was merely an undergraduate doing his residency at Fan City First Hospital.

How could such a junior doctor be qualified to submit to a top domestic journal like the *Jin Country Critical Care Medicine Journal*? But based on what she knew of her professor, any paper he took seriously couldn’t possibly be subpar.

’Who is this Wu Ting?’

With looks that would rank her as a campus belle anywhere at Jinggang University and a mind as sharp as a sixty-four-core processor, Yan Xi had countless admirers. There weren’t many young men who could pique her interest.

’Looks like I’ll have to spend a lot of time revising this paper,’ she thought.

Yan Xi always strived for perfection in the tasks her professor assigned. After returning to her apartment, she opened her laptop, preparing to pull an all-nighter to revise it.

She turned on the air conditioner and, dressed in thin, translucent pajamas that faintly revealed her perfect figure, settled onto the sofa with her laptop, her fair hands holding it as she began to read.

The more she read, the more stunned she became. The content of Wu Ting’s paper was incredibly hardcore, and it even integrated National Medicine with modern medicine.

’Just how profound a foundation and how much clinical experience would it take to create a surgical technique like this?’

Yan Xi had positioned her own development to focus mainly on scientific research, which inevitably meant her clinical skills were weaker. So, seeing a junior doctor like Wu Ting possess such a strong clinical foundation, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration.

’This is amazing. Not only is the content hardcore, but the entire format is neat and perfect. It’s practically flawless.’

’Especially the various case files, experimental data, and statistics from the Emergency Department and the National Medical Department—even I couldn’t have been this comprehensive.’

’Could a doctor this young already have his own team? Otherwise, how did he manage to coordinate between two departments and handle so many cases?’

Suddenly, Yan Xi felt she ought to get to know this young doctor who balanced his clinical and research work so well.

Yan Xi’s own doctoral project was still in progress, and she had been unable to find a clinical breakthrough. Her expertise was mainly limited to the framework and formatting of papers.

After checking it carefully one more time, Yan Xi laughed at herself.

’My professor isn’t trying to give me a hard time. He’s showing me an example of an outstanding paper, isn’t he? How could this possibly need me to review, optimize, and offer suggestions for revision?’

Yan Xi even scrutinized the foreign-language references but still couldn’t find any faults.

’A paper like this would be considered high-quality even for the *Jin Country Critical Care Medicine Journal*.’

Yan Xi read it over one last time before sending her thoughts and opinions to her professor.

”Professor, I’ve reviewed the paper you sent me. There are absolutely no issues. In fact, given my own level of experience, I feel I’ve learned a great deal from it.”

”Professor, if you have a chance, could you introduce me to this young doctor?”

Shen Guofeng was a little surprised when he saw Yan Xi’s message. Yan Xi was his star pupil, after all, and she was quite accomplished when it came to writing papers.

’To earn such admiration from Yan Xi... this Wu Ting is quite interesting.’

Shen Guofeng happened to have some free time, so he also reviewed Wu Ting’s paper.

After a long while, Shen Guofeng also felt a sense of astonishment.

’To be able to produce such a high-quality paper at his age... This Wu Ting is not bad at all!’

As the head of the editorial department for the *Jin Country Critical Care Medicine Journal*, Shen Guofeng had considerable influence. He submitted Wu Ting’s paper to his subordinate in the department without any changes.

”Xiao Wang, I’ve already reviewed this paper. The quality is very high. Please arrange to have it included in the next issue of the journal.”

A short while later, his subordinate replied. Since Professor Shen had given the instructions personally, it would of course be arranged with top priority.

”Understood, Professor Shen. I’ll arrange for its publication immediately.”

After receiving the confirmation, Shen Guofeng immediately sent a message back to Wu Ting.

”Wu Ting, I have some good news for you.”

”I’ve reviewed your paper. It’s exceptionally well-written and of very high quality. I’ve already made arrangements, so you should receive a sample copy within two weeks.”

”Also, one more thing. My doctoral student read your paper and was very impressed with your clinical and academic skills. When you have time, come to my hospital, and I’ll introduce you. You two are close in age and both are young talents. You can exchange ideas in the academic field in the future.”

He thought about Yan Xi and Wu Ting. They seemed quite compatible. If they actually hit it off, wouldn’t that make their connection even closer?

Shen Guofeng was harboring a little ulterior motive.

...

...

In a ward of the City First Hospital’s Emergency Department.

The patient’s family was anxiously awaiting news from the doctor.

Gathered around the ward were the patient’s two sons, one daughter, one grandson, and two granddaughters, all waiting.

”Are these doctors any good? It’s been so long, and they still haven’t come up with a treatment plan.”

”If conservative treatment isn’t working, then just do the surgery!”

Watching Zhang Ying lie weakly on the hospital bed in pain, her children and grandchildren felt their hearts ache for her.

The patient’s young grandson, frantic with worry, started searching on ”Kuaiyin” for treatment methods for acute appendicitis in the elderly.

Thanks to big data algorithms, he actually managed to find an expert doctor from Fan City Second Hospital specializing in laparoscopic techniques.

’He has over eighty thousand followers, and his latest pinned video has more than four hundred thousand likes. This doctor is really popular.’

’Director Yao Shi from the General Surgery Department of City Second Hospital. Specializes in laparoscopic surgery, with a particular research focus on appendectomies.’

The grandson then looked at the comments on Director Yao Shi’s videos and saw a lot of support from viewers.

The videos also showed many silk banners, displaying a high level of professionalism.

After some thought, the grandson sent a private message describing his grandma’s condition.

Yao Shi had been thoroughly enjoying the perks of being a ”Kuaiyin” influencer lately, so he was always on the lookout for suitable material to make new videos.

When he saw the case of an 89-year-old grandma with acute appendicitis in his inbox, he thought it was an excellent topic.

He immediately created a video reply and posted it.

The title was: ”Insights on Treatment Plans for Super-Aged Acute Appendicitis Patients with Comorbidities of Coronary Heart Disease and Hypertension.”

”First of all, this patient’s condition is extremely critical. As a chief physician who has studied appendectomies for decades, my recommendation for a super-aged patient like this is to not remain in any hospital within Fan City. Transfer her immediately to Xiao City or Xianglin City Hospital.”

”Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital, Fenglin Hospital affiliated with Xianglin City Transportation University... any of these hospitals would be suitable.”

”As for her current location, Fan City First Hospital, I don’t believe their Emergency Department or General Surgery Department can perform this surgery perfectly. The surgical risk is simply too high. A conventional laparoscopic appendectomy has the fatal flaw of pneumoperitoneum. As for a traditional open appendectomy, that’s even more dangerous.”

”In a situation like this, the sooner she is transferred to a higher-level hospital, the sooner she can receive treatment. This type of patient requires a dedicated team of experts to formulate a targeted surgical plan. The traditional laparoscopic appendectomy must be optimized and improved.”

”Currently, based on my understanding of the skill level of doctors at the various hospitals in Fan City, there is no solution for this surgery here. It’s a helpless situation, really. The hospitals in our Fan City, even the most comprehensive one, City First Hospital, still have a significant gap compared to the top-tier hospitals within and outside the province.”

”This is also the reason why I am leading my team to specialize in the field of laparoscopic appendectomies. Our team has already made breakthroughs in this area and has collected many classic case studies.”

”I’ll let you in on a little news: there might be an opportunity coming up for me to lead my team and showcase our recent achievements. I hope everyone will tune in then.”

After Director Yao’s reply video was published, it was also forwarded to the patient’s grandson.

He also left a comment:

Transfer her to another hospital as soon as possible. Remember this!
