Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

She could only watch as his gaze grew more brutal, more cold.

”Do you really want to shoot lingerie ads so badly and let all the men watch you?” The thought of her being admired by everyone on TV made Joshua Hughes even more furious.

”I am lowly, but you can leave me, can’t you? You can find someone more refined. Why do you bother me? I don’t like anything you want me to do. Why do you force me? Are you even a man? You promised a month, but you went back on your word. I want to live as I wish. This is already my biggest concession. To you, I’m just a tool to vent your desires, but I’m a person. I need to have my own work and life. If you push me further, I’ll go be with Wenyard Cooper. I’m telling you, I’m not afraid to die, I’ve never been afraid.”

Avery Jane’s breathing was rapid, and the anger suppressed in her heart erupted like a volcanic explosion. Joshua Hughes was being excessively outrageous.

”Damn it.” Joshua Hughes, as if he’d gone mad, suddenly raised his large hand.

Avery Jane raised her face defiantly, watching him lower his hand again. She laughed coldly and said, ”Go ahead, hit me. If you kill me, I’d even thank you.”

”Avery Jane, you’ve really provoked me.” Joshua Hughes grabbed her arm with his large hand and dragged her outside, his gaze as malicious as a wolf’s. He had been far too patient with her, which was why she dared to challenge him like this.

”Let go of me, it hurts, you madman...” Avery Jane struggled to break free, but Joshua Hughes’s strength was immense, and she couldn’t move at all.

”Why did you go out with another man? Why don’t you listen to me? Why do you resist me?” Joshua Hughes, like a deranged Beast, dragged Avery Jane outside.

His car was parked in a designated spot. He opened the backseat door and shoved her inside harshly.

Avery Jane was thrown so hard she felt dizzy. Just as she tried to get up, the man followed her in and pinned her heavily onto the seat. Her words nearly drove him insane. He couldn’t stand to see her sitting with another man. She was his woman; her beauty was his alone to enjoy. No one else could even glimpse at it...

”Are you crazy? This is a banquet, don’t make a scene.” Avery Jane stared at Joshua Hughes, who looked like he wanted to tear her apart and devour her. She was so frightened that her voice trembled.

”Afraid now, are we? It’s too late to be afraid.” He was determined to give her a good lesson, or she would never understand whose woman she was.

”Let’s talk about it when we get back. Let me back in; Beckett will come looking for me.” She really didn’t want anyone to see her with Joshua Hughes. After all, she had to work, she had to live.

If people saw them, what would she do? Others would surely think she was seducing her sister-in-law’s boyfriend.

Just thinking about it made her feel completely shattered.

”This dress is also from Beckett, isn’t it? If you like something, can’t you ask me for it? Does it have to be from another man?” Joshua Hughes looked at the elegant yet sensual dress, feeling like he’d swallowed a bomb...

He owned the world, yet his woman accepted a dress from someone else and wore it to a banquet. To him, this was an utter insult.

No woman had ever hidden a double-dealing side from him; Avery Jane was the first.

What kind of man was Joshua Hughes? Was there any woman he couldn’t have?

Yet this self-righteous woman insisted on being different, driving him to the brink of madness.

”Are you sure this isn’t a case of playing hard to get? Avery Jane, don’t try to play games with me.”

In every respect, he wasn’t inferior to any other man. What was she dissatisfied with?
