Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Avery Jane looked at him with hatred, her heart filled with bitterness, but she had no choice but to get into the car first.

”Wait, my agent is still inside.” Avery Jane remembered that Angela Scott was still in the airport, after all, she would have to bring Angela back with her.

”Even if I wait for her, she’s too scared to sit in my car. She fears it would cut short her life span.” Joshua Hughes’ deep laughter resonated from his chest as he cleanly and swiftly drove the car away.

Without his consent, no woman could sit in his car.

Avery Jane sat in the car, watching the man driving.

His behavior today was surprisingly different, lacking the usual coldness and cruelty, absent was the formidable temper that induced fear.

Yet, the more he behaved like this, the more Avery Jane felt an immense threat and pressure.

”Don’t consider that three-day farce so laughable, Joshua Hughes, I am a free person, and we are completely unrelated. If you intend to threaten me with something, you are mistaken. I will agree to nothing, and if it means entangling with you for Wenyard’s sake, I’d rather not. If Wenyard were aware of this from the afterlife, he would support my decision. If you dare use any underhanded means, then I will expose it publicly. I’m curious to see if you can afford to lose face like this.”

Avery Jane’s voice lost its usual softness, cold as if tiny ice beads were falling onto a jade plate, each word was precious yet chilling.

This woman always seemed gentle, yet carried an underlying commanding presence.

Avery Jane knew very well, if she truly engaged in a physical transaction with Joshua Hughes for the sake of the laboratory, Wenyard would certainly not be pleased from the afterlife.

Joshua Hughes had a sexy curve to his lips, looking at the woman sitting beside him.

At this moment, Avery Jane seemed like a little cat forced to extend its claws, her gentle demeanor now infused with an unprecedented fierceness. Her clear black and white eyes carried resistance and anger, more captivating than ever.

This woman, she never realized that this side of her would make men boil with passion even more.

”Is that so? But it was you who started this game, you who asked me for all kinds of opportunities, you who agreed to the bet. In this world, there has never been anyone who could break a contract with me. Do you want to be the first?”

Joshua Hughes spoke calmly, not rushing, seemingly confident in winning her over.

”Have you thought about the consequences of breaking a contract with me? Do you ignore the dead and the living alike?”

Joshua Hughes glanced at Avery Jane, his tone effortlessly light.

But this was the time Avery Jane began feeling the terrifying danger closing in again.

”What are you planning to do?” Avery Jane furrowed her brows tightly, her breaths tinged with slight pain. The entire car was filled with his intense masculine scent, even though his expression now was lazily relaxed like a leopard basking in the sun, but it could not hide the ferocity in him.

”Not to mention your beloved laboratory, without sufficient funds, you’ll only sell it off cheaply to others, leading those foolhardy youth to feel despair, lost, perhaps even turning resentful and on a misguided path. Just talking about the Yates Family, Evelyn Yates suggested to Arthur Yates divorcing Madam Wright, then formally marrying her mother. Do you think someone like Madam Wright, if abandoned by her husband, might consider joining her son?”,

Avery Jane stared at Joshua Hughes with disbelieving eyes, he was indeed ruthless, such insidious tactics were too vicious, leaving her with no ability to resist.

That was Wenyard’s mother, also her own mother, who took care of her for so many years, how could she watch her fall into a forsaken state?

And these life-altering matters flow from his mouth with effortless ease.

To him, others’ lives were insignificant, he only wanted to fulfill his desires, showing no basic respect.

She was practically a commodity waiting for a price, even less than that.

”Are you insane? How could you harm others this way?”

Avery Jane’s lips trembled softly; having been with Lucas Yates all these years, her good upbringing rendered her unable to utter a single curse.
