Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Seeing her like this, the man chuckled softly, ”Have I harmed anyone? Did I say I intended to hurt them? Avery Jane, I’m just helping you analyze what might happen in the future. If you truly don’t want to be with me, I can’t force you, can I? After all, I would lose face too, wouldn’t I? But what I’m saying is the truth, so you have to be careful when making any decision, otherwise...”

His smile gradually widened, intentionally leaving his words hanging, but just these two words ”otherwise” were enough to threaten Avery Jane ominously.

He said she should be careful when making any decisions, but are decisions hers to make?

He had planned it all long ago; what decision could she even make?

What does the bet count for, even if she didn’t go to him for a month, Avery Jane believed he would have other ways to make her surrender. It was all her fault for thinking too simply.

”My patience isn’t good, Avery Jane, if you’re smart, you should be thinking about how to fight for what you want, not how to avoid me. You can’t escape, not even with wings. I’ll craft a golden cage to trap you and share passionate nights with you. Just thinking about it is intoxicating.”

The smile on Joshua Hughes’ lips slowly faded, while his eyes seemed shrouded in a cold mist, making anyone who entered lose their way.

The temperature in the car instantly seemed to drop, bringing with it a biting chill.

This was his true self; that momentary tenderness was merely an illusion.

He was such a man, domineering and arrogant, taking without concern for others’ willingness,

using money and power to obtain everything he wanted.

But sadly, she seemed to be running out of options, as Joshua Hughes pressed so tightly she barely had room to breathe.

”From today, you need to report your whereabouts at all times, Avery Jane. You’re a woman who doesn’t keep promises. How dare you think of running after making a bet with me? I truly admire your courage.”

The car drove down the highway, with the afternoon sun shining through the windshield, casting a light of loneliness on the man’s face and bitterness on the woman’s face.

”I’m free; that’s impossible.” Avery Jane blurted out without even thinking.

This matter seemed to be getting more absurd by the moment—report her whereabouts at any time?

The disbelief, tension, and anger in her eyes were all seen by Joshua Hughes.

His thin lips twitched slightly, she was always like this. Her first words to him were always ’impossible’ or ’no.’ Her beautiful eyes forever bore struggle and resistance.

Oddly, even though he hated women’s disobedience, that kind of gaze always occasionally stirred his heart.

Perhaps once he had her, once he tired of playing, it wouldn’t be so.

Joshua Hughes comforted himself, just a woman, just prettier than others, disobedience could always be tamed until it’s obedient. He didn’t believe she was harder to tame than an eagle.

”Finding out your whereabouts is not difficult, but I want your initiative.” Joshua Hughes’ eagle-like sharp eyes swept across her face, his thin lips curling in subtle displeasure with an icy chill.

”You’re a madman.”

As soon as she spoke, Joshua Hughes’ large hand suddenly reached over, grasping her hand at her side. His movement was so sudden that she wanted to break free but was pulled even tighter instead.

The man’s dark eyes scanned her fair and jade-like face, his lips curling in a smile, ”Then I’ll just be a madman.”

”Let go of me.” Avery Jane tried to wrench free from his tight grip, glaring at him in displeasure.

Joshua Hughes didn’t force her further and said coolly, ”In the future, you’ll be begging me not to let go.”

His face wore a mischievous smirk that was quite detestable.

”Never.”

She said those words decisively.

Avery Jane’s lips curled with a cold smile, making the arc at his lips dip slightly, the deep light in his eyes slowly growing tighter and darker. Looking at her, there was a hint of danger in his eyes.

”First, there’s no forever between us. Second, in my world, there’s no such word as impossible. You overestimate yourself; at best, you’re just a woman for my amusement, just a toy.”
