Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”If you have a problem, just move aside quickly, don’t let one person’s issue delay so many people.”

”What’s wrong with this person, why aren’t they leaving? Could they be some kind of criminal who can’t enter?”

”Doesn’t seem like it, so pretty?”

People in the crowd chattered in small groups, as Avery Jane picked up her bag and turned away from the security checkpoint.

The vast airport felt empty even with so many people around.

Because her heart was empty...

Suddenly, she thought of that man. She didn’t know why he flashed into her mind—Joshua Hughes.

The thought sliced through her mind like lightning. Could it be him?

Her lips quivered slightly. But how could it be? How could he know she was leaving?

Could he predict the future?

Or does he have x-ray vision, seeing her in the airport?

It’s terrifying. How could this be possible? Avery Jane couldn’t help but look around nervously.

Was it fate that had arranged everything, preventing her from leaving, making her unable to go?

Was she destined to be entangled with that terrifying man?

Standing alone amidst the crowd, it was as if she was mired in quicksand, being buried and submerged, silently...

Standing in the airport, space and time flowed like sand, she stood like a small statue, with a hint of confusion in her hollow eyes.

She didn’t know where to go or what tomorrow would bring.

All of this seemed to take her back to those bitter days before she was fifteen.

”Oh my God, I’m glad I found you...”

Angela Scott looked at Avery Jane, standing quietly not far from the security checkpoint, gasping for breath.

Luckily, she made it in time, or else both of them would have been finished.

As a manager, if her model ran away, she’d have to suffer the consequences too.

”Scott, why are you here?” Avery Jane suddenly snapped out of her daze and gently asked, her voice betraying a hint of loss and sorrow.

Yes, yesterday was an unbearable humiliation for her. Even though Angela Scott didn’t know what happened to her yesterday, seeing someone familiar made her feel strange, as if she’d been stripped bare for display.

”How could I not come? If I didn’t, would I just watch you make a mistake?”

Angela Scott glanced at Avery Jane: ”Do you know how serious the consequences of breaching the contract are, and what a big deal made you do this? Have you thought about what to do in the future?”

Angela Scott pleaded earnestly, not believing that Avery Jane was an irresponsible person.

She must have encountered some difficulty, but no matter how hard, problems can be solved.

Running away like this means she’s finished, after this, she’d never be able to mix in this circle again, no company would sign her, no advertisers would want her.

”I, I just have some issues.” Avery Jane didn’t know how to tell others about her problems, things she couldn’t bring herself to say.

At this moment, Avery Jane’s phone rang melodiously.

She reached into her handbag, took out her phone, and glanced at the phone number.

The phone number filled her with heart-pounding fear, as if walking on thin ice.

She gently swiped open the screen with trembling fingers, the voice on the other end was low and elegant.

But such a pleasant voice brought her inexplicable fear: ”Avery Jane, where have you gone?”

The voice was gentle, so gentle that for a moment she almost thought it couldn’t be him.

But such a unique combination of numbers could only belong to him, no one else.

Even the most gentle and elegant voice was enough to freeze her in place, unable to move.

”N-no...”

Her answer was obviously strange, and she was clearly guilty.

The phone call at this moment further confirmed her suspicions, she couldn’t leave the country.

She didn’t even have the last chance to escape, this feeling was like being doused with a basin of cold water on such a winter day, leaving her feeling cold from head to toe.

”I just want to know where you are, I’ll pick you up. Don’t you still have to finish filming an ad today?” The voice on the phone seemed to carry a faint sneer, cutting through the radio waves, and Avery Jane could almost imagine that this man was driving with one hand, holding the phone with the other, secretly mocking her childish actions in his heart.

”What do you want to do?” Avery Jane’s heart was filled with bubbles of anger, slowly rising, slowly enlarging until they filled her entire chest.

This hateful man, what else could he possibly want? He must have clearly mastered her actions, which is why he would call her at this time.
