Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”What I’ve wanted to drag down has always been you, don’t you understand?” The man’s mood seemed exceptionally good on the other end of the phone, and he laughed happily.

The deep laughter seemed to travel through the waves and seep into her eardrum, she could almost feel the vibration of his chest when he laughed.

”You’re dreaming, Joshua Hughes, I’ll definitely hold out till that day comes, and I hope you won’t go back on your word.” Since there wasn’t even a chance for her to escape, she’d have to face him head-on.

Just a month, and there are only twenty-something days left. She didn’t believe he could really make her jump into his bed in those twenty-something days unless she changed her nature.

”Avery Jane, you’re thinking too simply. I bet three days before you’ll come looking for me because I’m already impatient to enjoy your body, it’s more delicious than I imagined. Don’t struggle too much, save some strength to deal with me.” Joshua Hughes drove the car, it seemed like this woman was almost muddled by him.

How could she think of escaping? Where could she run to?

Outside the airport hall, a black business car came to a steady stop.

The car door opened, and the man who got out was handsome and tall, with an outstanding appearance, causing the girl’s eyes to be attracted to him in admiration.

Some girls even took out their phones to take pictures but were stopped by just one glance from him.

He just stood there, with sunlight caressing every inch of his body as if crafted by God, impossibly beautiful.

He was just looking at the exit until that petite figure slowly walked out from inside, standing in the crowd, he could spot her with just one glance.

She was delicate as a little porcelain doll, with a refined and transcendent appearance, already arresting enough without any need for embellishment.

Avery Jane looked at Joshua Hughes, there was a certain distance between them, and he leaned against the door, his hawk-like eyes tightly fixed on her figure.

For a moment, it was like a scene in a movie.

The people around them flashed past like phantoms, leaving only the two of them in a silent gaze, with rapid currents of emotions surging between them, one wanted to conquer, the other wanted to resist, their looks interwoven in the air, as if all other things and people were just air.

Angela Scott watched the scene in front of her in shock, her mouth gaping as if it could fit an egg.

That was Joshua Hughes, it really was him.

It seemed he was here for Avery Jane.

This was the supreme leader of M.C, fully holding the reins of M.C.

As the largest entertainment company, perhaps all their businesses combined couldn’t compare to a mere corner of the Hughes Clan, yet such a big boss personally came for Avery Jane, what could this mean?

He’s interested in Avery Jane, and very interested at that.

This was a great opportunity, just that for a girl as stubborn and conservative as Avery Jane, it could also be the beginning of a disaster.

Avery Jane slowly walked over, the breeze gently stirring her hair and dress in a picturesque manner. She stepped forward and studied this man carefully, as if seeing him anew. Yes, she needed to know him better, because when there was no way out, she could only confront him head-on, even if it was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, she had to give it a try.

”Was it you who stopped me from leaving?” Avery Jane stared into his eyes and quietly asked, though the answer seemed obvious.

Joshua Hughes’ lips curled slightly with a look of pride in his eyes: ”You are my employee. Your running away is my loss. I’m only trying to mitigate my loss.”

His smile could almost make one want to scratch his face off in frustration.

Avery Jane sighed softly, since when had she become so bloody and violent?

”Loss? Your time should be quite precious, right, Mr. Hughes? You came running to talk about mitigating a loss?” Avery Jane’s tone carried doubt.

How many things could this man have to deal with every day?

Even if she didn’t know, she could guess. He surprisingly had the leisure to come to an airport to catch a thoroughly unimportant employee, it was an enormous joke.

”Avery Jane, you’ve underestimated your value. Things that amuse me are far more important than making money. After all, I’ve got more than enough.” Joshua Hughes laughed even more proudly, like a cat toying with a little mouse.

He wasn’t in a hurry to devour her, just wanted to watch her struggle in vain at death’s door.

Everything was indeed his doing, yet he acted indifferently, truly driving Avery Jane mad.

She disliked his presumption, his confidence, the way his gaze fell on her, everything about him disturbed her.

Joshua Hughes looked at her little face, seemingly quite angry.

He seemed to have anticipated such a result long ago.

Joshua Hughes raised his eyebrows and spoke blandly: ”Today, you should go to work. You were the one who asked me for a job and an audition opportunity. I’ve fulfilled your request. If you can’t seize it, you can’t blame others. If you dare to run away again, don’t think you can leave. Even if you get out of the country, I’ll drag you back even before you’re gone. Such a small task, I can still manage.”

The man before her seemed like a stranger anyway, constantly changing, yet his methods of threats hadn’t changed one bit.

”None of your business.” Avery Jane bit and coldly replied.

Joshua Hughes seemed to hear the funniest joke in the world, his lips curling, eyes gleaming with mockery: ”None of my business? I’m not interfering. I’m just defending my rights from being infringed.”

This girl sometimes seemed mature but sometimes was so naively ridiculous. Not his business?

”What rights are you talking about?” Avery Jane said unkindly, her heart in a chaotic mess.

The man calmly opened the car door: ”If you want to use me to boost your popularity, I won’t oppose. If not, we can get in the car now.”

The handsome man and beautiful woman duo attracted attention from many, and in just a few minutes, they might even draw journalists over.

Joshua Hughes had almost never been exposed in front of the media because even if someone managed to capture a photo of him, he could always leverage media intervention, but in the airport, any instant Weibo post would expose him.

He and she, even his car, were too attention-grabbing.

Avery Jane looked at him furiously, her heart simmering with anger, but there was no choice but to get in the car first.

”Wait, my manager is still inside.” Avery Jane remembered Angela Scott was still in the airport hall.

”She wouldn’t dare sit in my car, she’s afraid it would shorten her life.” Joshua Hughes’ low laughter rumbled out from his chest as he drove the car out swiftly.

Avery Jane sat in the car, watching the man driving. His actions today were astonishing, without the usual coldness and cruelty, nor the intimidating temper.

But the more so, the more Avery Jane felt a tremendous threat and pressure.
