Medical and Martial God

Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Fighting Alone

”Run faster. Didn’t you have dinner?” An Dongye said, running ahead and glancing back at Kuroki Suzu five meters behind her.

”You’d best hope I don’t catch you, or I’ll kill you for sure,” Kuroki Suzu ground out through clenched teeth.

”Heh, if you caught up to me, I wouldn’t be worthy of my ’Flying Legs’ nickname.”

An Dongye was disdainful. She could have easily left Kuroki Suzu behind, but she had deliberately slowed down to maintain a five-meter distance, purely to toy with her.

The 100 Sang Jing Ninja Warriors, Ye Shaokang, and the horde of Xuanse Martial Artists had been chasing them for a while before An Dongye and Kuroki Suzu left them in the dust. With nothing better to do, the Xuanse Martial Artists turned on the 100 Sang Jing Ninja Warriors. Without Kuroki Suzu, the Ninja Warriors were far inferior to the Xuanse Martial Artists in both numbers and skill.

”Hmph, you can’t beat me in a contest of endurance,” Kuroki Suzu snorted coldly. I possess the God of War’s Power. My martial prowess is far more robust than hers, and my stamina is greater. As long as I keep chasing her, I’ll eventually run her martial prowess dry.

Just then, Kuroki Suzu’s phone rang. ”Lady Kuroki Suzu, the Xuanse Martial Artists suddenly ambushed us...”

”What?” Kuroki Suzu’s face paled. ”Where are you?”

CLANG!

The sound of a phone dropping came from the other end of the line, followed by a cold snort. ”You’re at death’s door and you still have time to make a phone call...”

Kuroki Suzu’s expression turned grim, killing intent boiling in her eyes, yet she hesitated.

Should I continue chasing An Dongye? Or should I go back and save my people?

After some thought, Kuroki Suzu decided to keep chasing An Dongye. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to save her people; she had no idea where the Sang Jing Ninja Warriors were. How could she rescue them?

So, she bellowed at An Dongye, who was still running ahead of her, ”When I catch you, I’ll tear you limb from limb! No, I’ll cripple your martial prowess and sell you to the City of Asura!”

An Dongye’s eyes lit up. ”Then you’d better run faster. I’ve always wanted to go to the City of Asura to see the penguins.”

Kuroki Suzu was speechless. Are there penguins in the City of Asura?

The two of them continued on, one chasing and the other fleeing.

Seeing that it was nearly three in the morning, An Dongye had had her fun. ”Let’s call it a day. I’m going back to sleep,” she said.

”You...” Just as Kuroki Suzu was about to respond, she saw An Dongye suddenly take off as if she had taken a stimulant, her speed increasing by two or three times. In a flash, she was gone.

Kuroki Suzu was completely stunned.

She’s that fast?

In an instant, she understood. An Dongye had been toying with her the entire time.

Kuroki Suzu stopped and looked around.

Where the hell am I? I’m lost!

She tried calling the 100 Sang Jing Ninja Warriors, but none of them answered.

Kuroki Suzu inhaled sharply.

Are they all dead?

Sitting on the curb, Kuroki Suzu tearfully called her master, Yagyu Uemon. ”Master, I want to go home!”

The moment Tengjing arrived at the Jin Ye City airport, his wrist was broken by that guy with the lame name. Miyamoto Satoshi took Take Shitamura to challenge the Ghost Doctor, and Take Shitamura is still in the hospital. I thought I could use Ming Yue’s people to kidnap Ye Xiu’s wife and friends, but a sniper scared us so badly we didn’t dare to leave the house before dark. I thought buying up the companies, hospitals, and pharmacies of Ye Xiu’s enemies would help the Rongfu Consortium enter the Jin Ye City market, but Ye Xiu ruined all of them. We planned to set up an arena to cripple the Ancient Martial Circle of Jin Ye City, but a woman with a black plastic bag over her head killed four of our six Eighth Grade Grandmasters, and that guy with the lame name killed the remaining two. At the same time, our base at the Alton Hotel was completely wiped out. We asked the Seven Deadly Sect for help kidnapping the Qin Family to force Ye Xiu’s surrender, but their Sect Leader and six Great Elders were killed by Ye Xiu. Then last night, I went to the auction full of confidence, but not only did I fail to get the Marrow Cleansing Pill, the 100 Sang Jing Ninja Warriors I brought were all killed, and I was played for hours by that woman with a black plastic bag over her head.

Kuroki Suzu was exhausted. She felt so wronged. The feng shui in this land of Xuanse must be all wrong. This place isn’t for me!

With no one around, she broke down and wailed into the phone, ”Master, please, just let me go home...”

Yagyu Uemon replied, ”Come back and participate in the War God Ranking examination.”

”Yes, Master!”

Kuroki Suzu hung up. Ignoring Dragon Hollyhock, Miyamoto Satoshi, and the Sang Jing medical delegation, she went straight to the airport that night to buy a ticket home.

「The next day at eight o’clock.」

Ye Xiu arrived at Shenghe Medical College. As expected, the moment he stepped out of the taxi, he saw Dragon Hollyhock standing at the school gate.

”Why didn’t you come to my hotel last night?” Dragon Hollyhock demanded angrily.

”I did go,” Ye Xiu said with an innocent look. ”But I don’t have your phone number, so I couldn’t contact you. The hotel receptionist wouldn’t tell me your room number, so I just went home.”

Dragon Hollyhock was speechless. Thinking it over, she realized it was her fault. She shouldn’t have fallen asleep while waiting for him, and she should have given him her phone number...

”Then I’ll hire you again for tonight,” Dragon Hollyhock said, taking a deep breath and pulling a thick wad of cash from her purse.

”No, thank you. You’re too unreliable as a client. I don’t plan on doing business with you anymore.” Ye Xiu refused and walked straight into Shenghe Medical College.

”You...”

Dragon Hollyhock stared in disbelief. After all my hard work, Ye Xiu has just blacklisted me? It seems if I want to confirm whether he has a dragon tattoo on his left arm, I’ll have to use force after all.

She took out her phone and called Kuroki Suzu. ”You can make your move on Ye Xiu now.”

”I’m sorry, I’ve already returned to Sang Jing,” Kuroki Suzu replied. ”My master told me to come back for the War God Ranking examination.” With that, she hung up.

Dragon Hollyhock took a deep breath, so furious she felt dizzy and nearly stumbled. I had the Tiansha Association send Kuroki Suzu to help me deal with Ye Xiu, and she fled in disgrace without even meeting him? The people of Sang Jing are so unreliable! I’ll have to rely on my own people!

Dragon Hollyhock called Long Bo. ”The number you have dialed is not in service...”

Her heart sank. She knew Long Bo well; he would never cancel his phone number without a reason.

There was only one possibility.

Long Bo! He’s dead! And he’s been dead for more than a day or two!

”It looks like I’ll have to fight this battle alone!” Dragon Hollyhock sighed, looking up at the sky.

...

Ye Xiu arrived at the training field.

An Dongye, who was in the middle of training, saw him and immediately broke from the formation to run over.

The drill instructor and her homeroom teacher, Murong, were practically fuming. Yesterday morning, An Dongye fell asleep and snored while standing at attention, then disappeared for the rest of the day. Now she was trying to run off again this morning?

”An Dongye, you stop right there!” Murong yelled, chasing after her.

”Little bro, haha, I have great news for you!” An Dongye said excitedly as she ran up to Ye Xiu. ”I snatched the Marrow Cleansing Pill! It’s worth four billion! Haha, I’m rich! Tell me where I can fence it. Once I sell it, I’ll give you a cut of two or three hundred million.”
